Top 4 Tips To Keep You Motivated During Job Search by generalbush(m): 9:01am On Apr 19, 2017
A delay in getting a job immediately after school is one that leaves many job seekers depressed, but I believe that these top 5 tips to keep job seekers motivated during job search would be of great help. The period of finishing school and getting a job is a pure delicate period that would go on to determine a lot of factors in your life.

Let’s look at it this way; do you know that your first job mostly determines the career path you would eventually take in life? This is the reason some people change job with ease and others find it very difficult to change their job and get a better one. This article wouldn’t just come in like a motivational write-up; it should also be seen as an eye-opener.

Pick Up a Skill and Learn

Learning a valuable skill while searching for a job and utilizing it after learning is something that helps motivate you to greater heights. Nothing frustrates a graduate more than waking up in the morning with nowhere to go and earn from.

The IT sector has been seen as the fastest growing sector in recent years, which is why I recommend learning an IT skill. I have included major skills that give you a job easily and the top IT centers to learn them from like I mentioned in this link http://topwritersden.com/top-it-institutes-in-nigeria/

Learning a skill especially an IT skill gives you the opportunity of becoming your own boss and work from the comfort of your bed.

Attend Free Seminars and Conferences

This tip wouldn’t just motivate you, it will also help you I the area of networking. You meet people who know people who can help you either secure a job or worst an Interview. I recommend attending seminars related to your career or the career path you wish to toll.

It helps you develop yourself and gives you something you can add up to your resume and present yourself as career driven personality.

It helps portray you to potential employers as someone who believes in self-development.

It gives you a sense of belonging when you are starting to feel depressed.

Locate a free seminar today around your comfort zone and do well to attend. You can find more of them on eventbrite.com.

Engage in Little Profitable Jobs

You should know that being a graduate in Nigeria doesn’t amount to a big fat pay slip or an automatic job. You don’t wait till you are hired by a big or small company before you start earning.

If you are a good sales person and have the ability to convince people, you can start selling Insurance or sell for people for commissions.

If you are ICT savvy, you can register on freelance sites and start doing legitimate jobs for a foreign client and you get paid in hard currencies.

If you can write, there are millions of blogs looking for people to write for them.

If you can drive, there are several rich men looking for drivers. It isn’t an insult because we all started from somewhere…

Just do something that keeps your mind motivated!!

Start Planning Your Career Path and Working towards It

What career path do you wish to undergo?

Do you have the necessary qualifications?

If you don’t, what steps should I take to get there?

What is the statistics of job opportunities there?

You get to realize that you end up not working in line with what you studied at the university. Most times as a result of the limited job opportunities around the course you studied. The period of job search should be utilized effectively to acquire extensive knowledge and gain the required certifications attached to it.

I studied Engineering, but given the fact that most firms require ridiculous years of experience from young Engineering graduates, I was forced to make a switch to marketing and it paid off. I added an IT certification (digital marketing) and it helped broaden my reach.

All these top 5 tips to keep job seekers motivated during job search should be implemented for those without jobs, who recently don’t have a job anymore and to those who are working but aren’t working.

.

Story.

The fear of being broke or zero job experience will keep you on your toes. What other motivation is greater than the need to gather job experience & some change in your pocket?
