Stanbic IBTC Bluepay setup fee (N50,000) Transaction fee :1.5% Customer service :Good and available nationwide as they have zonal staff on web payment.



The choice is yours. why pay higher transaction fee for life. I will rather go with Stanbic on this.

Voguepay is bae I use on my bulk sms portal www.domesms.com and other sites, they just reduced their fees few days ago.

Your gt card card which preferably should be tied to your gt Dom acct must be added to your PayPal acct.
Hover into the PayPal site and click send money.The field for acct input(username of the beneficiary) will pop.

Are you looking for the best payment gateway or the pros/cons of using a payment gateway (according to your post)

I cant advise you on the best payment processors to use. However, I can guide i determining the the best possible option based on your needs:

How big is your online business? Do you have a large base? If yes, you could integrate a payment processor. The advantage of this is that it it is easy on the customer. On the other hand, it is not a guarantee that they would prefer the online payment option. (I will come to this later)

If you are a starter, if your customer base is not large enough, it may be unwise to start with online payment processors. Why? Well, it me be counter productive since you may have to pay your processors based on the percentage of sales. After the percentage split, the margin may be too little to justify the use of the online processor. The alternative here is for you to secure a delivery deal with EMS or DHL) depending on your frequency of shipments) for a Pay on Delivery. Now, this is cheaper, much secure alternative in my opinion. Paypal is also another option. However, charge backs are a major problem with paypa. and they will side with the customer in 90 percent of the cases.

Pros and cons of an online payment gateway?

.not cheap. Most gateways have hidden costs anyway. The most expensive is possibly interswtich. You need to clarify this before signing up.
.they charge per percentage. Now consider this if you will not be making a lot of sales
.be careful of fraud. the problem with online gateways is that once in a while, a fraudulent transaction may get approved. Who bears the costs? some gateways actually charge a fee!
.charge backs. charge backs are horrible. this is the problem associated with fraudulent transactions. some processors would take the percentage for the transaction and still fault you for the fraudulent transaction.
.can go offline. frustrating in the middle of transactions
.the conundrum of secured transactions versus insecure transactions (verified by visa/master card secure). most customers want to just pay without the hassles of inputting security codes. customers hate it, merchants love it. This has been shown to drive away customers/drive down sales.
.refunds problems,
etc, etc, etc

If you are looking for the best payment gateway, go for VoguePay or you can try Remita, although they have crazy integration process and don't accept international transactions.
So VoguePay remains the best.
Their charges are the best. Better than GTPay and Interswitch, the con is you will have to reapply (re-submit some documents to verify your account information) before you can start receiving international transactions.

Once its a sav,current etc,you can make payment.

Not until last three months,you can always use master card(tied to naira or dollar acct) to make payments..The Nigerian banks stopped all cards linked to naira acct from being used on the international shopping sites 3-4 months back due to scarcity of fx.But I learnt some banks still allows it.If your bank does not allow it,then u must open a dom acct and get a card linked to it.This will allow u use the card on net.

Note that eBay,ali express,alibaba and other sites allow u to use your card directly by inputing card no,Security,expiry date etc or by using a PayPal link on this sites.

You need to set up your paypal acct to use the paypal feature on above sites.This u do by linking your card to your paypal acct.Linking involves putting your personal and card details in the required fields on PayPal site.

I couldn't complete registration on either browser. So I gave up.

Ensure that you enter in your correct card details and that there is a minimum of 500 naira in the bank account plus that you haven't done any international transactions exceeding 100 $ for the month

i use vogue pay for my site, initially when i registered i was asked to upload my letter of incorporation for the business, but later found out that you can just register as a business name(any business name you like) for N2,500.

This does not require a letter of incorporation, CAC registeration. just the name of your business(online johnny money Nig), your business address and phone number, plus the N2,500 for business verification.

Although i wish they would hurry up and start accepting btc(bitcoin)
