The Bible is not clear as to whether Jesus is God or not. At a point in time the bible said he is God and in some other places it said he is not. This means that for those who want to claim Jesus is God or not, it is easier for them to pick and interprete the verses that suits their opinion.

In my own view, however, the only book where Jesus is explicitly refered to has God is the book of John. And as we all know, John was written by an anonymous author over 100years after Jesus death and so cannot be reliable. The closest gospel written after the death of Jesus thatwould have been perhaps more reliable was the letters of Paul which was written 20years after the death of Christ. And again as we all know, Paul didn't meet Jesus and doesn't know much about him. In fact in all his letters he hardly quotes or referenced Jesus in them. However, Paul's view of who Jesus was is totally different from John's view.

A rule of thumb in Islam is that a Muslim must believe in Jesus. Any Muslim that reject Jesus is not a Muslim. Our difference is that we Muslims believe him to be a prophet born by virgin Mary. He isn't a God.
Jesus is the first and only begotten son of God.... Jesus is not God but his son, the doctrine of Trinity explains God the father:- the head of the organization God the son:- Jesus Christ the door that leads to God, and God the holy spirit the acting force, the angels... therefore they are 3in1 body... Jesus is the first creation of God... in Genesis when God says come let create man on our own image who do u think he is referring to point of corrections Jesus is not God but his first creation

Not true. I know Muslims hate Apostle Paul. But here is what you don't know, Paul is similar to Mohammed, the Islamic Prophet. Personally as a Christian and one who is enlightened ,I have so many issues with some of Paul's teachings because they're wrong. However, we don't pray through Paul or any other entity. We don't even PRAY THROUGH anyone BUT IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

Paul has some mighty teachings which are powerful and capable of making a man upright and just. But please understand that he is just a man and one of the apostles of the Gospel, just as Peter.

Even the prophet Mohammed when they ask him some questions,he will tell his followers to go to the people of the book(Christians) for an answer because according to him they know better, even when he is dying they ask him where are you going after death he said he don't know where he is going after death, but Jesus reassure his followers that his is going to his father in heaven where there are so many mansions prepared for those who believe in him.

Bible Verses That Indicate Jesus Is Not God
The Creator
1. Matthew 24:36
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the
Son, but the Father only.
Here Jesus makes a distinction between what he
knows and what the Father knows.
2. Matthew 26:39
My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from
me, yet not as I will, but as Thou will.
Jesus’ will is likewise autonomous from God’s Will.
Jesus is seeking acquiescence to God’s will.
3. John 5:26
For as the Father has life in Himself, so he has granted
the Son to have life in himself.
Jesus received his life from God. God received his life
from no one. He is eternally self-existent.
4. John 5:30
By myself, I can do nothing: I judge only as I hear,
and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please
myself but him who has sent me.
Jesus says, “by myself, I can do nothing.” This
indicates that Jesus is relying upon his own
relationship with God. He is not trying to “please
myself” but rather is seeking to “please the one who
sent me.”
5. John 5:19
The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only
what he sees the Father doing, because whatever the
Father does, the Son does also.
Jesus declares that he is following a pattern laid down
by God. He is expressing obedience to God.
6. Mark 10:18
Why do you call me good? No one is good, except
God alone.
Here Jesus emphatically makes a distinction between
himself and God.
and who says that jesus is a God?

Can someone throw more light to this

The bonded is not really true. They indeed love Him as a prophet. That's where their belief ends. Should they go beyond that, they would unconsciously accept Him as Lord. Islamic debates overtime states that Jesus truly died but was resuscitated instead of the Christian belief of resurrection. The implication of accepting His redirection means they acknowledge Him as one who has power over death without knowing it.
Jesus never die in our believed in islam. that's among the reason that he will come back, Because the most high said in Qur'an that every soul shall test died. And if any Muslim tell you that Jesus is died, he is not a Muslim because in Qur'an Allah said it only look to be So. Allah said he either beget or begotten & we can't believed him as lord no matter what. Caused the lord is One. We believed Jesus is the word of the God cause if the lord said be then it most be. As he did in the Creation of the world and in the process getting birth of isah (the son of Merry) whom you call jesus As the Angel tell her its the decree of her lord And he only said be and it will be.

Do not bring in your myopic views today. The Bible is well detailed about the character of Jesus, and I understand that your hate comes from a handful of Paul's teaching on this. Perhaps I would take my time to create a thread next week on the person of Jesus. Is Jesus God? Obviously no! Then what is He? He is the Father's Son who was around at the time of creation and came in as a man. He was quick to point this out. He prayed to The Father several times and taught His disciples to pray in this manner.

Did Paul get the character of Jesus right? Perfectly! You want scriptural backings not from Paul but thebOld Testaments? Please wait till next week. Would sure point that out to you.

Muslims believe that Jesus didn't die on the cross because someone else took his place. They love him as a prophet of Islam. They believe that his message was Islamic but it has been corrupted by Christians. On this basis, a Muslim can claim to love Jesus.
Re: I Am A Muslim But I Love Jesus — Emir Sanusi by ilynem(m): 11:35am On Oct 16, 2016
mustymatic:

Jesus rebuts the false charge of his enemies that he was ambiguous in his claims to being the Messiah that they were waiting for. He says that he did tell them clearly enough, yet they would not listen to him,

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and you believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man PLUCK THEM OUT OF MY HAND.
29 My Father which gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to PLUCK THEM OUT OF MY FATHER'S HAND.

How can anyone be so blind as not to see the exactness of the ending of the last two verses. But spiritual blinkers are more impervious than physical
defects. He is telling the Jews and recording for posterity, the real unity or relationship between the Father and the son.
The most crucial verse -
30 I and my Father are one.

One in what? In their Omniscience? In their Nature? In their Omnipotence? No! One in purpose! That once a believer has accepted faith, the Messenger sees to it that he remains in faith, and God Almighty also sees to it that he remains in faith. This is the purpose of the "Father" AND the "son" AND the "Holy Ghost" AND of every man AND every woman of faith.

John explain his Gnostic mystic words:

That they all may be ONE; as thou. Father, art in
me, and I in thee, that they also may be ONE in us...
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made
perfect in ONE . . .
John 17:20-22
And according to your own bible God has sons
by the tons, can they all be gods?
Can't you see that in the language of the Jew, every righteous person, every Tom, Dick and Harry who followed the Will and Plan of God, was a SON OF
GOD. It was a metaphorical descriptive term, commonly used among the Jews.

"...Adam, which was the SON OF GOD."
Luke 3:38
"That the SONS OF GOD saw the daughters of men that they were fair...
"And when the SONS OF GOD came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them..."
Genesis 6:2&4
"...Israel is MY SON, even my firstborn:"
Exodus 4:22
"...for I (God) am a FATHER to Israel, and Ephraim is my
firstborn."
Jeremiah 31:9
"...the Lord hath said unto me, (David) Thou art MY SON: this day have I BEGOTTEN thee."
Psalms 2:7
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the
SONS OF GOD."
Romans1 8

And lastly for Jesus to die on the cross would have meant the triumph of his executioners; but the Quran asserts that they undoubtedly failed: "Assuredly God will defend those who believe";. He confounds the plots of the enemies of Isah (Jesus)... merciful God.
And yes I'll stick to Islam... Christianity is too hard twisted for every sane person
Let me correct your ignorance. The term son of God doesn't mean divinity. I don't blame me you because many Christians are ignorant of this too. Jesus referred to himself as Son of man. That itself is divinity. Doubt me, read about Daniel's revelation of the Son of man in Daniel chapter 10. Now compare it with mark 14 verse 61 and 62. When they asked Jesus, art thou Christ? Son of the blessed? He replied them and said "I am". Recall God revealing himself to Moses in the bush as "I am"? He also said "and you shall see the son of man sitting on the right side of power". Again look at Daniel chapter 10. And immediately after that, the high priest tore his clothes probably in anger of what Jesus said. What did Jesus say that must have offended the high priest? Why did they want to kill Him? Even the Jews knew what Jesus was talking about. If you want to know more about Jesus, you can contact me though. God bless you.

Bible have never said that Jesus is God,there is only one God,who is the maker of the universe,Jesus proceeded from the father and also the holy spirit all share in divinity of the father the God,Jesus is equal with God and hence can be called God the son,God created everything through him, when God is always speaking in Bible or Koran they us the word 'We' or let us,showing you that God doesn't take parallel decisions.

What Jesus said about Muhammad
Muhammad was predicted to come in the Gospel of John:

Just a quick note, the Arabic word "Muhammad" is an expression which means "The honorable one" or "The glorified one" or "The admirable". Prophet Muhammad was the first in the Middle East to be named "Muhammad". Below, you will see how Jesus in today's Gospel of John had called this human Prophet which he predicted his comming "The honorable one".

Jesus in the Greek Bible used the Greek word "Periklytos" which means the admirable or glorified one. He called that predicted human prophet "Periklytos". This word corresponds exactly to the Arabic word "Muhammad" which also means the "admired one" or "glorified one." In other words, "Periklytos" is "Muhammad" in Greek.

Let us start...

In the Bible we can find the following four passages wherein Jesus (peace be upon him) predicts a great event:

John 14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever"
( its in light of Jesus prayer we have Muhammad who is last and the seal of the prophet till the world will no longer exist)

John 15:26 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me"
( Muhammad pbuh testified to Jesus Christ pbuh and he says who ever among the Muslims malign Jesus pbuh is not part of him Quran in sura maida said a many thing about Jesus pbuh in Quran 5 - 116:120 and aural Mariam Quran 19 - 29:40

John 14:26 "But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

( prophet Muhammad pbuh has taught many things as regard God, this life and the hereafter. An American Philip Kaitlin ranked him number one among the people who had more impact on the lives of people)

John 16:7-14 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you."

Jesus peace be upon him said he shall not speak for himself and whenever Muhammad wants to speak he start with the name of Allah the merciful Bismilahi Ramon Raheem. Jesus also said he shal glorify me islam is the only religion that Gives glory to Jesus by saying peace be upon him each time his name is mentioned . Chai! See Blasphemy grin grin grin

The 'Comforter' here is the Holy Spirit. He came immediately after Christ left and met the disciples at the Upper Room where they all caught speaking in tongues.

The Comforter was to TEACH THEM ALL THINGS AND BRING ALL THINGS TO REMEMBRANCE WHAT CHRIST TAUGHT THEM. Here's a quick one;

1. Did the Bible mention Mohammed coming afterwards since you picked your quote from the Scriptures?
2. Are the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus and Mohammed the same in any way?
3. What was it Jesus taught that Mohammed came to remind the people about.

You honestly gave me a good laugh cheesy cheesy
