Ten Important Things Peter Obi Did Not Tell Us On The Platform — Emeka Odionu by globe16: 6:18pm On Oct 03, 2016
Former Anambra Governor Peter Obi made so many sweet talks on the Platform but these are some of the things he failed to tell gullible Nigerians as captured by a social commentator, Emeka Odionu.

On the platform at The Covenant Place, Iganmu Lagos; the former governor of Anambra state, as one of the invited guests spoke on a number of issues which are trending in the media.

It was not an interactive session, so there was no opportunity to ask him questions hence the uninformed in Anambra politics “ga ekwe nke Pita kwulu”.

I've been getting calls and inbox messages from Nigerians at home and in diaspora as regards Obi's speech on the "platform" and I've done my best to explain to them "as onye no mgbe ife melu the true situation of things" but on a second thought decided to explain certain things online, not as a media aide to anybody but as "ezigbote onye Anambra"

1. Peter OBI told us that he kept N75b for his successor but he didn't tell us that part of the money he claimed he kept was a N9b NIPP money given to Anambra state by Obasanjo in which Anambra state made no financial contributions neither did he tell us that Anambra states Equity shares of N750m from Emenite Roofing Industry (a Michael Okpalla investment) which was shared to all Eastern states in the early 90's was part of his N75b

He also forgot to tell us that N1b agricultural loan given to farmers in Anambra state by the federal government is in his N75b handover note.

2. Peter OBI told us that he kept N75b for his successor but he did not tell us that he awarded a contract of N184b in his
last year in office, paid N78b and bequeathed a debt of N106b to his successor.

3. Peter Obi asked governors to scrap the office of First Lady to save cost but did not tell us that his wife operated the office of First Lady with all the paraphernalia. In what capacity did Magarete Obi tour 177 communities in Anambra state thrice?

Was the office of First Lady built after Obi's tenure?

4. Peter OBI told us that he kept N75b for his successor but did not tell us that he inherited N11.2b from his predecessor, Dr. Chris Ngige.

He avoided telling us that the Federal Government roads in Anambra state constructed by Dr Ngige valued at about N30b was re-imbursed to him.

5. Peter OBI did not tell us that he killed the third tier of government in Anambra state by not conducting Local Government election for eight years he governed until two months to handover.

6. Peter Obi, speaking on “the platform” did not tell us that he employed more than 5000 civil servants two months to handover which he never did in his eight years rule.

7. Obi admonished incumbent governors to stop drinking champagne in government house to save cost but didn't tell us that the day Gov Obiano won, bottles of champagne were brought out from government house and shared to jubilants.

8. Obi told us he never slept in a hotel where a room was N250,000 a night to save cost but he didn't tell us how his aide was apprehended moving our security vote of N250m by road to Lagos.

9. Peter Obi admonished youths to go into politics to be influential and ask their leaders questions but the youths of his senatorial zone are being shortchanged and employment eludes them because of PDP's lingering court case sponsored by Obi.

Obi did not tell us that he was the one frustrating his senatorial zone from having a senator when he was speaking on “the platform”

10. On “the platform”, Obi spoke on “cutting cost of governance” but did not tell us if sharing N40b to his friends and cronies on what he termed “Final Push” two months to handover was one of the ways to save cost of governance.

Pastor Poju Oyemade is doing well on his programme called “The Platform” but he should to add to the programme an opportunity to ask questions to debunk hypocrisy.

Peter obi is one of the cunniest politicians in Nigeria, his whole speech was aimed as obiano because obiano is doing far better than him and has also abandoned him.. Imagine a former governor saying rubbish like he cut costs by not using motorcycles in his convoy and some of the same gullible were cheering like zombies.. Ngige left about 33 billion after just 3 years for obi but Peter obi said he left 75 billion for his successor after 8 years. Find the details of the 75 billion below.. Rubbish

The pull him down syndrome synonymous with the igbo man is here.

The igboman is the only known problem of the igboman... There is absolutely no contest to it.....

See obiano that did not even have a voters card... That was not known..... Has no grassroot support.... Peter single handedly picked and made him governor... Now obiano is the one fighting Peter..... It's shows the betrayal instinct inherent in human beings.

Peter obi won his second tenure largely due to ojukwu, did ojukwu try to distract him like he is trying to do to obiano? Chime single handedly made ugwuanyi governor from nowhere in enugu over heavyweights like Ike Ekweremmadu, have you seen chime in public since then despite even performing far more than obi? Is peter obi the only former governor in Nigeria? It is right for peter obi to pull obaino down but it is not right for obiano to do same? voodoo logic

Obi is just ranting
Penny wise pound foolish.
How much is the naira or dollars worth now?
Talking about putting money under the mattress while the roof is leaking.
If I hear anybody say "save for the rainy day" one more time.

Peter Obi should just save himself unnecessary embarrassment and retire just like other past south east Governor, Seeking attention won't get him anywhere.

He's totally irrelevant and can't be relevant again to south east region.

Obiano has surpassed his performance 100%.

Is that your grouse with him, being conspicuously present in the media.

Stop the hate and accord him his due recognition. One wonders if all the subventions and savings you argued he included in the 75B savings couldn't have been spent by him as a state governor.

There's no basis for comparison between Obi and Chime, both were wonderful administrators as state governors. However, Chime is not much of media person even while he was a governor.

To be honest, I have great respect for Peter Obi but this is because his folks who are my friends have respect for him and I can fault anambra person saying Obi achieved so much. But what I remember Peter Obi with anytime his name was mentioned was when on AIT I heard Gbenga Arulegba called an even awarded him the most "grumbling governor" in Nigeria. I had hardly known Mr Obi. That's what I remember Mr Obi with and it hurts. Judging from the respect his folks aaccord him.

Coming from a man whose companies were recently sealed by the FIRS for evading tax for 8 years when he was governor, it is not hard to see deceit and hypocrisy in whatever Peter Obi says. He has not changed. He is the same man who graduated with a 3rd class in philosophy from UNN because he was busy in the international cocaine courier business while in school. The same man who told anambra people during a radio phone in programme that education is not for the poor when begged by ANSU students to reduce the huge school fees at the state owned university. The same man who hired a former catholic seminarian, expelled from the seminary for lying addiction, as his media assistant. The same man who is now going about telling everyone that he left 75 billion naira savings with a fake document that ONLY HIM signed, when auditing by present governor has revealed that infact he left almost 200 billion naira in debt! The same man called Peter Obi. A crook per excellence!

Saying that Obiano didn't inherit N75bn doesn't cut. He's telling us after he fell out Obi. In hand over notes, you inherit assets and liabilities just like PMB inherited $30bn in foreign reserves, $10bn in foreign debt, and N10tn in domestic debt from GEJ. Peter Obi provided handover certificate, let Ngige provide one!
On Ngige, he told Anambra names of Politrickians that financed his election and were demanding a chunk of state' s budget. He exposed those Politrickians and he fought them and they left him.
Since Obiano is no longer an Obi stooge, time for him to show us how much he actually inherited from Obi by listing all the accounts, banks and amount. He should tell us how much of Anambra's money was invested in Orient Petroleum and SABMiller Brewery.
Let him set up an audit panel to be chaired by KPMG or PWC. Let Obiano "expose" Obi like Ngige did or he has to keep quiet and face his work.

Irrelevant nonsense.. After 8 years, obiano will leave more projects than obi, he would have advanced more projects than obi.. He would have created wealth more than obi. There is no reason saving money when the people are hungry, government is not a private institution.. American is owning trillions of dollars today.. Even the 75 billion is a big fraud. Obi will be exposed soon, just watch out
