Money plays a vital role in the gospel evangelization especially as a ministry grows. Money is used to build worship centres, purchase state of the art public address equipment/musical instruments, organise crusades, print gospel tracts and other Christian literature, pay full time ministry staff, support local and foreign missions, help the needy etc. As such a lot of money is involved in church administration or if you like business. It is only immoral if the money is being misappropriated or used for personal aggrandisement by a particular leader or leaders. Yes, Church is a serious business - God's business (Luke 2:49). The eternal fate of billions of people depend on it. However, it should not be a personal or family business enterprise. The major objective of starting a Church or gospel ministry should be to win souls ie help sinners find the Saviour and be turned from sinners on the way to perdition to saints on their way to eternal life. Then the physical, health, emotional and material needs of the people should also be taken care of through faith building, prayers, counselling and caring. Taking people to heaven should be the ultimate goal of the Church. As such, messages on repentance, practical right-living, godliness, faith and faithfulness, examplary lifestyles, service to God, love and living to help others should be the emphasis of our preachings. Of course, the messages have to be backed up with prayers by the hearers for divine grace and enablement. See you in heaven.

I don't get you. What do you mean? Are you saying that God should personally come down and build worship centres? No, He has blessed many of us with health and opportunities to make legitimate money. So we are bound to reciprocate His kind gestures by using part of what He has blessed us with to serve Him. It is not compulsory though.

A lot of people are concerned and perplexed at the same time how Church has been turned to a means of becoming super rich at the expense of the worshippers or adherents. Never mind. God is the ultimate Judge. All the same, money is necessary for Church administration and carrying out of the Great Commission of winning souls.

That is a good and commendable practice. It helps remove every form of suspicion. It also encourages members to continue giving knowing fully well that their money is being properly utilised.
