OK..there are no peculiar risk as long as u take cleanliness, heating and vaccination seriously.

Tips to be a successful broiler farmer:
1)Source your day old chicks from reputable hatcheries: like Byang Amo, Obasanjo farms and some others.
2)Vaccination and drugs: some vaccines like mareks is administered by the producer so ensure that. Then get a vacc program table for disease in your area.
2) Hygiene: its a prerequisite so ensure it is kept always including biosecurity.
3)Nutrition: Don't starve your birds least you get GIGO and don't compromise quality feed or you will pay darely for it.
4)Marketing:Before production source for buyers I mean potential ones. Don't just venture because people say its profitable and market is large.

I give lasota vaccine for Newcastle disease. For birdflu, u have to prevent it by ensuring strict Biosecurity.

Gumboro is not the only medication u give to birds. u give Lasota vaccine, u get your coccidiostat and vitamin/electrolyte handy.

My babies are 9weeks today. They doing very great, 1% mortality so far.

McPremiere Food is setting up a broiler processing plant in Port Harcourt ready to process between 500 – 1000 birds per hour which will Cater for the South East and South South Region of the country. We are inviting broiler farmers in the region to join our network of out-growers or contract farmer to supply our plant with 8wks old broilers or birds at live weight of between 1.8-2.5 kg.

The Farmers should have the capacity of breading 5000+ birds. This present farmers the opportunity to sell out their birds as at when due and not have to spend their profit feeding their stock after attaining maturity.
