Today, Christianity has become one of the most popular religions in the world. It easier for many to leave their religion and become a Christian than for a Christian to leave his religion and join other religion.

This shows that the Christian religions have much to offer when it comes to the worship of the True God. But then, does it really mean Christians actually fear God? I do not want to speak of other religions, they are no way better cos the next few paragraphs also applies to them.

When a Christian doesn't steal, kill or fight, it is believed because he has the fear of God. But is this always the case or has been the case. Let come to think of it. The truth is, a larger percentage of those calming to be Christians don't fear God, they only fear the law of man, the wrath of the government. Who wants to argue?

The Bible condemns stealing and murder. The majority of the churchgoers won't do it cos they believe it a sin against God. It is because, if they do so the law of the land will catch up with them. They will go to prison or have a death sentence. Am I talking trash? Well still read on.

Many of them are only afraid of man, they fear men, not God. They only worship God but not reverential fear of him. How you ever ask yourself why today sexual immorality is very rampant among church members today? It is simply because no human law is against it. There is no law that says, if you fornicate or commit adultery you will imprison for 10yrs. If there were such laws, believe me, we will have many pure and chaste Christians. There will be less breakup and divorce that comes from cheating on one's partner.

If you think it is a lie, travel to Dubai where premarital sex is a crime, you will see that those so-called Christians dare not engage in fornication cos if they are caught, they will be jailed. If it's in Indonesia, they will be flogged publicly. That is why in those countries, the rate of sexual immorality and HIV is minimal.

I am sure that if there is such law here in Nigeria, many won't commit fornication. It simply shows they fear men, not God. They keep obeying human laws so much than that of God. People tells so much lie today because they won't get punished by the government. People do many disgusting things in the eyes of God since they know no instant punishment will befall them but the laws of humans where they will get punished they avoid it.

If we were still under the law of Moses when instant judgment comes upon anyone doing detestable things, you will see a morally clean Christain religion.

Any law of God that human law isn't against, Many Christians are willing to break it over and over again till thy kingdom come.

I rest my pen. This post also applies to Islam and other religion.

This OP sef, which one is the law of God, The 10 commandments?
Re: Do Christians Truly Fear God? by hopefulLandlord: 2:55pm On Jun 10, 2017
OP makes a truckload of sense!!!!

the fact that a "Christian" in India has a totally different moral to a "Christian" in Nigeria tells a lot

infact, ALL Nigerian Christians I've discussed with physically endorse capital punishment, ALL and when I tell them its obviously against what Jesus thinks, at least in the Bible, they usually get defensive and go on about how the world would get better when we rid of bad people, another set would "interpret" what Jesus meant by "cast the first stone" saying it only applies to adultery and fornication, some would say that was then and it doesn't necessarily apply now

beneath all these nonsensical excuses lies something they're too afraid to admit, that the society dictates more of their morals than they care to admit

I ain't the one that said Christians obey the laws of man, so the onus is on the OP to educate us on the laws of God.

The laws of God are the laws God lives by, those are what I want to hear.

It is the fear of the punishment of the land that makes people moral not fear of any God. For example Christians in Europe do not discriminate against gays no matter how much they hate them because it is against the laws of the land. They can't be seen publicly saying bad things or discriminating against gays because they know they will be punished. This is the same everywhere. The fear of punishment by the authorities is what makes people law abiding not because of any God. People don't fear God because they know he can't do anything to them.

The fact that God hasn't act, doesn't mean he won't. He is only waiting patiently for the right time to execute judgement on wrongdoers.

And it is because of that patience many don't fear Him. If God was striking down people dead instantly as they commit, believe me, you will see a more Godly society free from crime and immorality.

It also applies to Muslims, many of them k ow zina is a serious sin against God (Allah) but since in this part of country, the authorities dont bother, they enjoy doing it.

But in Iran and other lslamic nations, they dare not try it.

People don't follow the true teachings of their religion as long the laws of the land isn't against it.

This is not church where people unquestioningly swallow everything a pastor says, expect to be questioned albeit from a divergent view point.

So don't expect to hear an Amen any time soon.

Besides, to attend to the topic, nobody needs to fear God, since God by definition is "Love" and perfect love cast out fear. For a Christian or anybody to fear God is oxymoronical.

Is that what I said?

What I meant was, you didnt expect to be questioned based on what you said, you expected us to just swallow it just like in church where nobody questions a pastor.

Can you please mention one time, just one, when God interfered in the activities of men.

He is only waiting patiently for the right time to execute judgement on wrongdoers.
And it is because of that patience many don't fear Him.
If it has to wait patiently, doesn't it sound more like a man than a god?
A god should be capable of influencing time itself.
If God was striking down people dead instantly as they commit, believe me, you will see a more Godly society free from crime and immorality.
Even you, my man, knows what God should do if it truly existed.

One thing you fail to understand is that the fact that there are consequences for every actions taken which we call law of karma. What most persons don't understand is that even if you repent of your sins, you will still pay for your actions
