The bibke is clear.... Love your enemies. Feed them, cloth them not kill them. Pray for them, always conquer the evil with good. It is God's personal decision, emphasis on personal, to determine whom he destroys by fire. The one you call am enemies could be on his or her way to salutation. Just imagine if the Christian congregation prayed for holy ghost fire to kill Saul before he became Paul.

And BTW holy spirit doesn't kill. It's God's force to accomplish good things. I just dey pity these church goers. They don't read nor meditate. They only belive what they are told. Zombie
It's until u re faced with deep spiritual attack that u will know what's up. The enemy that doesn't want me to live will die before me

It's unbiblical:
"You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?" Matthew 5:43-48.

Where you quote are all talking about physical enemy but to fight spiritual enemy, eh! u may need spiritually weapon too. i pray u understand as quick as pnssible

Very often than none we hear many churches while praying against the enemies scream, "Holy Ghost...Fire!!!". My questions are these:
1. Can we ascribe what is Holy to destruction?
2. Why then do the believers sing "Holy Ghost fire, fire fall on me"?
3. Does the Holy Ghost do both the destructive work and the constructive work at the same time?
Pls I need clarification with Bible reference.
1. Pray so that you will not be a prey.

2. Since the time of John the Baptist, the kingdom of God suffereth violence and only....only....only.... *The Violent* taketh it by force.

Now let me tell you why you must raise your voice, call Holy Ghost fire to consume your enemies.
1. Jesus is coming soon, the devil is working extra hard.
2. You pity the devil, he destroys you.
3. According to the bible, this battle of the world isn't physical but against " Principalities and powers" hummmm......and you don't wanna bring fire down?
4. Demons are everywhere looking for the weak and feeble to occupy
5. Your enemies are not sleeping because of you, and you don't think fire should consume them?
6. Africa is highly consumed with all kinds of black magics and you are not calling fire? You are on your own o!
7. Foundational enemies, inherited enemies, self caused enemies following you around....okay na
8. As the children of God we must pray and pray just like Elijah did.
9. Our Father has nothing to do with lazy people or people who can't challenge their enemies through faith plus prayers.
10. Some sickness are spiritual, and if you don't bring fire down from Heaven the enemies behind those sickness might refuse to go!

We are in the era of Grace and it is a privilege to have such favour from Jehovah.
why pray for the destruction of ur enemy when our Saviour, Jesus Christ has instructed us to even love our enemies than our friends.
under the covenant of Promise, John 3 vs 16 has ultimately answered the question. Once u believe in Jesus Christ, everlasting life is assured and such person shall not perish because "He is the Truth, the Way and Life.
Pray for ur enemies to have a rebirth of Truth and call on the Holy Ghost fire to fortify u against the arrows of enemies.

Your enemies could be demons. You don't love demons, you don't pray for demons.

Eph 6:12 - For We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers, against principalities, against the rulers of darkness in high places.
Heb 12: 29- God is a consuming fire.
The holy spirit is also likened to fire.
Ex 13:21-22. God made a pillar of fire around the Israelites in the wilderness at night. Its for protection against the wild animals roaming about. This is likened to the Holy spirit. When travellers/hunters make fires in the forests at night, its to chase away wild animals while they're asleep. The bible equally likens the wild animals to principalities and powers/ evil spirits. The fire is to chase them.

Holy Ghost Doesnt have a burning or consming fire per se, what the apostle see physical was cloven tongues like as of fire, Holy Ghost fire is just a Description of experience, the Burning desire, a charge by the Holy Spirit himself not a Roasting fire

What is more appropriate is Fire of God
A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about. Psalms 97:3

Holy Ghost fire is biblical. Ask Elijah...

Psalm 11:6 says ; Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
Elijah uses fire not holy ghost fire. Holy ghost began his work after Jesus ascension to heaven
Re: Is it right to pray "Holy Ghost, Fire!" Against Enemies? by Nationalist1: 10:20pm On Apr 16, 2017
First of all, let me start by saying that it is not correct to say that Jesus Crist did not give us any prayer point. The truth is that He gave us the model for prayer in Matthew 6:9-15.

"9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

From the above Scriptures which are the very words coming from the mouth of Jesus Christ, we see that we start our prayers by thanksgiving and worship (verse 9), then invite God's Kingdom and will to take preeminence (verse 10), then ask for your needs on daily basis (verse 11), then forgiveness of sins (verses 12, 14 &15), then pray for deliverance from evil (verse13).

Plese take note of the emphasis in verses 14 and 15 above. Your forgiveness is dependent on your forgiving others who offend you.

The above is one leg of the Scriptures about the rightness or otherwise of calling down "Holy Ghost fire" upon one's enemies.

The account of the contest between the prophets of Baal (an idol) and the true God in 1Kings 18:19-40. It was on the sacrifice that was offered that Prophet Elijah called down fire and NOT on the people. However, he ordered the 450 prophets of Baal to be killed (verse 40). However, the same Prophet Elijah severally called down fire to consume 51 soldiers two times (2 Kings 1:9-15) making a total of 102 soldiers who were sent to arrest Prophet Elijah.

Therefore, there are times that in order for your destiny not to be cut short you will need to go "spiritually violent".

Jesus became "violent" in Matthew 21:12-13

"12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves."

One would have ordinarily thought that Jesus should only have spoken to those who sold doves and changed money in the temple without Him doing anything more, but no, He went physical; overthrew the tables and seats of the moneychangers and doves sellers respectively.

1. What do you think Jesus will do?

2. Do you want to be like Jesus?

3. Do you trust that God will do what's right?

4. Do you wish to see people saved, even those who you feel don't deserve saving?

The answers to these questions, will let you know, if you should wish your enemies dead, holy ghost fire or otherwise.

when I see comments like this from fellow Christians, I begin to wonder if celebrating Easter is right or wrong. 'cause it's almost like we didn't learn anything from that act of incomparable love.
.
Talking about Elijah.... you could as well slaughter a ram/lamb as burnt offering whenever you want to ask God for forgiveness of sin.

First all, There's even nothing like Holy Ghost. What we have is Holy Spirit. Ghost and Spirit aren't the same thing. Ghost is the dead coming back to life, which is unbiblical. Spirit is of God. He made it and has been using it.

So, Holy Ghost Fire is a lie. It was never mentioned in the bible.

My dear Op, better call on the Refiner's Fire to destroy every dross that wants to cover your glory. Your enemy who just despises you for you, for professing your faith, maybe persecuting you physically aren't the ones we're referring to. There are some people who have gone out of their way to go diabolical against you, to curse, consult spiritual media (witches, occults, demon possessed, familiar spirits, etc) to attack you. For these, you need spiritual warfare. You have to open your mouth to judge, condemn and invoke the killer side of God to work for you through the Holy Spirit (our comforter) in Jesus name. Take a cue from Paul who declared Elymas blind instantly for using spiritual means to hinder the gospel. So you can declare all your desires upon your enemies in life with God's word and it will come to pass because we have a name that is above every other name. I'll leave you with this and it's not old testament... Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you (2 Thessalonians 1:6).
Re: Is it right to pray "Holy Ghost, Fire!" Against Enemies? by Nobody: 10:54pm On Apr 16, 2017
There's nothing wrong in calling Holy Ghost fire. Mine you the judge who sends fire which we don't see physically is Yahweh. You can shout Holy Ghost fire million times but if Yahweh says no, there's nothing you and I can do. Now some persons here are quoting scriptures about praying for your enemies but they forgot that Jesus was referring to your neighbour that you have issues with. The adversary the devil is our enemy which believers should attack with prayers but some are ignorant to think that Lucifer would operate in it's form instead he uses human being. So when such being refuses to repent, Yahweh the righteous judge will consume such a person.
Now would you wait to be slaughtered like ram and then Yahweh avenge your death? Or take the bull by the horn to wrestle against demons in human form. For those against calling hHoly Ghost fire, hope you're ready to be used as sacrificial lamb. For those in support hope you're well equipped for the battle ahead and most be holy

HOly Ghost fire in itself is not unbiblical, as it's manifestation is seen at the Upper room at Pentecost. What is wrong however, is the motive and reason for calling on such fire by some Christians to "roast their enemies".
The only work I see in the Bible that "Holy Ghost Fire", described as "cloven tongues of fire" does is that it brings the power of God on a believing heart. I have never seen where destruction of enemies in the Bible was done by "Holy Ghost Fire". The only biblical references about a destructive fire were "fire from the Lord" which was called down by prophet Elijah on three occasions.
The Bible says we should love our enemies, and so, we don't try to kill them by calling fire or whatever means.
You can ask God to send fire (if you really need it, lol), but naming it Holy Ghost Fire is inaccurate.
Bottom line is, destructive fire CAN come from God, but not by the Agency of the Holy Spirit (Elijah) . However, constructive figurative fire can come upon men, but it does not destroy.

Shikenah.
Happy Easter

U are very correct but it's the "holy spirit" and not "holy ghost." The term "holy ghost" was used in king James' version (KJV)of the Holy Bible but was later rectified to "holy spirit" in the New king James' version (NKJV). "Ghost" and "Spirit" are not the same in meaning (check the dictionary or the encyclopedia for clarification) God bless u as u do so
