what made u think it was there in the first place.
Gen 1:7-9 does not depict a portal, and most flat-earth christians say the passage of the van-allen belt leads to heaven, this seems coherent with the bible, so how is yours unique?

Where is this portal now?
It was clearly visible to the natural eyes, since these men embarked on the tower building mission.

The part of Christ's physical body supposedly walking into the sky is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. And now, they claim there's a portal. So now that we have airplanes and spaceships, how come none of them have entered the portal

Its very obvious those people thought the sky was heaven, period

I think you should actually research on this and stop asking irrelevant questions .
I didn't ask any questions. And I have researched, you should too without bias.
Read about how your bible was discovered and made. How chapters passed through villages and towns each removing and adding for it to fit with their ideals.
How you only GI to church on Sunday rather than Saturday, because of a pagan sun God the Romans worshipped. How most of the history of Jesus was copied from other religions. Downright lies abound in his stories.
Most importantly I want you to remember that the Egyptians once thought there God's were real as did the Greeks and Mayans and so do you.
If you were born in a different time or place you would have been worshipping a different God by now.

Please don't misuse the word "logic" . Pay close attention please .

God is not a denizen of this universe , he dwells in an immaterial realm , in a different dimension .

Portals are gateways or doorways to different dimensions , different locations in the universe or outside it . Alien visitation stories or visits from extra-dimensional beings always include the use of portals as means of getting to earth and back to their abode .

So I simply applied the same reasoning here in the cases of the Towel of Babel , the Taking of Enoch and Elijah and the Ascension of Christ .

If it wasn't his physical body then why did he ask Thomas to touch him? Apart from that, who told you that the portal was defunct? Is it because technology has now reached a point where we can investigate the portal, thereby making you reach the conclusion that it is defunct? Just like no real miracle e.g parting of the red sea has been performed since the invention of cameras.

Its very much logical to say that they believed the sky was the limit and it led to heaven. You can even see how they described the 'stars in the sky' earlier in the old testament, not knowing that the stars are actually burning masses just like our own sun, some even bigger than our sun

1 Corinthians 15:51-54
51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. 54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.”

Its called the resurrection body which is totally different from the physical body . Jesus had to retain the scars in order to prove to his disciples that it is He who has resurrected .

The portal has served its purpose , so its now defunct . But some conspiracy theories surmise that there are still existent portals to other dimensions . Ever heard of this

The following is 1963 Survey on Majority Of Israeli Jewish Youth showing the depths to which indoctrination can go.

Read carefully

The first part of the first text presented to the children read:

You are well acquainted with the following passages from the book of Joshua: “So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets; and it came to pass when the people heard the sound of the trumpet and the people shouted with a great shout and the wall fell down flat, so that they people went into the city every man straight ahead and they took the city. And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass with the edge of the sword. (VI, 20, 21) And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword and the kings thereof he utterly destroyed and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.”
After reading the passage, the children were asked the following questions:

1. Do you think that Joshua, and the Sons of Israel acted right or not? Explain your view.

2. Suppose the Israeli army conquers an Arab village in battle. Do you think it would be proper to act against the inhabitants as did Joshua with the people of Jericho and Makkedah? Explain your view.

600 of the children expressed total approval of Joshua’s destruction of Jericho and the application of his methods to the Arabs. Only 200 totally disapproved while 200 expressed mixed feelings — either partial approval or disapproval.

The same children were then presented with a version of the same story taken from ancient Chinese history:

General Lin, who founded the Chinese kingdom some 3000 years ago went to war with his army to conquer them a land. They came to some great cities with high walls and strong fortresses. The Chinese War God appeared to General Lin in a dream and promised him victory, ordering him to kill all living souls in the cities, because these people belonged to other religions. General Lin and his soldiers took the towns and utterly destroyed all that was therein, both man and woman, young and old, and ox and sheep, and ass with the edge of the sword. After destroying the cities they continued their way conquering many countries.
Only 70 children among the group of over 1000 totally approved of General Lin’s methods. 750 totally disapproved while the rest expressed mixed feelings.

Here is a breakdown of Tamarin’s findings:

A = total approval

B = partial approval or disapproval

C = total disapproval

On the Joshua question: (A) 60% (B) 20% (C) 20%

On the General Lin : (A) 7% (B) 18% (C) 75%

Why did a majority of the children support applying Joshua’s destruction of Jericho to the Arabs, while strongly rejecting the methods of the non-Jewish General Lin? Here are a few of the children’s justifications:

The Israeli army would have acted rightly if it acted towards the Arabs as Joshua acted towards the people of Jericho and Makeddah. I think so because if they would have left the people and the city, the Arabs would have invaded the city and fought them.

I think they acted well, as Joshua did, because the Arabs want us to believe in their idols.

Joshua and the Sons of Israel did not act well, as they could have spared the animals for themselves.

Joshua acted properly because the people who inhabited the land were of a different religion, when Joshua killed them he wiped their religion from the earth.

How quickly they saw the barbaric nature of the Chinese actions but never saw the same when it came to the biblical Joshua. This is what religion does, it clouds our judgment of even the most ruthless acts. Anything justified by God must be right, people have used this to justify slavery and in some cases genocide.

The Israeli youths might have actually had a fair excuse given they are supposed to be distant descendants of the biblical Jews. What's troubling is that I'm 100% sure that If this same question were given to Nigerian children with a fair Knowledge of the bible the result would have been more or less the same. They would see the acts of Joshua as good and that of the general as evil. Truly sad.

But what's even more troubling (I know right, what could be more troubling?) If this same poll was given to Nigerian adults the result would have again been more or less the same, rational educated Nigerian adults would have seen no problem with Joshua's actions. Even on this very thread I'm sure there are people that will defend Joshua and his sponsored genocide, because they were all taught religion.
And that is most troubling.

So guys what do you think, should we really teach our children religion?

I know for fact (on the basis of research findings in Behavioural Neuroscience), that religious beliefs are inimical and inhibitory to balanced mental functions.

Religious beliefs creates bunch of illusionary and delusionary entities. Who are themselves unaware, of how unconstrained they are in their weird behaviors.

The attitude of using mere God idea to define how you perceive, relate and accept fellow human, is disgusting and distasteful.

There's is no way that i will ever wished that children, are taught such subject as horrific and despicable as God idea.

I don't even know what to make of this new silliness from our new resident star trek evangelist. KingEbukasBlog just keep quiet and shut up if you have nothing to say instead of inventing new conspiracies that do not even make any sense to you. That was how you were saying that the serpent that convinced Eve to eat the fruit in the garden of Eden is some kind of hominid. Always inventing and throwing one kind of conspiracy or the other and looking for what will stick. Quit embarrassing your self. You aren't a Jew or a Roman so I wonder why you are going to these great extent to defend their mythology and legends.

He's always trying to forcefully mix christianity which is a fate based religion together with science which is an evidence based field of knowledge there by creating his own new gospel which neither the bible nor science supports.
