The UK called for a referendum to respect the people's wishes and put to bed further agitation and uncertainty about their future. The government listened, organised a referendum, lost and the Prime Minister honorably resigned.

So when will Buhari call for a national referendum to determine the structure and direction of the entity called Nigeria ? And if he were to lose his own side of the argument will he resign together with his cabinet ?

Or will Nigeria keep killing it's citizens from North to South and East to West in order to stifle debate, reject the will of the people and carry on with the status quo that has almost brought the country to it's knees economically and politically.

When will the people of Nigeria have their voice heard and their will implemented in emulation of the more enlightened countries and I dare say peoples.

Well Politics in Nigeria has always been a do or die affair. Politicians will sacrifice anything, I mean, anything to remain in Power

Buhari would rather send his soldiers to MASSACRE thousands of UNARMED Shiite Moslems.

Then, as a TACTICAL general, order troops to KILL hundreds of Biafran protesters, right inside a CHURCH at Aba.

No hope for liberty under Buhari as president of Nigeria.

That's one point dude. But I think the referendum will be for the region that's voting to leave or stay. From the just concluded one in the EU, I believe you've seen only the UK voted grin

The politicians will have to remain in Abj cuz homecoming will be a bitch for a vast majority of them. Case study: Biafra

You are so wrong. Politicians see themselves as belonging to a tribe different from Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo. Their tribe is the Elite tribe. That is why they will never support any silly referendum. If they see that the call for referendum is too loud to bear, especially when the international community is lending it's voice, What they'll simply do is allow it. Guess what? They will employ their age old tactics of buying electorates with huge money. That's when you'll see hardcore secessionists suddenly campaigning against it with common men on the street voting against it too cos they've been induced with cash by this politicians who don't want the people to have a voice cos it will mean the end of their access to power and wealth.

Totally agree, every day for the thief and one day for the master. What has gone up must come down , there is a consequence for every action and a reaction to every action. These thieves we call politicians are seriously deluded if they think they will escape their wanton pilfering of the country's resources and impoverishment of the people.

Their D-Day will surely come...

Am sorry to disappoint you but from where I come from, youths including my humble self are seizing their destiny and saying no to the 'age long's practice.

Money is king yes but Igbo enwero eze still stands. Should that day come, their meager stipends will further infuriate the situation.

If appointment to positions, elections, census and jobs are brazenly rigged in Nigeria, Where do you get such alien confidence from against reality?

You don't do referendum when a whole country is in shambles. How will you survive a shambolic entity. We should get this country on its feet again and then negotiate referendum.
