Episode 12




The car speeds into the house,Hillary came out of the car,ran to the gate and closed the gate. There was a river of blood on his right forearm and head. They hurried into the house and the doctor nervously took the remote and on the television. He switched to one of the local station where they were talking about the bombing.
"....according to the spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, no life was lost but about twenty people are injured. The is the most dreaded attack ever carried out in the history of the country as it is targeted at the president and members of his cabinet. In another report,Afrieca TV have gotten an exclusive footage from the failed attack. The man whose picture appear on the screen is suspected to be the person behind the attack. We will keep you posted on any development."
Hillary flicked his eyes several times then turned to look at the doctor who was covered in surprise. Hillary stared at his picture on the screen. He became numb and the air in the sitting room became thick;he began gasping for air. He took two steps backward,plodded and fell on the floor. The doctor rushed towards him,picked a magazine lying on the sofa and began fanning him.
Hillary slowly regained his conscious. He sat up and stared at the television. The reporter was now interviewing people at the scene. Tears stream down his cheeks and he quickly wiped it with the back of his palms. The doctor stood hands akimbo with his eyes on the floor,deep in thought. Hillary stood up and staggered into the room. The doctor stared at the door for awhile,shook his head then went and sat on the sofa. He took the remote and switched off the television. He tossed the remote away on the sofa and covered his face with his hands.
Hillary kept tossing and turning on the bed,he tried to force himself to sleep but it seems sleep was on strike. He sat up with legs widely spread and rubbed his hands over his face. He inhaled deeply then sighed. He bent slightly to the right,turned on the bed lamp,crawled out of bed and shuffled to the sitting room. He opened the refrigerator and took out a bottle water,gulped it down and dropped the empty bottle on the refrigerator. He returned the bedroom and sat on the sofa,hands clawed on the sofa's arm. He relaxed back on the sofa and stared fixedly at the wall clock on the wall. Everywhere was quite,the only sound was the beating of his heart which was in rhythm with the tick tack of the clock.
The vibration of his phone made him raise his head abruptly and look at the direction the phone was kept on the drawer,near the bed lamp. He stood and stroad to the drawer. He bent forward and glanced at the screen. It is a new number;who would be calling by the time of the night? And no one even have his new number aside the doctor. He took the phone and stared at it as it continued to vibrate. His heard was already pounding in his heart. The call ended just as he was about swiping on the screen. He sighed,dropped the phone and turned to return to the sofa when the phone started vibrating again. He made a sharp turn and looked at phone dreadfully. He reached for the phone with shaky hand and carried it. He swiped the phone and carefully placed it on his ear.
"Hello." He blurted. There was no response from the person at the other end,that got him more scared. He took the phone away from the screen, glanced at the screen then placed the phone back on his ear. "Hello." He said again.
"Hillary Osagie" A voice called out. He nearly died of fear,his stomach rumbled loudly and he lost his balance. Only two people call him by his full name; Jamil and his mum.

I have never read any of your stories sir. Theory X is 100 percent my intellectual property. I have hand written manuscript of the story and will be uploading it later in the day. I know what it means as a writer to sit,brainstorm and come up with a story so I won't even try to plagiarise anybody's work;God won't forgive me if I do that. So sir,chill Theory X is not a copied work. I was inspired by the whistle-blower stuff and the bombing at eagle square. Thank you sir.

"Who is this?" He asked fearfully,leaning on the wall.
"Your nightmare." The voice answered in a robotic way. That instigated more fear in him. He gulped on an empty throat.
"Excuse me?"
"You poked your nose into our business and you must pay with your life."
"Oh!You're one of the traitors."Hillary said surmounting courage.
"You can call us whatever you wish to Hillary."
"I want to let you know something,as long as I am alive and know your plan,you will never succeed." He said courageously, standing properly.
"Well,that is if you see the break of day." The voice uttered and chuckled.
"Excuse me."
"Let's say we are outside house No. 20 Luke Pendant crescent,where you are hiding and are coming inside to kill you and the doctor." A cough escaped Hillary's lung. The voiced giggled. "You're already afraid."
Hillary threw the phone on the bed and plodded around then sat at the foot of the bed. He began sweating despite the air condition being on. He stood up, rushed out of the room to the doctor's room and started banging at the door.
"Who is it?" The doctor asked.
"It is I,Hillary."
"What is it? Has something happened?" The doctor opened the door and appeared rubbing his eyes.
"They are outside the house."Hillary replied alarmed.
"They?Who are they?" The doctor asked scared.
"The guys,I got a call few seconds and a voice told me they are outside the house and will be coming in to kill us." Hillary explained.
"What? How did they trace us?" The doctor asked stepping out of his room.
"I don't know but I have an idea."
"What idea?"
"We should call the police and report now." Hillary said shaking his leg nervously.
"You can't be serious! How will that help? They will kill us before the police arrive."
"We have to try at least. I have the I.G's number,I will call him right away."
"And tell him what? That you're the person suspected to be behind the eagle square attack and there are men outside the house trying to kill you or what?"
"I will tell him I want to surrender?"
"They will ask you to surrender at their office,and do you think those guys will allow you walk to the station freely?"
"Ok,you will call them then."
"And..."
"Tell them you caught me trespassing your house."
"Your stuff are all over the house."
"We will get rid of them before they arrive."
"This is dangerous Hillary."
"They are going to kill us anyway."
The doctor stared at him for awhile then shook his head. Hillary rushed to the room,came back with his phone and handed it to the doctor.
"Make the call while I get rid of my things."
"Wait,how did I get the number at the first place?"
"The police won't have time to look at that." Hillary said rushed out.
He doctor entered the contact and dialled the I.G's number. The call was answered almost immediately. The doctor spoke with him and the I.G promised to send his men immediately. Hillary came back few minutes later and found the doctor sitting on the arm of a sofa.
"Have you make the call?"
"Yes."The doctor answered standing up.
"We need to make everything look real for the police to buy our story."
"How are we going to do that?"
"Turn the house upside down and make it look like there was a struggle."
"They began crashing things in the sitting room then proceed to the kitchen. They returned to the sitting room and looked at the mess they have created then created glanced at each other. The heard the sound of the siren as it rings loud in the air. They stared at the entrance as if waiting for someone to open the door. Hillary turned and looked at the doctor then hit him hard on the nose. The doctor started bleeding from the nose immediately.
"Ouch!" The doctor cried out. "What is this for?"
"I am sorry but a terrorist won't come into your house,fight with you and you won't get injured." Hillary shrugged.
"Is that so?"
"Ye..." A blow interrupted Hillary midway.
He bent down holding his nose. He stood up and glanced at the doctor as he throw a punch at him. They started throwing blows and punches at each other until their face was tattered and covered in blood. A bang on the door made them stop.
"It must be the police,tie me up immediately." Hillary instructed.
The doctor ran to the kitchen and came back with a rope tied Hillary down and rushed towards the door.
"Doctor Jonah." Hillary called. The doctor turned and looked at him. "Thank you for helping me." The doctor smiled,nodded and walked out.
Hillary lied on the floor with heart pounding,wondering what to do next. How is he going to prove he is not a terrorist and was just helping? What if they follow him to the prison? All this and other thought kept ringing in his head. He heard sound of the gate opening and his heart skipped a beat. He could hear footsteps approaching closer and closer. He looked up but was blocked by the sofa. A flash light was shines on his face,making him go blind for the moment. He shut his eyes tightly and turned his eyes away. One of the policemen used the butt of the gun to hit him on the head,just near his eyes. He groaned in pain as blood oozed out of the wound. The police men lynched on him and within seconds,the shape of his face has changed. The beat him to their satisfaction before bundling him into the van,soaked in his own blood.

OMG, this story is the bomb.

Episode 14




He was striped to his underwear and thrown into a cell. Cold water was poured on him,he began to shiver and slowly he started loosing his consciousness. Another round of cold water was poured on him to revive him and was followed by two slaps. Two policemen descend on him and began another round of beating. They stopped after awhile and pulled him on the floor to the interrogation room. His hands were handcuffed to the table and the policemen left the room.
He lean on the table,supported by his chest. Blood was coming out from his mouth and nose. His eyes were swollen and one of his eyes was was oozing blood. The door opened,he raised his head to see who had entered. A dark,hunky man entered and shuffled to the chair in front of him then sat down.
"It is a great opportunity to meet the great Hillary,mastermind behind the eagle square bombing." The man said rubbing his beard.
"I am not a terrorist." Hillary said softly,breathing heavily.
"That's what terrorist like you always say."
"You're all getting it wrong,I have no hand in the attack. I was just trying to help."
"Seriously?" The man giggled,resting his hands on the table.
"The real terrorist are out there planning to carry out other attacks,keeping me here will make things easier for them. I shouldn't have..." Hillary stopped talking and stared at the man.
"You shouldn't have what?"
"I am not a terrorist,believe me. I can help you catch the terrorist."
The man slapped him angrily. "You can help me catch the terrorist? Who is the terrorist if not you?"
"I am not a terrorist,I went to the eagle square to help."
"Will you shut up and stop vomiting trash!" The man yelled banging the table.
"I don't mind dying while saving my country but wouldn't want my name to be associated with terrorism."
"You're a terrorist,you will die a terrorist and the world will know you as nothing but a terro..."
"The National Hospital! Yes,that's their next target." Hillary interrupted happily.
"What are you saying?" The man asked confused.
"The terrorist have list of places they plan to carry out attacks and the national hospital is their next target."
"How did you know that?"
"I know their plan,trust me please."
The man stared confusingly at Hillary for a minutes,stood up and walked to the door.
"They are powerful,they are people in the government." Hillary said.
The man turned,glanced at him,grit his teeth,opened the door and left. He was left alone in the room for almost thirty minutes before some men came in and took him out of the room into a waiting van. A cloth was put over his face and the van drove away.

Episode 15



The journey lasted for almost an hour then the van came to a stop. He heard whispers followed by the sound of a gate opening;from the sound of the gate,it is a heavy one. The van drove in and he began hearing sounds of alarm ringing,his heart began pulsating.
The cloth was taken off his face and he quickly shut his eyes due to the light. He opened his eyes slowly and saw people dressed in blue jumpsuit and knew immediately that he was brought to the prison. The doors of the van was opened and he was pulled out and led into the building by the shoulder. The touch of the cold morning breeze on his skin made him realize he was still in his underwear. He was taken into a room and registered then given a blue jumpsuit to change into.
"Take him to cell 94." The head warden said. The three warders standing behind him turned and glanced at each other with a knowing look.
"Yes sir!"They saluted.
One of them led the way,followed by Him then the other two warders. He suspected all was not ok as the warden in the front kept looking back at him and the other two. They stopped at a door and the warden in front brought out bunch of keys and searched through them for the right key. He found the key and unlocked the door. He signalled to him to enter,he turned and look at the warders behind him then walked wearily inside. The door was shut and locked almost immediately. He stared at the door as the footsteps moved farther. He sighed relief;he is going to be free from them inside his cell. He wouldn't mind staying in prison till all is over.
He turned and studied the cell;it was not more than twenty feet,not quarter the size of his room. The cell was dark except for the tiny ray that passed through the small window at the top end of the cell. The cell was damp,combined with the smell of rotten mangoes. He wondered how the smell of rotten mangoes got into the cell. He glanced at the wall;it was painted blue which has faded already. He looked up at the ceiling,it was stained with a brownish substance. He was sure going to have a hell of a time. He shuffled and sat on the bunk bed.
"Comot for dat bed." A thunderous voice said.
