Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by aginamuk: 1:38pm On Dec 01, 2009
Please has anyone heard anything about the IT Systems Support Analyst position that was advertised alongside the Trainee IT Professional position?
Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by zeedee(f): 5:08pm On Dec 03, 2009
Calculators are allowed for the numerical test. In fact they will give you one if you dont have but I recommend you bring yours.
Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by celemel(m): 9:51am On Dec 04, 2009
Calculators are NOT allowed. U use only HB pencil. The test is tasking, challenging and very interesting. Time is very short. Its 3 parts: Verbal, Numerical and Abstract. No skills-related questions. And, the numerical are all based on statistical analysis of graphs, charts and polygons. Goodluck!
Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by aginamuk: 9:55am On Dec 04, 2009
Thanks Celemel but what is the source of your information?
Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by zeedee(f): 11:58am On Dec 04, 2009
Well when i wrote it their test earlier this year, we used calculators. It was for engineers so maybe that's why our responses are different Celemel?
@ Poster: best of luck.
Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by ojesymsym: 5:52pm On Dec 04, 2009
someone suggested boosting up ur knowledge on computers and networking, cant say if it is true, just be guilded.
Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by celemel(m): 8:21pm On Dec 04, 2009
Source of my info? Well, I wrote mine on Dec 3, 2009. (yesterday). The test is conducted by SHL, USA. I bet,you can't finish half the numerical test questions in 2x the time alloted. Each part is alloted 20 mins. NO calculators are allowed!
Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by aginamuk: 8:38pm On Dec 04, 2009
Thanks celemel. Please were there questions relating to computers? How many sections total and how many questions in each/total?
Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by celemel(m): 8:40pm On Dec 04, 2009
verbal=40, numerical=40, abstract=60. Total time=60mins (20 for each part). Nothing related to computer.
Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by aginamuk: 9:21pm On Dec 04, 2009
Thanks! Was it computer based or paper based? Sorry I may be asking too many questions.

Please has anyone heard anything about the IT Systems Support Analyst position that was advertised alongside the Trainee IT Professional position?

Have they been invited too for their own test. Has anyone been invited or written the test?

Hey Mekenry, I just found some new info. I applied myself for the same job and was not called even though I think I am over-qualified for the job. Here is some new info from the ExxonMobil website:

Aptitude Testing

In all cases, entry-level job applicants are subjected to a standardized aptitude test and only those who score at or above the pre-established cut-off mark are shortlisted for the second level of testing. HR determines cut-off marks in consultation with representatives of the hiring department.

Skill Test

A skill test is usually administered for those who are advanced past the aptitude test; especially for Medical, Engineering, Geoscience, Computer Applications, Accounting and other Technical positions. This stage assesses the technical knowledge of candidates in their area of expertise. This test is administered by our Technical Training Unit, the hiring department, or an authorized external consultant. In each case, HR coordinates and supervises the testing. Only candidates who meet the pre-determined cut-off mark for the skill test are invited for an oral interview.

What this means is that WE (the experienced guys/girls) are not required to take the aptitude test. Let's hope we get called for a SKILL TEST sometime. I hope this answers your question.
