Hi people,

So, I applied for the Etisalat Prize In Literature For Flash Fiction and I'm going to NEED votes to move to the next stage.

So please, tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a brother and tell a cousin to help move Safari to the next stage of the competition by voting for my story.

It's titled BLISS:

This is the story:

He loves me. I know he does.

He may not show it in the conventional way; he doesn’t write me sweet words nor does he buy me scented flowers, he doesn’t speak words to me to keep me awake at night, pondering on the vast possibilities that lie ahead of our love, but he loves me.

He’s not spontaneous in his ways, I don’t get any surprise visits or unexpected gifts, affectionate touches are sparse in our relationship, he doesn’t show me off to friends and family, but I know he loves me.

My sister sits in front of me, reeling out all the reasons why I shouldn’t be with him. She’s convinced I’ve lost my mind or he’s cast some sort of spell on me, after all, why will I consciously be with a man who constantly undermines me, a man who is quick to degrade me in the presence of others, a man who fails to acknowledge that I have a mind of my own, but expects me to worship the ground upon which he walks.

She doesn’t understand him like I understand him, she speaks out of ignorance, I do not expect her to see the good in him like I see it. She may not approve of my relationship, but I’m beginning to think I may not need her approval either.

He’s told me his plans for us; we’ll be out of this country by tomorrow, to start a new life in a new country, away from those who do not approve of our love. I cannot wait to leave with him.

For today, I grant my sister the audience she needs, but my mind is on tomorrow, when I finally start a new life with the man I love

Gosh!! Your story is so touching and romantic. Please can you finish it already?

I've been touring the Literature section looking for a writer who meets my taste of writing. I've found one in you Safarigirl.

I'll be willing to pay you, if you accept to edit my on-going work.

Meanwhile, how do I vote? I clicked on the link and saw a copy of this story there too. Where next do I click?
