The rule is very simple,ur hair must not Be long to touch the collar Of ur shirt. The female personnel are aware. But the choose to disobey. His action was an act of enforcement to show other commanders that are sympathizers to the female in the Corp.

There are also rules governing discipline and personal conduct that does not permit the kind of actions he took. Once again, this is not the FRSC school or training ground where cadets are subjected to 'indoctrination'. These are rank and file officer and service men under oath. They should be treated with respect and dignity. There are proper channels to punish and enforce discipline.

Once again I say, if Hameed Ali had been stripped to his boxers and forced into a Custom's uniform at the National Assembly grounds, what will you say. This is simply not acceptable in any service.

If physical force or the threat of it is used to establish discipline in every instance, abuse is bound to escalate and then you ask yourself where it ends. If he can show where it is explicitly written that he can cut the hair, or skirts, or whatever of men and women in the course of his duties, then he is free to do so, if not he is liable.

Though, in any Ministries in Nigeria Women are not allowed to put on certain type of cloth or hair because there were rules for it. but it is absurd if this punishment is allow for the offense of the officers.

What about telling those ladies to see him after the parade?

Was the form of acceptable hairstyle even made clear to all women?

If the lady was wearing a hijab covering her hair, would he ask her to remove it to check hair length? And then touch her to cut it if too long?

Very crude public display of "sergeant major" power.

There is also a disciplinary Code of Conduct. How discipline is to be enforced or you think just anything goes?

Did the Marshall adhere to that code, as the one correcting the erring female officer?

That should be the main issue.

To cut women's hair in the public. And you will desire, crave, beg, salivate to be called into the league of developed nations. Watch CNN for six months, no make it one year, ten years and seek these stories out of countries that are not primitive. Abeg go sidon.

By the way, which military have you served in, because if you haven't, you have no means of telling what discipline is and how to enforce it. It was a reckless, silly, stupid act and the man should be punished for bringing the Corps into disrepute.

And by the way can you explain what the hell this has to do with the safety of lives and vehicles on the highways. Can you correlate this senseless act with his mission brief.
I Thanks God for you
We still have some sane people in Nigeria.

I wonder how people can justify this

1. If thr was nothing wrong wen teachers cut pupils hair & nails in assembly then thr is nothing wrong here
2. If it was b4 2013 I would have said is sexual abuse for a man to do a female's job but now they said equality, so equality it is.
3. He isn't cutting hair but attachments. If them go leave make them buy another 1 wear

Rules are meant to be obeyed, before
you join the FRSC, you are given a
code of conduct book which you read
understand and sign. If you cannot
stick to the rule, you are made an
example to others. Thats what has
happened. Its better than a month
suspension without pay.

If that's the sanction, why are you complaining?

or how did you know the man was wrong? Do you know the laws of the FRSC or are you a member?

Rather than cutting her hair, the commander should have dismissed her undecided or query her... Cutting of hair looks like physical abuse

suspension without pay always does the magic.... not directly cutting the hair of married women

brother you've got it all wrong o

I've seen pictures of this before, I couldn't retrieve them

what took place was somewhat a ritual

looks like she join the FRSC and she needs to cut her hair down and her boss has to be the one to cut it

on those photos she was smiling everyone was in a celebration mood

just like people pouring you water when you graduate

or getting beaten when you enter the NDA

not like she's being punished for erring

You are a classic example of the failed reasoning I'm talking about..firstly you can't differentiate between a typo/autocorrect and a problem with use of English...hence you are a slowpoke..

So I'm not surprised that you are inferring "two wrongs "...like i said u are a slowpoke
