The staff (drivers and ticketers) of the blue BRT network in Lagos have embarked on a strike today (10/07/2017). The blue BRT covers the Ikorodu-TBS route with three categories of tickets that recently all had an increase range of 42-53% (#70 -> #100, #120 -> #200, #195 -> #300) effective as of March 1,2017.

The cause of this strike remains unknown. Many commuters are stranded at bus stations and the alternative means of transport (Danfo buses) are having a busy day on the traffic-laden route.

If that happens, they can recycle the staff with immediate effect. The present staff (on an average) need an overhaul. On weekends, some ticketers don't even go to their station. Some don't resume till 6:30am on weekdays and I learnt its 24/7 service.

Please don't say because of the strike, you want to access the BRT lane. The task force are having a very profitable day as it seems. Don't fall a victim.

There is nothing hidden under the sun, we shall later know the reason for the strike. However, BRT management should not understand the language of strike only. Meanwhile, review your fares or has diesel not come down? Check the line of TBS-Fadeyi always longer than Mile 12 and Ikorodu because that is the relatively competitive fare with other commercial buses. Management wake up and stop abuses of monopoly privileges o o o o!

Heard the drivers were being owed salaries, meanwhile going to work today wasn't funny at all.

They are definitely not protesting against the increase in the transport fares...

They'd frustrate you because of N30 change and you're bound to leave the money once you can't find someone to pair with! I was told by some girl back in Lagos that her friend makes at least N2,000 daily from the vexed customers leaving change behind.

Now lets do the maths--> #70 -> #100 ( Passenger with N100, "Oga no N10 change, take this N20" Passenger loses N10)
#120 -> #200, (Passenger with N150 "Oga add N10 join am make I give you N40 or take this N20" Passenger loses N10)

#195 -> #300 (Here, all passengers must lose N5 change) LMAO.
