The only reason Northerners preach "One Nigeria" is because of the oil in the SS. It is their lifeblood and they know it

You see why Buhari devoted 40bn to finding oil in Lake Chad.

Once Lake Chad drilling commences in earnest, northerners will suddenly want to divide Nigeria. Those who say "One Nigeria" is non-negotiable will start shouting "Divide Nigeria"

This country is a game, only the wise are aware

Just watch
and that will be a welcome development because they will be landlocked and languish in northern abyss without access to sea undecided they are naturally cursed

hahaha who is fooling who? having something in global commercial quantity and having a small vegetable garden for family consumption are two different things. it will take another decade to install drilling facilies for a large scale production even if its true. this minister can lie o.

Most of those castigating the government for this move are the same people who cheered the NDA terrorists on while they were destroying their future.

People should learn to live with the consequences of their actions.

This is the most foolish news ive read since the beginning of the year.

When making news about areas you have no competence, at least get input from the professionals.

Nigeria to leave Niger delta oil and start drilling oil in the NE? You don't drill oil, you drill oil wells and produce oil.

You should first of all wait for an announcement of a find. An estimated reserve before speculations. Oil is an asset, and countries try to add more reserves, not abandon one for another. Being a new find (If commercial), a 100,000 barrels of oil/day will be a good output from the field for a start.

The Niger delta gives above 1,500,000 million barrels of oil a day.

I am aware Kachikwu made an announcement for us to expect something, When exploration is completed, there should be a breakdown of the estimated find, to know the commercial viability. That is only when we can start making speculations.

I end to say that if Niger deltan oil is left, the assets is still in the ground. The oil is still there to be tapped when we can better manage the resources. This news is an attempt by a novice to whip up sentiments.

Not sure oil will remain in the ground in Niger Delta if oil is found and drilled in commercial quantities up North. I imagine that Delta Oil will then be exploited by the Major Western powers (especially France) through proxies on the ground and our oil carted off to Neighboring Nations like Cameroon, Benin etc. Also our oil will find its way to the Far East, marshaled away by Asian criminal syndicates, similar to the trade in Animal and animal parts such as ivory and Rhino horns. The ordinary Niger Delta people will get nothing but wars between Militant Groups financed by foreign interests. This will keep Deltans occupied while their wealth is stolen. Africa is full of examples -from Sierla-leon's blood Diamond to Congo's Coltans.

Luckily for us Delta Nigerians, Nigeria is not a banana republic, the rest of Nigeria will not let any part of Nigeria be exploited and destroyed in this way and our resources carted off.... grin

Believe Buhari led govt at ur own peril.

After all is said and done, there is NO RECOVERABLE OIL in the lake Chad basin. Insanity is described as doing exactly the same thing repeatedly while hoping for a different result.

Niger delta pray your matter does not end up like the man that thought he was the only flutist in town. He decided to feign death only for him to find out that a flutist came to entertain the people at his supposed burial. Lagos don dey explore, lake chad is about to, be careful so as not to lose the seat of the beaitiful bride because of pride. You can settle things amicably rather than destroy your land.

Forget Ajaokuta steel industry, agriculture and many more. Nigeria just need a good leader, how many crude oil do South Africa and Egypt produce?.
