New here, I'm a Black American and signed up on this forum because I wish to dialog with Black Africans about the global condition of black people. I'm here out of respect. I wish to share my views and also learn from yours.

Black people can be bigoted/prejudiced, meaning not liking someone or mistreating someone based on color. Here in America however, many Black Americans view racism as something different. Racism is not only being bigoted/prejudiced, but also having the power to put massive action behind that bigotry/prejudice.

What are the ways that white racism can adversely affect the lives of black people? In the 9 main areas, which include Economics, Education, Entertainment, Labor, Law, Politics, Religion, Sex, & War, white people dominate Blacks/Non-Whites globally.

On the flipside, what are the ways that blacks adversely affect the lives of white people in those areas?....

It's a power dynamic, in which black people, regardless of country/tribe/state, currently have no ability to dominate whites like they do us.

Someone also mentioned the success of Black celebrities in America as if that equalizes Blacks to whites. However, still, the power dynamic is 99% of the time always in place. Sure Snoop Dogg is worth 113 million dollars, but his boss David Geffen is worth 6.7 billion. There is history as to why Blacks haven't been able to equalize themselves with whites in America such as Black Wall Street, Rosewood, Knoxville and many other communities where blacks created thriving businesses and economies that were destroyed, literally bombed by whites. The movement for equal rights in the 60's led to blacks becoming MORE dependent on whites rather than building their own. And this was done through covert AND overt practices.

Hi @cashwhisperer, I was happily reading and laughing at the many responses to this thread but I just could not ignore yours.
First of all welcome and I sincerely hope you enjoy it and have some meaningful interactions. Just remember, 'Skin folk ain't necessarily kin folk'. All sorts are here too.

It is staggering that many people, despite the evidence before them, cannot see that we are literally at war and losing badly. That we have survived everything so far is either dumb luck or superhuman strength. Either way, it is on us to wake up and quick.

Animosity between any two people is a human condition and would not normally be a big problem but as you've alluded, it becomes an issue when there is an imbalance of power/resource. In the same way that superior weapons (Muskets vs spears ) led to the overrunning of Africa for colonisation and slavery, so it does today with military might.

Weaponry is of course not limited to guns/bombs . Economic, educational and biological warfare have all been visited on other human beings (and continue to be). I wonder how many here even know about the Tuskegee Syphilis experiment or the government-abetted flooding of particular neighbourhoods with drugs in the US? and for the smug mainland Africans, experiments with unapproved drugs , food dumping and other economic sabotage in the name of missions/ aid on Africans in Africa.

In short, the winner gets the spoils, gets to write history from his perspective and push his own agenda. With unchecked power, one-sided views are entrenched and legitimised. Morality has never or ever will feature. That should explain why no reparation /apology for slavery or colonisation will ever come.

If we put all that down to an unfortunate past, what pisses me off is that the future looks even bleaker and the fault for that is squarely on us. Put simply, are not helping ourselves. I don't have time to elaborate on individual points but if I were in government, the Makings of a Slave and the Mis-education of the Negro (astonishing how many of the points in the books apply to this very day) are two books, along with studies on African renaissance heroes (Lumumba, Nkrumah, Sankara and many more) I will have on the syllabus instead of the glorification of others (yes my sister even in Africa, we worship others grin grin).

That may help in getting heads right before we even begin to lift ourselves up but, as the saying goes 'if you want to hide something from black folks, hide it in a book or give them a Bible / Quran and voila!, stupidity continua ' grin (OK, a bit of artistic license there, but you get the point)

b.t.w Chimamanda was right, like insulting someone and accusing them of not having a sense of humour if they don't laugh along, those that set the tone of the Trump campaign and stand to gain 'their glory/country back' (oh, the irony) should not get to decide what is offensive. To allow that would be to give convenient selective morality a pass.

That was why I said I got her to a point... Not disputing anything you have stated. On the contrary I quite agree that there is a huge disparity between Black racism and White racism... however a lot of us Blacks say that sanctimoniously with accepting that we are capable of same.

So you believe whites are the reason why blacks are unsuccessfull?

Why are their no first class black nations? even in black countries without whites.

Well, I didn't vote for Trump or Clinton, because they're two sides of the same coin. That's the illusion. The lowest common denominator is white supremacy. Trump was chosen by the elite, not by the people. The electoral college picked Trump, not the people because Hillary won the popular vote. Can you name one person on the electoral college? I bet you don't even know who they are. It won't matter who gets into office, the same elitist, corporate agenda will apply- dominating non-whites of the planet. Obama? Same story with a twist...a soft, gentle black face on what was realistically the same policies as George W. Bush. And have you seen the people Trump is assembling for his cabinet?

I agree many people don't know who the enemy is, but many are starting waking up, which is why Trump was put in place to paint the illusion that here was a champion for the people that's a Washington outsider. But Trump is as much a part of the elite circle as the rest. Trust me.

My exact thoughts.

Thanks! I agree with everything you said. The one thing that keeps whites in power is that regardless of Republican vs. Democrat, Liberal vs. Conservative, North vs. South (here in America), they have a collective desire to NOT be under our control. And they do everything to protect that power, which is why the US spends more on the military than the next 10 most powerful countries combined. All other ethnic groups put skin first here in America. Our own infighting, which I question if this is genetically embedded in us, is what in large keeps us from making progress. But also, divide and conquer is a tool of white supremacy. They burn midnight oil figuring out ways to keep us fighting each other, so we're not fighting them. It's social engineering on the highest level. And we're the lab rats.

Yes, considering all the historical evidence I believe whites are the reason blacks are unsuccessful. And I think we add onto it by falling for game they play on us. The triangle slave trade was where Europeans came to Africa for slaves, took them to America to cultivate sugar cane, shipped the sugar cane to Europe to be made into rum, and finally took the rum to Africa to trade it for more slaves to take to America to pick sugar cane, to take to Europe...you get my point. They ran a hustle and it seems the Africans didn't know that they were giving away their greatest resource in the equation, the people.

However, once the Black Americans were captured, the struggle has been to escape their control. And like I said, they burn midnight oil making sure their keep us in check.

These and many more points are all mentioned in those old books and discussed maintaining it for just two generations and it gets so embedded in the subjects that it becomes self-perpetuating. In effect, the subjects become willing slaves with no need for interference at all.

That is what gets me mad. Fool me once shame on you, but fool me continuously, then not only is it a shame on me, I damn well deserve it.
We need complete re-orientation and must discard so many things including the fake religions. Try telling that to a continental or diasporan African and watch the confusion borne of incomprehension on their faces. grin cheesy. That's how embedded it is.

The self-perpetuating aspect is sooooo true. It explains not only the behaviour of African Americans but also Africans in Africa and hence our place in the world.

Slavery has existed in Africa for hundred of years before the whiteman came to Africa.
Their are millions of middleclass and millioniare African Americans are they also marginalized?
What has stopped Liberia and Haiti from been Successfull since they are all black nations with no white to discriminate them?
Liberia had independence in 1847, while Haiti had theirs in 1804.

Most black people in America are in poverty, the middle class is slipping into poverty, and yes there are black millionaires, but compare that to the number of white billionaires. In 200 years, let's say money has inflated to the point where there are many white trillionaires, but only a few black trillionaires and mostly 10-11 digit billionaires. It's the RATIO that shows you how the power dynamic still exists. Yes they are marginalized, because the moment many of them try to help their people thy usually are plotted on to be taken down. A black american celebrity has a better chance of building a successful school for black children in Africa before he/she can in the United States.

Haiti is still paying reparations to France for defeating them. Look up Bill Clinton's policies towards Haiti. I'm not sure about Liberia. But I do know that Liberia was established by America, so the basis of it was white supremacy. Hasn't the whole issue in Liberia been conflict between the Blacks that went back vs. the native Africans? Educate me on it, because I don't know all of the history. But I do know, that America has a history of intervening in Liberia when it came to conflict with native Africans indigenous to the land.

On the surface it looks like black people are doing well, but let me put it this way-- In 1865, Black Americans owned 0.50% of America. But 150 years later, how much do Black people own? Still 0.50% of America. It isn't because black people haven't tried to make progress. After the Civil War black people had 100 years of Jim Crow laws while white people had a 400 year head start to get themselves established. At the same time, in 1865 the slaves were valued at a 5th of America's wealth. Now imagine if black people owned 20% of America rather than 0.50%.

Slavery in America wasn't just indentured servitude, it was chattel slavery where black people were treated like animals. In many cases, blacks were treated worse than white people treat their pets. There are cases where black babies were fed to alligators. Have you ever seen Goodbye Uncle Tom? It's one of the most accurate depictions of slavery in America.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHEu-FE7Cpw

My point is that the whole experience of Black people in in America is coming out of being reduced to an animal and slowly through great strides black people have somewhat rebounded, but it's on very shaky ground. The illusion of black millionaires and even a Black president doesn't change the fact that the power relationship hasn't changed. It's just more covert now than overt. Where are most Black millionaires getting their money from? White people. And with that, they are limited in how much they can say and do unless they want to go back to being poor. Black Americans are 13% of the population yet, 40% of the prison population. It isn't because black people commit more crimes than white people. That's been proven.

Yes, black people globally need to get our shit together, but by no means is this completely our fault. Regardless of the past, I think we must be in the mentality of solving our own issues and creating our own global economy.

The question is can blacks compete with Whites? the answer in affirmative is No.

Haiti had the capacity to build a great nation despite the Debt. but no they didn't by starting on a wrong footing. the first president decleared himself emperor for live ,no rule of law and order setting a bad precedent.
What about Liberia with all their mineral wealth nothing to show same issue of blackman's greed and selfishness.

The disparity you see between White and blacks are as a result of the difference b/w IQ between the races.
You will agree with me that Whites are pace setters no even Asians can compare to them in terms of contribution to present civilization.

Blacks need to face reality and stop this comparism ,rather humble ourselves and learn and utilize our resources for our good.

Nigeria has the 7th largest gas reserve in the world but cannot boost of up to 10% electricity capacity for its citizens. this is not becos of the whites as you will want to presume. all over Black Africa they have one thing in common poverty, corruption, ingnorance. even blacks in US are not left out they have showed same attitude and setrotype.
