I'm not an expert, but from the little i know, so many things are wrong with this your account..

1) Your Spellings are very bad bro.... How can you claim to be a programmer who can code with MySQL, and you can't even spell it correctly, too bad.... Secondly, It's specialist not "specilist", so many grammatical errors there, take out time and check it well...

2) I think as a beginner, It'll be better if you pose like a white person, your profile pic betrays that.. E no resemble white man at all.... Start with a foreign account and build from there, if eventually you are deported, it may not affect u much once you've had good reviews...

Please reread all my posts - I consistently said no to $5 jobs, I did not bid for them, I only bid for $50 or $100 jobs because I don't want to be that guy in a or b above.

You have to make a conscious choice to compete in the market based on price or quality or quantity

Do you want to be that guy who competes based on price or quality, I mean lower prices? It can be very destructive.

Make the choice now and remember everyone is willing to pay for perceived value, and what amounts to perceived value is different from A to B.

I am going to quote myself below for those must have missed that post, reread the post below, digest it, and find out where you wish to be and do everything in terms of positioning to find yourself there!

Build your services around your strongest assets - to illustrate, I am Nigerian, but I think in English and I speak English 1000% better than my native tongue. If I speak my native tongue, it is pretty apparent to native listeners, that I basically translated the thoughts from English to the native tongue.

In other words, there is very little difference between me and those British or American born English speakers, so I had to capitalize on that to earn.

If you know you are not 80% to 100% perfect with your written English, please don't offer writing services, learn something else (and get pretty good at it) and do something else, because even if you do get the writing jobs, you will lose out in the end due to lack of sufficient perceived value to the client, and you want to build a steady stream of repeat clients, not one-off jobs.

To stand out you have to be a specialist.

To make the big bucks, you have to stop being a generalist!

Whatever niche you are into, please become a thoroughbreed specialist in a narrow sector or area of that niche, and then you can command high prices. If it means getting certified, then by all means get certified.

Let me give an example.

Why should you write 500 words for $5, when there are people who write a page for as much as $50?

The key is this - don't be a generalist, be a specialist!

Guess what - less than 2 months on the platform and I have gotten my third order, and is not those orders where you work you heart out for $5.

I have not bought a single review.

This third order, I did not look for it, the client studied my profile and initiated a chat with me, because I am a specialist not a generalist. Guess what? I charged top dollar for it!

There is another issue.

Study the market.

Be realistic as to your skills and the value that a prospective buyer will place on them.

If your skills are top dollar skills, you will make top dollars,
If your skills are low dollar skills, you will make low dollars.

I followed that advice by settling on a skill I knew I could grow in, getting resources (free and paid for) and polishing my skills. I read and practiced until my head was about to explode. After this, I started applying for jobs. With my renewed confidence I repeated this to myself as I browsed through job listings - not every client is for me.

This way I have avoided low paying jobs. I started applying for jobs on Tuesday, April 11th (I am on UPWORK by the way). The one job I was selected for was my 3rd application, about 2 weeks ago. I have been busy ever since. The client raised my rate twice after seeing my first draft and is thinking of making me oversee and review submissions by other freelancers. We haven't settled on my rate for this task.

This is how @hiremyminivan has helped me, through motivation.

A fellow writer emailed passionately requesting for assistance.

He pleaded with me to help him earn decently, but when I studied his profile, I noticed a glarring problem, because his gigs were priced as follows:

3 gigs were offered at the rate of $5, so do the maths, how many $5s in $1000?
6 gigs were offered at the rate of $10, so do the maths, how many $10s in $1000?
2 gigs were offered at the rate of $15, so do the maths, how many $15s in $1000?

As far as I am concerned the odds are spectacularly stacked against him because he is competing on price instead of differentiation, and differentiation means he can charge ostentatious rates.

So you know yourself, please adjust your rates change the $5 to $50, change the $10 to $100 and change the $15 to $150 and give me feedback in 30 days time

If you are even more ambitious, change the $5 to $500, change the $10 to $1000 and change the $15 to $1,500, remember it is just an experiment, and so nothing stops you reverting to other prices later if the experiment fails

I reviewed your gigs and my suggestion would be for you to update your description and, if possible add some of your portfolio images. You're a new seller and you really need to work hard. as a new seller, all strategies sometimes seem not working due to the status of the account and the extreme competition. If you can further refine your gig and offer quick solutions to trending problems in your niche, you might be able to come out strong in no time.

don't relent, just get close to the buyers request section and bid on projects that you can fulfill.
