Even if it is offered to an idol as claimed, you can eat it.

Years back, I was involved in a rural evangelism in a village concentrated by idol worshipers. We succeeded to establish a prayer center, we call it fellowship then, amidst thick opposition and severe persecution from the rulers of the village especially the occult/ogbonis.

There's a T-junction besides our prayer center. This Ocultic will come and pur sacrifices there against us.

The persecution was so severe that no one will even sell food to us because almost every one complied with the instruction of rulers because of their powers. And we were starved that we even fast with nothing to break.
To cut the long story short, myself and 2 other brothers began to break our fast with those sacrifices.

To the extent that we even make our night prayers to be every day because we are sure that food will come. They even got to know (how? I don't know ) and threatened us the more that their gods will do this or that..... they even deliberatly put poison in some........... as some of them were struck by God and got converted when Power crushed powers........
Yet we were not hurt.
The reason why it was three of. us that was eating it was to safeguard the faith of our brethren as they were not matured enough spiritually. They were all new converts except 3 of us.

How much more a ram that was killed and was given to me as a food gift.

Am not quoting bible and it's deliberate, I want you to dicern in the spirit according to the level of your spiritual maturity.

The ram is a gift,(food gift) somebody liberally gave you.
But the sacrifices I talked about was not original for us, Infact, it was for a being to eat and get angry against us, yet we ate and it even helped our sojourn as evangelists.

It depends on the leading of the Holyspirit.

You may eat it if you are directed by the Holyghost, you may not eat it if the Holyghost is sending you a wrong signal.

THE botomline is maturity. Are you mature enough to eat the food sacrificed to idol? Watch out.
