The race is not for the swift.

The battle is not for the strong.

Wise people don't necessarily have food

The brilliant ones are not always wealthy

The educated is not always successful.

Time and chance happened to them all.

Thanks for this, we need to be grateful in all situation.

Some of his mates are in prison for things they dont even know anything about, some are bedridden in hospital just asking God to give them a chance to live.... some shot in the head by stray bullets

Nigga is here complaining... You better get on your knees and pray to your creator to remember you.

For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” Romans 9:15

I grew up in a town where there were four government primary schools. Note that there was nothing like private schools there in those days. I was a popular pupil then, because I was winning inter-school competitions for my school. I was a class captain throughout, and senior prefect.

.

Life is the real testing ground and it has decided to offer you the real rest. The end of a thing, the holy book will say is better than the beginning thereof. Stay positive, keep hope, don't lose it. Remain diligent, keep developing yourself. Your opportunity will come and it might come from those positive accolades about your past, don't smear it. When opportunity arrives, stand prepared. Only those who endure till the end shall be saved. Pray and always ask God to lead and guide you.

cry cry Nigeria is indeed f.ucked up! In a sane country where God is, e.g. China, US, UK, Canada, Japan, Saudi, Dubai, Kuwait, Oman, and Most European countries, you wouldn't need to divide your time between earning money and lectures. Rather, you would have access to student loan, or fellowships and before graduation you would have gotten a good job.

Brother just be happy in God only. Though you have a reason to be angry, always thank God for how far God has been with you. He would never leave you nor forsake you. You have a reason to be thankful. God will surely make all things beautiful at the right time. It would always get better and not otherwise. Bro encourage yourself, all will be well.

yea ur testimony looks similar to mine.....brilliant from beginning till graduation but "onwere ka mua si eku ume". I'm a die hard entity and gradually am shooting to lime light. So my brother the Best thing you should do now is to build yourself with diverse knowledge and skills before you know it you'll either start employing people or at least have enough money for yourself.

Education merely equips you. An educated person has more doors and windows of opportunities. You may not be able to get a job. Go learn a skill. Skills equals to wealth. What will even keep you in a white collar job and make you distinctive is the skill with which you carry out your duties.
Get something doing with your hands. Tailoring, confectionery , Decoration......name them. Learn any!!
Then engage the Holy spirit for inspiration so that your work can stand out.
Get books on finances and entrepreneurship by good authors and study them. I can recommend a few of them.
I applaud the fact that you are doing something for the mean time. His grace is sufficient for you.

One day, I made myself a bowl of oatmeal, poured an iced tea, and headed towards my home office. Preoccupied with work, I tripped and spilled everything.

At 7:58:01 I was excited about a great new idea. At 7:58:31 I was mopping up a mess.

This is a trivial example, but it’s also the way life is. You walk through one door and a bucket of water falls on your head. You walk through another and someone doubles your salary. (Of course, most times when you walk through a door, you simply enter another room.)

Once you understand this, you end up with only two logical strategies:

1. When you fail, act as though success is following close behind: Don’t give up or give into self-pity. Don’t accept that your fate is bleak or hopeless. Just dig in and work your way back towards the light.

2. When you succeed, act as though failure is following close behind. Be as nice to people as when you were working your way up from the bottom. Be cautious with your newly-earned gains.

You may like to believe that you are 100% responsible for your success. Not true. The people around you are largely responsible for your success; never, ever forget this.

One last tip... when you spill your oatmeal, have fun cleaning it up.

My two cents bro....

Also b4 i forget, try and follow madam debbie on this forum for job updates. Her job update has helped alot of guys on NL and also to some pple i knw whom i passed the info to.

My brother , have a bright future. My advice is that you should not neglect your little begining .Have trust in God and not in Man.God will surely raise a man to help you.I have passed through that stage but today, i give glory to God. GOD that has done it for me will surely do it for you if only you can believe in God.

Another article promoting anti-intellectualism.

You are not poor because of your education, you are poor because you have not applied your knowledge to the world.

Knowledge alone cannot make you rich.
Money is made when you provide a product or service and charge a fee for it.
Your knowledge is useless because you have kept it covered like a lamp under a bushell.
If you are indeed as smart as you say, begin a business.

For example :
-start a small training center for mathematics and the sciences; people who wish to write NECO/JAMB/GCE will pay you to be tutored. If you do it right, after one year when you are widely known, you will be able to charge as much as 20k per student. Many people have done this before you.
-Learn how to program - programming is the new crude oil. That is all I will say on that.
-Write a book on any topic you are comfortable with and sell it.
-Learn Excel in your leisure hours and look for a job in a company. Power users of Excel are rare and in high demand
-Use your mathematical knowledge to help final year students who require statistical analysis for their projects. Charge them.
All these things you cannot do if you are illiterate.

Academic knowledge and intellectual capacity are the most valuable qualities to possess in the world. Please mods stop posting these anti-intellectual articles that suggest otherwise.
Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Pat Utomi, Wole Soyinka and many others make money from using their brains. So can you

Education has never brought anybody shame. The title of the post is nonsense.

Thanks my brother !!!

Most Nigerian youth are just backward in thinking and they believe they can have it all since you go to university or whatever ..........

Education is just an avenue for knowledge acquisition, what u make of that knowledge is absolutely YOU .....

If I studied Mech Engineering for instance, and there is no Job afterward, I would go to a mechanic shop and learn how to repair cars of my choice n specs and believe u me , in 3-5years, I would surpass all my bosses and keep growing without looking back because I have advanced knowledge than them in my B.tech but only need their preliminary knowledge n experience to kick start my career as a mech engineer and be my own boss and own my own workshop/company ..........

The above is exactly how somebody with a B.sc/B.Ed/B.tech should think ..........

The brain of a graduate is expected to think better than someone who is not but unfortunately many all go to school without school having impact on their thinking processes ...... Go to school, write exams n pass via cram n pour ..... peeps don't even know the essence of their certificate .......

Your certificate is just a paper acknowledged by erudite in your field that you have been trained in a particular skill/field........ It is left to u to convince ur client/employer that truly , you are trained !!!

Academic knowledge is not meant for everybody so is entrepreneurship ....... Look inward into yourself and chose an endeavour that best suited your destiny !!!!

Nonetheless, Education is never a waste unless you don't know what to make of it
