The Zikists read the letter written to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo by those who had earlier called on the Igbos to quit Northern Nigeria, Zik’s birthplace, and we have the following observations to make:

1. Igbos have not prevented anyone from buying properties in Ala Igbo. Our political Leader Zik of Africa even made a Fulani Prince the Mayor of the Igbo political capital Enugu as early as 1952.

2. Igbo Land includes places like Port Harcourt (Igwe Ocha), and Opobo and Bonny (Igwe Nga). No one should think Igbod don’t know this.

3. The reason it looks as if the January 1966 coup was an Igbo coup was that at that time most of the officers in the Army were Igbos, so any coup done by the Army then could have easily been termed Igbo coup even when it’s not, since most of the participants would have been Igbo. Do we now term most of the coups done after 1966 Northern coups because most of the officers in the Army are now Northerners?

4. Some people talk as if the Igbo ethnic group gathered somewhere and said they would plot coup. Is that possible? Is this the anti-Igbo version of the discredited Protocol Of The Learned Elders of Zion?We call for national reconciliation of all perceived or real injustices.

We warn against any plan to wage genocide against Igbos, noting the unrelenting agitative nature of the Igbo when it comes to their human rights, their geographical spread not just all over Nigeria but also all over the World;and last but not the least, the presence of an International Criminal Court (ICC), that has shown that it can bite with devastating results for people who plan, perpetrate or partake in genocide. A word is enough for the wise. Nigeria belongs to all of us whether Arewa, Oodua or Biafran.

There is a concerted effort to give the Igbo a bad name and make the ordinary Hausa-Fulani see Igbos as their nortal enemies, then set them to fight with the Igbo. We a are not against Hausa Fulani, but against Anti-Igboists masquerading as a section of the Northern and other leadership.

There will be no civil war in this country if that is what some people want.

Well, if you think someone trying to sell Igbo's a dummy by slicing out the Igbo parts of in the South South is not important, we'll have you know that it is most important. The Ikwerres, the Bonny Igbo's the Opobo Igbo's are our cherished brothers and you can't divide us no more.

That is how some people were telling these South South Igbo's that they were not Igbo, but when Peter Odilli wanted to contest the presidency, they suddenly started saying the South South slot will not be taken by an Igbo. A lot of South South Igbo's learnt from that episode.

There is. You can publish any article or link that shows the light (liberating knowledge) including better farming techniques.

Teaching people better agricultural techniques is a way of showing the light. Zikist Movement would be happy to see a return of the groundnut pyramids and cotton plantations in the North, palm oil plantations, cocoa plantations and rubber tapping agro industries in the South.

No problems. Come October 1, any Igbo you see in the North, you can go ahead and murder him/her. It won't be the first time. I am sure they won't be up to 3 million Igbo's. Even if you kill all of them, it won't be the first time.
As for the Igbo's in the North, onye ajuru aju, anaghi aju onwe ya. Leave the north. You may lose a lot but it's only a temporary setback. Your fathers lost everything and started again with only 20 pounds, yet they survived. They overcame this terrible setback. They went ahead to build great business across Nigeria. Today their descendants are reasonably ahead some of the people that sort to annihilate them. This time around it is not as bad as it was then. You have the chance to take everything that belongs to you that you possibly can from the North.
Are you people not tired of the insults from other tribes? Everybody is asking us to leave their land. North, West, South South & North Central, everybody. We see this everyday on social media. It's either we are doing something exceptionally well or we are doing things in a terribly bad way. Either way come back home. Are you not tired of insults, uncertainties, anxieties and fears over your lives, properties, investments and above all your families. End the insults. Return home.

No I am not asking for Biafra yet. I am asking our people to take pride in our heritage and build our own land. Nigeria is not like USA. Even if you were born in Alabama, if you lived in NY for up to a year or so, you are a citizen of NY. You can vote and you can be voted for in NY. In Nigeria, even if you have lived all your life in Lagos and your father lived all his life in Lagos but your name is not a Kayode or an Olumide, you are seen as a visitor who can be ejected anytime, especially in the event of crises, notwithstanding the fact that you legally bought the piece of land on which you built your house all by your own effort. The same applies across the whole nation.
If our people come back home and put in the effort we have put into other regions in the last 40 years, perhaps in 10 to 40 years time, we will have a homeland full great and beautiful cities we can all be proud of. Other Nigerians will respect us. They too will start rushing to Aba, Enugu & Onitsha the same way we are rushing to Lagos and Kano today. Above we will leave a better homeland for our children. Our children today are struggling so much over their identity. "Daddy, why are we (Igbo's) hated so much in Nigeria", a terrible question from an 8-year old, a very difficult question for his father to answer.

Chinua Achebe’s recent book has revived fierce discussions about the Biafra genocide, the darkest chapter in Nigerian history. The country is still divided over the issue and ‘Biafrans’ want out of Nigeria

After Chinua Achebe published his new book – ‘There was a country: A personal history of Biafra’, Nigerian politicians, and intellectuals assailed his account of events accusing him of propaganda and creating the impression that what he wrote was some sort of fabrication. They went further to attack his person and impugn his reputation as one of Africa’s greatest novelists. It has therefore become necessary to put together a sample of narratives from international observers, reporters, and writers articulated during or immediately after the events of 1966 -1970 and after.

People need to know what events preceded and precipitated the January 15, 1966 coup; what happened as the conflict escalated culminating in the slaughter of tens of thousands of Igbo and other Easterners; what brought about the secession of Biafra from Nigeria; and how Nigeria conducted the war and committed the worst genocide in Africa in the 20th century. This information is important because young people need to be able to look at contemporary Nigeria in the light of her history so they can appreciate the present mess the country is currently in and be able to judge for themselves the future of the fiction called ‘One Nigeria.’

The January 15, 1966 coup was conceived and planned by Majors Chukwuma Nzeogwu, Emmanuel Ifeajuna and Ademola Ademoyega. ‘Why We Struck: The story of the first Nigerian Coup’ published by Evans Brothers, Ltd Ibadan, 1981, is the original work of the only surviving member of the trio that conceived and planned the coup. Here is the background to the January 15 coup given by Major Ademoyega. ‘By November 1965, the people (of Western Nigeria) had started to fight the unpopular Akintola government. They sang war songs and fought on the streets. They invented the ‘wetie’ (meaning soak him up), a practice in which a political opponent and his house or property were sprayed with petrol and set ablaze. Somehow, in ‘wetie’ only the intended victim suffered. By December 1965, there had been a total breakdown of law and order in Western Nigeria. The lawlessness had gone beyond the control of the mobile (anti-riot) police and the Akintola government was seen to be tottering to its collapse….. This was the appropriate time for a state of emergency to be declared in the West and for a caretaker government to be set up, pending the conduct of a free and fair election. However the Balewa government was more anxious to preserve Akintola (whose political party NNDP was in alliance with Balewa and Sarduana’s party, NPC, to form the NNA led by Alhaji Ahmadu Bello, Sarduana of Sokoto; the NCNC, AG, and UMBC were also in alliance as the UPGA led by Dr. M. I. Okpara) as the premier of the region than to restore law and order. Therefore Balewa announced that the situation in the West was normal and that everything was under control.’p.22.

‘I met Chief H O Davis, who was then a Federal Minister in the Balewa government, who had come to spend the New Year holidays at his retreat just behind the Army Chalet at Taqua Bay. I greeted him and asked if he was Chief Davis and he said ‘Yes’. I soon got into deep conversation with him on the political situation in the country. I was particularly interested to know what the Federal Government’s view was, apart from Balewa’s public statements. Chief Davis made it clear to me that the Federal Government had no solution to the political crisis. He said that everybody was just waiting to see what would happen next and that nobody knew exactly what that would be; but surely something was bound to happen. I left Chief Davis feeling that the Balewa Government had something up its sleeve. Otherwise the minister would not be so emphatic that something was bound to happen. When I returned to the Officers’ Mess, Apapa, on January 3, 1966, I went to work with Ifeajuna. After extensive prodding, we discovered that the Balewa Government had a terrible plan to bring the army fully to operate in the West for the purpose of eliminating the elites of that region, especially the intellectuals who were believed to be behind the intransigence of the people against the Akintola Government. It was for this reason that the government had attacked the intellectuals of the Region, especially those at Ife, intimidating and victimizing them for their refusal to support it. People like Tai Solarin of Mayflower School, Ikenne, were among those marked down. It was also intended that if the plan succeeded in the West, the next target would be the East. The Federal Government was to use loyal troops for this purpose and the 4th Battalion in Ibadan commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel Largema and the 2nd Battalion in Ikeja temporarily commanded by Major Igboba, but soon to be taken over by Lieutenant-Colonel Gowon, were designated for this assignment. The operation was fixed for the third week of January 1966, when the Sarduana would have returned from his pilgrimage and Lieutenant-Colonel Gowon would have completed his takeover of the Ikeja Battalion. In preparation for this horrible move by the Federal Government, the high echelons of the Army and the Police were being reshuffled. Major-General Ironsi was ordered to proceed on leave from mid-Janua
