That Ibadan centre was a farce.

It's obvious Ibadan was the most difficult center. Poor organization. People were still waiting around 10:30pm at night. Smh. Nigeria which way forward embarassed

Yes, Ibadan centre was really bad. Abuja wasn't any better either but had lesser crowd than IB. I think the last batch in Abuja finished before 5pm or thereabout. NRC should have prepared better, knowing the number of people that applied (350,000) and knowing that gate crashing is a possibility in interviews conducted in Nigeria, owing to the high rate of unemployment and penchant for FG jobs. One of the Chinese workers in a CCECC truck was seen taking a video coverage of the long queue of applicants under the scorching heat of the Sun (probably in awe or in shock) and I tell you Abuja weather is no joke in terms of heat. About the net salary, yes it's a little lesser than 50k. The annoying part was when a staff kept yelling about the number of applicants, the rate at which calls and letters were flooding in from the National Assembly for favorite candidates, yet the corporation will only employ 339 new staff.

The massive turnout of applicants at every recruitment validates the fact that the increasing rate of unemployment is a time bomb waiting to explode if not adequately checked by the government. Many are unemployed and others underemployed. We can only hope for the best.

I also saw that on one of the national daily newspapers several weeks before the just concluded aptitude test. But sit down and think. Does the NRC have the financial strength to employ 200,000 staff? Even NNPC, FIRS, NIMASA, NPA and other big revenue earners for government do not have a staff strength of up to 200,000. Not even the Police, NSCDC or any paramilitary force with presence in all 36 states can boast of that much. I'm not sure even the Army can boast of that much. Do you know what the wage bill of 200,000 staff will be even at an average of N35,000 monthly? How much does NRC even generate into the Federation Account? If NRC was in the league of big earners, dont you think a BSc graduate will earn above the 49k currently being earned. NRC has a current staff strength of over 7,000. Abeg how many routes have they opened in recent time to warrant employing 200,000? Abeg I no wan laugh. Just leave me. NRC like NIPOST has the potentials but is not there yet.

339? That can't be right. How would invite thousands of candidates for 339 jobs? Anyway, I thought this is mass recruitment.

Nigerians and rumours. From what valid source did you get the net salary? There is NO federal government job in Nigeria that pays B.Sc holders less than N80,000 for a start; anything less than that is product of (internal) financial corruption in that particular organization. Or, are you telling me a Nigerian Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer with a WAEC that receives at least N47,000 monthly earns more than a B.Sc holder? You people just spread rumours anyhow and discourage the ignorant.

This is no rumour because I actually saw a worker in Ibadan during the test and he confirmed it. He said they're receiving the same salare structure as it was b4 minimun wage wae reviewed. He also said moves were on to review it this time.

A lot of Nigerian workers are good in hiding the real salaries they earn. I repeat, no GL 08 worker in any federal parastal/corporation in Nigeria earns less than N80,000 monthly. Anything less than that is a product of internal fraud.

OK, go and ask those who participate in NIS recruitment. Also find out from FIRS how many applied for their last recruitment and how many they intend to recruit. If they dont send invites now, you will still say they were not fair.

4get my brother. If they actually need 339 peoople, why can't they just invite 1000 or 2000 applicants for the test?

If the NRC only need 339 as some people here have claimed and the MD/CE come to public domain to say they needed 200,000 people to join them. It's simply mean we have a long way to go in making this country a better nation.

What Grade Level is "the man" at? Believe whatever you believe from "the man," however I don't believe that. How come only Nigerian Railway Corporation has not implemented the new salary structure since 2011 when other federal parastals/corporations have been paying their staff according to the new Act? The NYSC Board that does not generate any tangible revenue to the Federal Government pays its GL 08 staff at least N80,000 more, talk more of a federal Railway Corporation that makes cash daily from goods and passengers.

If the NRC pays GL 08 between N47,000 and N50,000, then it is a FRAUD. No federal parastal pays its GL 08 below N80,000; the worst is N75,000! People just like to carry rumours and discourage others.
