you're welcome, wishing everyone a successful camping.

Ondo state is a relatively peaceful state, with more of schools, can be extremely hot (coz it's the Sunshine State) and extremely cold (coz of the plenty mountains). And for the camp, located at Ikare Akoko, my advise is, don't expect the best and don't also expect the worst.

Ikare Akoko Orientation camp... What a camp! The commanders are friendly, jovial and the environment itself is accomodating. It is advisable you go to camp a day earlier because there will be one que after the other, and some of you guys are #Ajebutters and are not used to some kinda stresses... But if u can't make it a day before, try get to camp early that day. As per the things you will need... Things like buckets, permanent markers, ID card holders will be sold to you at the gate even before entering the camp. I bot my bucket at #300, a marker goes for #100, ID card holder was also #100. After u'v gottn all these, u will join a que; abi u think say u go just enter camp like that? No o... U go join que, ManOwar and Civil defence personnels will screen you in with ur callup letters, sch ID and statement of results.... Make sure u secure a beta position on the que cos after a que is another, the earlier u are thur with one the earlier u start the next. As they are screening you thru ur credentials they are also checking ur bags; shd incase any metal e.g clipper, blade, iron spoons, knife are inside. After u have been screened in, go to the front of the auditorium and join the next que, there u will line up according to the states ur institution fall. E.g. I finished from ABU, ABU is in Kaduna state, meaning i will join the kaduna line.... Na so. The purpose of this line is just to check ur certificate or statement of result and then sign on ur callup letter. After this is step 3; the longest que ever... Join this que to get registered. U will enter into the computer room with like 5copies each of ur credentials. Ur fingerprint will be taken and u will be given ur state code...e.g 401, 312, 423, 1000...the number is serial sha. The last digit of this number is ur platoon number. I was in platoon 9 then sha. Then enter the room next to it to collect the printout of ur details. Plus about 2 forms i think, fill those forms immediately and submit before leaving there. After that, u will see a man sitting on a chair ouside that same building, he will be holding tags, go to him and tell him ur number and the man will give u ur tag(if u are number 623, the tag will also be 623). Now go back to the auditorium, get a file there, put some copies of ur credentials, u will actually be told the ones to put inside. Then you are good to go and collect ur kits from ur platoon officer. How do u knw ur platoon officer? At the auditorium, all officers wud be there sitting and the name of the platoon wud be written on cardboard in front of them. Just go there and collect ur kits. Dnt mind the jargons u filled during online registration o...they will not use it. If u are lucky, u get ur size. If u are not, na Dele Momodu size u go get o! But the most important thing is this, while on the last que(the longest que i earlier talked about) just tell maybe the person in front of u that u will be ryt back, that he or she shd master ur position for u. Get out of the que and stroll down to the hostel, get urself the best bunk, put a matrass and secure a place. That's the best o! Nothing sweet past comfort o! After u don get ur kit, kit up and join the parade. That's the tradition! But if u are tired already...wch is normal, just keep ur kit and enter mammi to flex. You will start ur own parade the next morning... U will not need upto 10 passport self... After few days in camp, u will be told to snap with ur nysc crested vest, it is compulsory, a photographer is already assigned to do that for the whole corpers but u will pay #250. The photo will be used for the final POP photo album at the end of the service year. Tho it is the soft copy that they need but after few days u will be given printed copies for ur own personel use. Na 4copies sha. The first week in camp will not be easy, while the last week will be full of fun... You are to wake up as early as 4am, cos parade starts by 5am till 7. Breakfast by 8am. Another parade by 10am...in short, u won't even have time for urself. Soldiers will just be chasing u up and down with Bigul and whistles...Their popular say is...''we make u do things even when it is against ur wish''. To charge ur phones, u will do all that in Mammi, charging a device goes for #50. There is nothing you need that you won't get at Mammi. The camp has enof water so if u are a fish, u go bath tire. Some banks will come to camp, u will register with the bank ur number falls under. Mine fell under Firstbank and i collected my acct number and ATM b4 leaving d camp. As per food thins,...food dey make sense on sundays... Any oda days na trash! If na beans dem cook, omo na die o...cos na just one spoon dem go give u. Tea go be like water... Egusi soup go be like somtin else... But mind u, i ate all my food o...

This may aid those looking for direction to the camp located at Ikare-Akoko. From Abuja u can board a lagos bus (#3000)cos they'd have to pass through a junction called akungba and dts where you ought to alight, and from der u pick a cab to the camp #200. From the east, just head to onisha oshogbo park opposite ogba ogu, board a bus or siena going to ikare(#2000) can beg d driver to take u to d camp if you guys are much, if he refused, my dear bike is just #30 or #40 to the camp. For those coming from lagos I don't really know much but wud advise you board a bus going to abuja and alight at akungba junction just like those coming from abuja. I'm sure you guys are good to go!!!

For boys, pls dnt go to AGAGU hostel; d hostel close to d kitchen cos soldiers raid it every now and den and finally u ve to be sharp as in to run into bush early morning to avoid parade and boring lectures dia cos dey wnt mind to keep u under d sun doing nothing for just four hours just for punishment, and fun. if u stay in a big hostel, stealing and u ppl might be sleeping in d parade ground every night cos of noise.

For those coming to ondo state from lagos, u can get a bus going straight to ikare akoko at ojota park. Ondo is not called sunshine state for nothing.. . The sun here na die. Make sure u arrive early in camp so that u get the best bedspace. The soldier that blows the biggle is the most friendly military person i have ever met. But, beware of a soldier called 'Abacha'. He can be friendly sometimes but most of the time, he is very mean.. .. . U dont wanna mess with him... trust me.Dont underestimate those that serve food in the kitchen if u wanna lobby......I wont say more than that. Make sure u are boxed up because u may need to go to mammy mkt if u cannot cope with camp food. If u are the type that likes social life, do all u can to be posted to akure, akungba (akoko southwest), Ore, ikare akoko. For those that will be fortunate or unfortunate to be posted to arigidi akoko in akoko northwest local govt, we will be waiting to receive u

I MUST CONFESS TO YOU THAT SERVICE IN ONDO STATE ISN'T FUNNY AT ALL, NO STATE ALLAWEE AND 90% OF YOU GUYS WILL BE SENT TO SCHOOLS JUST LIKE ME WHILE 70% WILL ALSO FIND THEMSELVES IN VILLAGES.

AM NOT TRYING TO SCARE ANY OF YOU BUT THAT'S JUST THE BITTER TRUTH. CORPERS ARE USED LIKE MAD BY SCHOOLS IN ONDO STATE AND IF YOU ARE POSTED TO SCHOOLS, THE HIGHEST STIPEND YOU MAY GET IS N5,000 OR LESS FROM YOUR PROPRIETORS.

NOW I WILL JUST GIVE YOU GUYS BRIEF ORIENTATION ON HOW TO FIGHT AGAINST INJUSTICE IN POSTING.

FIRST OF ALL HERE IS MY STORY

IN CAMP I REFUSED TO LOBBY FOR MY POSTING, AND UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME, I WAS POSTED TO A VERY THICK VILLAGE IN ODIGBO LOCAL GOVT, IN THE VILLAGE YOU WONT FIND ANY BLOCK HOUSE THERE, NO NETWORK, NO WATER AT ALL, THEY DRINK, WASH, GET WATER TO COOK AND DEFICATE INSIDE A STREAM, NO LIGHT IN THE VILLAGE, ROAD NOT ACCESSIBLE BY BUS, BIKE GETS TO A POINT AND STOP FOR YOU TO TREK ALONG A LONELY BUSHY PATH.

YOU CAN IMAGINE MY FRUSTRATION WHEN I GOT THERE BUT I VOWED NEVER TO ACCEPT SUCH POSTING COS I KNOW I CANT SURVIVE THERE, I PUT ON A STRONG RESISTANCE AND TOLD MY LGI THAT I WONT STAY THERE, DESPITE HIM GIVING ME QUERY I REFUSED, I WAS LATER POSTED TO ANOTHER VILLAGE IN OFOSU, TO A NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL WHICH I VOWED NEVER TO HONOUR, MY ZI CALLED ME AND GAVE ME WARNING BUT THAT DIDN'T MOVE ME AT ALL, I WAS POSTED TO ANOTHER VILLAGE BUT STILL REJECTED IT UNTIL THEY BROUGHT ME DOWN TO TOWN.

I WAS ABLE TO STAND MY GROUND BECAUSE OF THE ORIENTATION I GOT FROM MEMBERS OF NCCF, ALOT OF MY FRIENDS WHO WENT WITH OTHER CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP ENDED UP ACCEPTING WRONG POSTING AND ARW CRYING BITTERLY WHERE THEY ARE NOW BECAUSE THEY DIDNT GET PROPER ORIENTATION BEFORE ACCEPTING TO STAY.

NCCF ON YOUR ARRIVAL THAT NIGHT TO THEIR FAMILY HOUSE WILL FEED YOU GUYS, GIVE YOU SHELTER AND ORIENTATION ON WHAT TO ACCEPT AND WHAT NOT TO ACCEPT.

THESE PROPRIETORS ARE VERY CUNNING, THEY WILL SMILE WITH YOU JUST TO GET YOUR POSTING LETTER, BUT IMMEDIATELY YOU GIVE IT TO THEM AND THEY SIGN ON IT, MY BROTHER AND SISTER YOUR OWN IS FINISHED.

BEFORE YOU GOTO YOUR PPA, THESE ARE THE THINGS YOU SHOULD DO

MAKE PHOTOCOPIES OF YOUR ORIGINAL POSTING LETTER, WHEN YOU GET THERE MAKE SURE YOU DONT GIVE HIM THE ORIGINAL FIRST COS ONCE HE SIGNS YOUR OWN IS FINISHED. GIVE HIM THE PHOTOCOPY FIRST

SECONDLY HE MUST PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION FOR YOU AND ALSO GIVE YOU BED AND READING TABLE

THIRDLY TAKE A VERY GOOD LOOK AT THE TOILET AND BATHROOM, IF THEY ARE BAD OR WILL GIVE YOU DISEASE PLEASE DONT ACCEPT

FOURTHLY MAKE SURE HE OR SHE GIVES YOU YOUR N2000 YOU SPENT FROM CAMP TO HIS SCHOOL

FIFTH MAKE SURE, YOU DONT ACCEPT MORE THAN TWO SUBJECTS, AND DONT ALLOW THEM TO CHOKE YOU WITH TOO MUCH LOAD, ONDO PROPRIETORS ARE FUND OF THAT BUT YOU NEED TO STAND YOUR GROUND

SIXTH MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE IS FULLY CHARGED FOR YOU TO SILENTLY RECORD YOUR CONVERSATION WITH YOUR BOSS, IN CASE HE MAKES ANY WRONG STATEMENTS YOU CAN USE IT AGAINST HIM TO FIGHT FOR YOUR REPOSTING
