Be buried in your husband's compound
The custom only affects Urhobo daughters and not the wives

Emo ri Uhrobo, ode me yi Eghovokoghene. (sweating)
Oghene me!!!. Uhrobo no easy to write o. Lolz.
So I just thought I should create this thread so as to
1) Learn from Uhrobo elders on NL
2) Connet with Uhrobos on NL
3) Enlighten our Ogos, Men/women who got married to Uhrobo Man/woman.

You will agree with me that Uhrobo has so many taboos that some will make you cringe by just hearing them.
So if you know or have heard about a taboo you aren't sure of, please you can ask and am sure the Elders in the house will tell us if it's a myth or not.
As for me, I have heard a whole lot, but I can only remenber two.
[s]If a baby mistakenly eats its faeces, the mother will have to eat it too.
If a man commits suicide (God forbids) the woman will have to run around the market/village naked. [/s]

I heard once you are married as an Urobho woman, you must not defile your marital bed or else you will die, l don't know if it is true, let me wait for the urobho women on here to confirm, I also heard that Urobho women are sexually active because of the various chilly spices they eat and they are also good in the department of bedmatics and romancecology tongue

Not the woman per se. A married Urhobo woman who commits adultery automatically ruins her life and her home. Her children would die one after the other till there is none and then moves on to the husband before it gets to her.

The other part of your assertion is strange.

Is there some kind of juju that kills the innocent children or what?

Kinda. It is deeply rooted into tradition and is often triggered mostly among those whose traditional rites were properly done like it should.

Just Efe mentioned, it is fast thinning out, all thanks to the way and manner most Urhobo men and women get married.

Regardless, it is still in existence. I witnessed a very strong attack on a family about three years ago just because her lover gave her some money which she used in cooking for the family.

Make sure no one buries anyone in a father's compound...there's a secret behind it, if you want answers quote me privately and i'll tell you...Never ever agree for anyone to be buried in a family's compound for any reason
