This guy is playing smart. Ok mr clean, you have had the same wristwatch for 17 years, but you have the money to buy/rent such an expensive flat and leave it empty! Even the wristwatch you are touting, how much did you pay for it? Anyway, good luck as you kick start your campaign ahead of 2019.

You are the one who lacks understanding. ...... the reference of i once had no shoes story doesn't mean he is claiming to be poor, but to attract public affection.......he isn't materialistic yet he spends millions on rent for an apartment. You see, the lines are already being sold to people like you.

Keep deceiving yourself.... who would ve known that you own apartment in the same Ikoyi towers worth milions of naira. Yet you dont live in Lagos. Meaning out of greed you decided to be having houses and apartments in almost every big city in Nigeria. Imagine the cost of maintaining an apartment in Ikoyi towers of which you barely live up to 1 month in a year.

Instead of you to be telling people what you did for the good people of Anambra state in your 8years in office, you are deceiving urself and the gullible ones with peanut brains. Kwantinu!

No doubt some people could soon commit suicide over Peter Obi. For the first time they are seeing the real deal, a real self effacing politician who is not from their tribe. Please do not kill yourself. He has been a wealthy man for ages, and what is more, he would not still Nigeria"s money. And he has challenged the EFCC and all of you bigots to show it if he stole money. Until then, his profile will continue to rise and I am sure your deep corruption makes you think nobody can live without it.

Is he materialistic? No...how do I know? His government was a glaring evidence to all...

Is he rich?...Yes...how do I know? His investment and companies were already making waves long before he became governor especially in Lagos....

He is discussing his life here...which every SINCERE Anambra man can attest to...

So stop your delusion...you won't even know when you are being deceived or the contrary...that's why you guys follow Buhari around sheepishly

Guy nobody will use $600k as rent and then claim financial prudence. The worst is that he now claims to have paid and left it unoccupied.

Keep fooling yaself , you think I used the word bought in error ..No that apartment was sold to him d for 250 million naira then ..To even rent an apartment like that in Ikoyi cost over 120 thousand dollars annually that more than 40 million naira if you don't know
so even if he was not a Governor, would it be too expensive for a bank chairman to rent a luxury apartment for N40 million for his family? He is not saying he is poor, he is simply preaching prudence.

You must be a bachelor and have the mentality of a single person. If not you would factor wife and children in life's equations.
So if his daughter or wife or son is in lagos, where do you expect them to stay?

Smh abeg reason well before you talk rubbish. I didn't write anything concerning his wealth or if he was successful as a businessman or not. No change topic.
If he isn't materialistic as you claim, what does he need such apartment for? How often does he come to Lagos? Wouldn't it be cheaper if he stays in an hotel? Even if he stays in a luxurious hotel for a year, the bill won't amount to the rent for the flat in Ikoyi. I'm sure if you read this quote below, you will realise he is not only materialistic but a phony person.

Seriously, I will never understand Nigerian youths intent in rambling on frivolities. Most of them didn't even understand his statements or the point he made by citing those examples but want to quickly go on and analyse how his wristwatch is LV and how his expensive apartment @Osborne is about 200M per annum. Nigerian youths wake up ooo. What is it? Is it the recession? Is it hunger? Is it the poverty mentality? Out of all the points Mr Peter Obi made in his speech its only his self earned luxury that you are ranting about. I understand the desperate need by some of you guys to find a scapegoat and hang for all the hardships at this moment but how does one having his luxury based on his preference and with his money supposed to make you angry? if you've truly followed this man in politics, then you should understand that this right here is a well articulated man with a high level of intelligence and NO, I'm not just talking about the watch or shoes he mentioned and also "NO" this is not a paid post.

It's about time we opened our eyes to see through these politicians and sieve the wheat From the chaff. If he's vying for presidency, I'm so rooting for him personally, every well meaning Nigerian should. Maybe you will want to tell me that he's been planning for it since 17 years past which is why he's been using one wristwatch in order to make this reference right? Oh please!!! He's not just young but has proven himself to be a well grounded economist and a man of great wisdom which is what Nigeria needs right now. Your country is crumbling and all you could think of is why a rich man owns a luxurious apartment albeit having 2 pair of shoes and a wristwatch? It's called scale of preference in economics guys, you should try it sometimes. Shake these mentalities off you and focus, pls FOCUS.

P. S: Some people won't even read this comment to the end but will want to come for my head. Another example of the crass mediocrity and laziness brewing among Nigerian youths..., most don't read while majority read to reply without first understanding.
