does that mean all Universities must adhere to this from this year onwards.......and does it affect those already in 100level to final year or just those recently admitted....i'm confused here

Hw did you calculate it? Coz 4.0/5.0 is equivalent to 3.2/4.0....check ur calculation again.

at kwara state university here we use d 4.0 grading system
But 2.80-3.59- second class upper
3.60 upward is first class

The method you used to convert it isnt what will be used by the school....... for eg being on a 4.0 cgpa on a 5.0scale is equal to getting B's in all your courses.... but with this method getting B's in all courses is equal to 3.0 on the 4.0 scale...... what if he had a mixture of diff grades in his courses to get that 4.0( maybe some A's, B's, C's, E's, etc)..... on a 5.0 scale, E is 1point but on 4.0, it's 0.....so for all the E's he might have gotten, he had no points for them, so this brought down the cgpa from a 3.0 to a 2.93cgpa............

This practically implies that they're lowering the standard at the universities. If 3.5/4 is the least required to make first class, what it amounts to on a scale of 5 is 4.375/5 as against the 4.5/5 which has been the least requirement all these while.

If they like make them make am 1.0 grading system... if God don bless u with money, ur own is settled already..

Brother, calculate well, 4.0 will be a 3.2 on a 4 point scale.

You didn't cal. it well. 4.0 on a scale of 5 is sec. Class upper. When cal. It on a scale of 4, then you have 4.0/5×4 which will giv u 3.2 on a scale of 4.
