The Senate on Thursday said there was a capital flight of $13.92 billion by MTN Nigeria between 2006 and 2016.

Senate confirmation was sequel to the consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions on the unscrupulous violation of the foreign exchange policy of the country by MTN Nigeria.

The senate report reads in part: “No doubt there is a disturbing evidence of Foreign exchange ‎hemorrhage in Nigeria especially in this period of recession.

“MTN Nigeria for instance repatriated over $1.3 billion annually since 2006, or $13.92 billion between 2006 and 2016.

“Just for one company, the phenomenon constitutes a huge outflow that could pose challenges for Foreign exchange and National monetary ‎stability”.

The Senate also directed the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to sanction Stanbic IBTC for improper documentation in respect of capital repatriation and loan repayment amounting to $388 million and $199 million respectively.

MTN has always been about themselves ,they re strictly in business with little care given to corporate social responsibility and ethics. They re simply very crooked in their dealings with Nigerians and they neither give a hoot nor care as far as the profit keeps rolling in,they ve been outed on some occasions, from telling us then that per second billing was not possible until GLO came to disprove that, and also other sharp practices like the one they engaged in and were caught just recently nd were fined nd made to pay thru their nose, they were also accused of giving the National Assembly members recharge cards rangng from 15k to 25k every month, now y were they doing such a thing if they were clean?, they re simply haemorrhaging this country badly nd they re an economic terrorist and must be properly checked... .

So, were we sleeping between 2006 and 2016? MTN could be wrong but if we fail to address potholes in our constitution that allow these atrocities to be committed, we would just keep talking and dragging these organizations to court over cases they would clearly win!

It griefs my spirit to see South Africa and her companies disrespect Nigeria. Well we cursed it- having kleptomaniacs as leaders and a nation neck-deep in tribalism; insulting one-anothee in the world's before.
If we call for sanctions, some will come here to discuss of how we'll suffer unemployment, they forget a good and respected name dwarfs food given to you on the floor. China understands this principle.

Change! Change!! Change!!!

If you want a change indeed, let it begins with you:
For examples, you are the one working in a certain company, your friend really needs job, being a position you acquired there, but you preferred to offer your o'level girlfriend the job rather than your graduate friends

Let change begins with you!

You are the one too love to depreciate recent government works despite their efforts over all, you are the one filled your heart with hatred, malice, wickedness habits ..... Don't be deceived & don't deceive yourself, if you are the one chosen to occupied nnpc, phcn, Central bank chairman or heading a big company office position, let be sincere to ourselves, are you sure you going to be faithful by not taking anything to your account in fraudulent way?

Let change begins with you !!

You are the one taking bribe, especially, some SARS officer now a days, they love to follow yahooguys to the any nearby ATMs to collect/withdraw money from them in a forceful way, senators that always fighting for their favorite territory in their respective position oppressing citizens likewise house of rep...

Market women, pls this is a serious matter, what makes you increased new Yam price in market, the smallest one sold at #900 WHY? What about Garri, #300/one cube bowl WHY? what about Cement#2800, per one , WHY? what about soft soil& Sharp soil Tipper Drivers WHY?

Question: does government increase fuel pump price?

Question: did God inflated producing grow up from soil for you to harvest your yams

Let change begins with you
God bless Nigeria

MTN always find a way of scamming Nigerians with the collusion of our leaders.

I would be happy if our not-particularly-useful senators nail them.

From per-minute billing to expensive SIMs, their scams didn't start today

do we need to blame them? Our corrupt leaders who are at helm of affairs especially those in charge of our banking industry should be held responsible.
