kiss4life: 1. yes they are twins. 2. yes they are age mates. it make no sense claiming seniority with 2mins and 5secs, since they all came from the same mother. 3.31st december 2016, 1st of january 2017. but the parents can decided to carryover the birth year to 2017  4. the question should be which month. most parents will choose 1st of january as the birthday cuz they'd like the feeling that comes with it. 9 Likes |

No3 answer, even if the parents decide to celebrate their birthday on January 1st. If you are of age and you know about it, you won't be comfortable because it's like, you abandon your birthday and helping your brother to celebrate his, no matter the claim, it's never his birthday, the date of his birth is boldly written, so why should you celebrate it on a that's never yours. What so special about Dec 31st and Jan 1. I'm sure if the twins were born Jan 31 and Feb 1 it won't be a big deal. As long as day dark and day breaks it's no big deal. Nothing breath taking or spectacular happens between Dec 31 and Jan 1. We just keep on attaching nonsense happiness to it because we claim its the start of a New Year whereas it's just the start of a regular day 8 Likes |

In Africa, according to tradition, a Child birth is not announced until the placenta comes out. Therefore, their Birthday should be celebrated after the process of childbirth. This process starts from the breaking of the anabolic fluid, till the successful extraction of the placenta. When a newborn exits the birth canal, does not mean that the process is complete. If the first of the multiples is delivered, the process is still ongoing and must be completed. Even in Singleton, no body will rush to register a delivery, without extracting left out fluids, and weighing the newborn. And this process takes few minutes. My take is that both the twins will have Jan 1st as their birthday. Yes, they are age mate! |
