It seems woman are now more comfortable in trousers than in skirts or wrappers, especially when sitting in public or on a bike or anywhere.

I grew up with Pentecostal viewpoints… though I’m tolerant.

CAC, TAC, GAC, CGAC, Deeper Life, Lord’s Chosen, core RCCG, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Apostolic Faith Church, MFM, etc., rarely have women who put on trousers. They frown on it.

They got valid scriptural reasons.

Winners Chapel, Christ Embassy, House on the Rock, etc. don’t see any big deal in woman wearing trousers.

They also got valid scriptural reasons.

Who’re right? Who’re wrong? Does it really matter?

Any Bible viewpoint? How do you think God himself feel about this issue?

Does it affect salvation or any spiritual growth if Christian women put on trousers in this present age?

If you want to point at that part of Deuteronomy that said a woman shouldn't wear men's clothing and vice versa, nothing in this world said that trousers are clothes for men only.

"A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this" ( Deuteronomy 22:5 ). The context of this passage is the second giving of the law to the nation of Israel as they were poised to enter the Promised Land.
Deuteronomy 22:5 is an admonition not to live as a transvestite. This has to do with more than just clothing; it also speaks of a life that emulates in every way those of the opposite sex. Transvestitism was a practice of the Canaanites, and Israel was to consider it an abomination. We take a principle from this and apply it to our lives as believers, but we must use it in the context in which it is given and do so in relation to the dispensation of grace.

The Bible didn't mention trouser, but the israelites did understand what God referred to with respect to their culture.

The King James version of The Bible mentions pants in Exodus 28:42: "and you shall make them linen trousers to cover their unclothedness from the loins even to the thighs." And in the Book of Daniel, 3:21: 'Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, and their turbans..."

One really need to read through the history of trousers to know that there is nothing linking it to the bible nor Christianity as during the era the bible was written both men and women wore tunics. Jesus and his disciples were known to have worn tunics.

Even African males wearing trousers know it is a borrowed way of dressing because our ancestors were known for their loincloths.

Trousers are of Persian origin, which were worn by both male and female before it spread to other regions.

See the Scot kilts being worn by the men in the picture, they cannot be accused of wearing skirts like women because this has always been their traditional way of dressing and it shows that wearing of trousers is a borrowed way of dressing.

Read that passage you quoted for me well. Transvestism (dressing like the opposite sex) was a pagan practice to Israel, and that is what they were forbidding.

Now you can't classify trousers as men's clothing alone (both sexes can wear it), so you can't say any woman wearing trousers is dressing up like a man.

In my culture, trouser is not even "meant' for men. It is from a borrowed culture, and from the culture we borrowed it from, it is meant for both men and women. Read Pavore9's post.
