Ok i'm a fan of horror movies, after watching several horror movies overtime, i have been able to identify some common cliche, and it makes the movie so predictable..

1) A woman or a girl is always the last survivour.. Like why everytime? Men are not just capable of surviving horror movies. They get killed off. Chai..

2) The car wont just start until the killer or villian reaches for the door.. So them jazz the car abi wetin?

3) So you are in a rest room with a mirror washing ur face and the moment u raise ur head, gbam, u must see the killer..

4) if you have sex or wear skimpy clothes, you gonna die.. This one is just so common and annoying. Does this show that having sex is so wrong, and u must be punished for it?

5) so the girl hides from the killer, but will still whimper or make a sound loud enough for the killer to hear.. This one sha.. If i were in that position, i dont think i will breath sef.

6) The killer always possess mad skills or out of the world abilities.. Chai, like throwing an axe or a knife so accurately to hit any target, surviving being hit by a car at 70mph. Chai, i give up..

7) when the killer is shot or incapacitated, and the actor goes out to make a call for the police, then a second later, the actor cant find the body.. Like why cant the actor just keep an eye on the body or finish the villian off? Hian..

8 ) the girl runing away from the killer and hides behind a door.. The killer tries to open the door by banging or shaking the door vigorously.. Then all of a sudden, the noise stops, the girl slowly opens the door and there u have it, killer appears and grabs her hair.. This one too common.

9) the girl walks close to the supposedly dead body of the villian, but gets grabbed by the ankle..

10) if a minor actor or an extra gets bitten in a zombie movie, he turns immediately, but if its a main star, it takes the whole movie before he turns.. Why always this cliche?..

yea, also, every 8 yr old girl befriends the ghost trying to kill her family.. Instead of shouting for help or raising an alarm, she draws paintings of herself and the ghost on the wall in her room.. This one is very common.

The light always goes out after a weird noise coming from the cellar or the basement.. Instead of getting the hell out of the house, hell no, the actor grabs a torch and proceeds to investigate.. Then shortly after he hears another creepy sound or thump, the torch begin to flicker or goes out, and thats it.. The actor is dead meat..

Horror movies are becoming too similar this days, they mostly deal with evil spirits possession it's boring.
Op you forget to mention when the main female character is with her friends before they are been killed, she won't fight or act to defend herself or her friends all she does is to scream when ever the horror character appears. But if the horror character finish slaying all her friends you will see her miraculously developed some high tech intelligence skills of fighting techniques which Rambo himself will marveled by it. She will end up slaying the evil character all alone, you begin to wonder why didn't she save all her friends right from the beginning with the kind of skills she had.

1) The females are always screaming and waiting to be caught or killed, they hardly make any move to defend themselves or their friends.

2) They always travel to some deserted or abandon area.

3) The door always refuse to open when the person is being attacked in a room.

4) They always see the signs of danger but they will still go where it is.

number 2 is spot on.. They wander off to a rundown gas station or a creepy house and ask for directions.. This one is just like asking for the direction to a place where they can be chopped off one by one..

Horror movies are all the same with different actors.

And horror movies dont just end like that...you will definately see a sign that the killer is coming back, or at the ending the last survivor just get killed by the same bad guy he killed off earlier and gbam! The movie just end.... Leaving you to want more.... I dont watch any other genre other than horror.i love horror movies af.

1. There is always a group of teens or 20 somethings going on a trip to some deserted place for the weekend. And yes, they start getting killed one by one in the film. Like why can't people just enjoy their weekends in the city?

2. Regarding number 1 above, the black man in the group always gets to die first

3. So the killer is with the last man standing yeah, Oya kill am once and for all. No, he stands with his weapon and starts telling the main actor his life story, why he is kills people, what he had for breakfast blah blah blah...and then of course the actor uses that time to finish the killer off

4. All vehicles never start, all cell phones never have service, all doors are always locked, there is never electricity, it always rains heavily at the end, most girls must wear skimpy clothing or show some form of UnCloth in d film, the creature killing them doesn't exist in any biology textbook

5. In all Excorsim films the possessed person is usually cleansed but then the demon enters the body of another unsuspecting innocent person...and then the film ends

6. Only girls scream in horror films. Yet u need to hear my former 30 something year old neighbour scream his head off when he encounters a rat at the backyard!
