Who do you think would win in a face off between this two wild beast?
Bear in mind that the two of them are fighting at 100% HEalth.

Bears have the most messed up brain-function in all of the animal kingdom. When a bear is angry, huge portions of its brain simply shut off.

The neurological activity becomes concentrated in a very limited portion of the brain--the part which deals with self-preservation.

Self-control and decision-making go out the window, and when a bear is in fight mode it (neurologically speaking) can neither hear nor feel

nor taste nor smell. It has only tunnel vision, and whatever is in that vision has the complete attention of the bear until the brain activity of the bear returns to normal.

That is why bear deterrent spray only works if you use it *before* the bear goes into attack mode, and in such a manner as to not put the bear into attack mode. Once the bear is pissed off, it is useless.

Scary fucking animals, bears.

The bear would only have a chance if it was a mother bear with cubs nearby.
Single female or male, it has no chance against a silverback.

Answer: Silverback Gorilla

Lol.

I don't think gorillas are much better. Their males. They tend not to be very sane. Rampagers.

The bear would have the height-weight advantage, but I think an animal with opposable thumbs and a form of intelligence can do some damage, or at least escape a bear in switched-off-brain mode.

There's a very significant weight difference. Extra persistent 400lbs slamming into a gorilla can be bad. But an animal that can pound on opponents and rip them without claws must be pretty aggressive. That strength is insane.

Bear or gorilla?
