Baum Tenpers Global Investments Ltd was formed to fill an existing void in allied research that combines academic and professional research activities relating to Nigeria and other parts of the world. We are a team of independent researchers with a focus on Africa, Europe and Asia. We provide academic and professional advisory and research to clients in these regions, with future plans to cover other parts of the world. Our broad services include

What we want

As part of our expansion drive, we are now looking to add a hardworking and determined individual to our small team. The successful person will work remotely, doing tasks such as writing new items, and editing, proofreading and overhauling existing research reports and proposals written by our analysts. Reporting to the principal research analyst, this job has a scope to develop into a fully-fledged research editor role and part-take of the associated benefits. The job is suitable for anyone based anywhere in Nigeria or elsewhere, who has strong writing skills.

Typical profile of a successful applicant

- Has at least a BA/BSc in English, Mass Communication or an LLB from an institution in Nigeria and or elsewhere
- Has excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills and is able to overhaul an existing written work to look completely different but
convey the initial message
- Possesses a computer with internet and has access to electricity, either through NEPA or otherwise, during work hours
- Can deliver good quality at all times, on or before deadlines, irrespective of how tight are the deadlines
- Can work with their own resources until payment comes without needing up front from
- Can respond to email request in seconds or minutes, meaning the appropriate person is always logged into their email accounts
- Is sharp and productive, yet pleasant and amiable to work with and has a well-developed level of emotional intelligence


Mode of work

Essentially a work-from-home job. The job requires a computer connected to the internet and steady access to electricity during work hours.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will
 Engage in new writing tasks
 Conduct mild research on the internet
 Handle requests from analysts
 Articulate research ideas in writing, from insights gained from data and directions given by analysts
 Compile information from multiple sources
 Edit, critique, and overhaul existing research papers and proposals to look completely different but convey the same message

Compensation

For any month worked, there is a minimum salary of NGN 15,000 and a maximum salary of NGN 40,000 only when assigned tasks are completed at reasonable levels as determined by the assigned supervisor. This means there is a guaranteed income of NGN 15,000 for any task reasonably completed in a month, no matter how little is the task. This income rises to NGN 40,000 depending on the volume and quality of work done. There is also a discretionary bonus during months of high loads of work.
