Holding other factors constant, as an Economist, I think I stand a good chance of doing very well in both the quantitative and verbal sections of the exam as you mentioned in your post. I was only pointing out the fact that other variables should be factored in other than the exams result alone. I know you will dispute this fact by telling me that it was used in shortlisting candidates for the test, yes, we always believe in status quo. Granted that exams are used to separate best candidates from others, it does not always depict a positive correlation with job performance. That is why most multinationals place high premium on experience, precisely for EHs. I Applied as EH with Msc, but I am still of the opinion that relying on exam results ALONE for selecting EHs in all the stages of recruitment process will be counter productive in the long run.

I didn't understand most of the things you typed. Anyway, this is not a time for argument. Meanwhile, read what I posted again. I said they should not use the test "ALONE", meaning the test plus other variables.

Aptitute test is used all over the world to fish out the best candidate out of many qualified candidate.

The Aptitude test was used to evaluate your use of English for effective communication, quantitative reasoning, and cognitive abilities.

I suppose an Experienced Hire (EH) ought to do better than inexperienced graduates (GT) in those areas.

However, every organization determines their means of recruiting new staff.

Professionalism is not stereotyped. It varies. I believe there are many EH who performed excellently in the test.

Prof. Ameh defined knowledge as what is left after learning. If I am to take common entrance examination now, my real knowledge of basic mathematics, English and science will be tested and not those days that I crammed and poured during examination.
Thanks for the definition of Knowledge but I do not totally agree with you on the fourth paragraph.

Good evening everyone.

This would be my first nairaland post and my first post on this thread.

I have followed this thread meticulously and I am a bit disappointed with the way some of us insult others that they might never meet in this life.

This is my take on the recent developments with respect to the email sent to some for the purpose of updating their profile on the online portal.

1. Those that were sent emails still have their portals open, while the ones not sent emails have their portals saying closed or moved. Painful as this may sound, the one sent emails are the ones that DPR wants to have further correspondence with.

2. When some individuals were invited to write the aptitude test, other were not even sent mails or text messages to sit for the same aptitude test. As I write this comment now, some have received regret mails while others are yet to receive regret mails.

3. The people that were not invited for the aptitude test when they log in to their profile, it still says portal closed.

4. The time the application portals were created was in November 2016, update mails were sent in October 2017. Almost a year has passed so has the CV of all the applicants that applied to DPR hence the need for having candidate portals updated is necessary.

The way this all played out speaks for itself. I may be wrong but hey never say never until it is clear who DPR invites over for the interview. I wish everyone that took the aptitude test on this thread good luck and success in the ongoing recruitment exercise.

This thread is now doing more harm than good. If we continue like this, the thread may lose its relevance and people may be forced to source for info.from other groups or forum.

Why is it so hard to keep ur opinions, speculations, permutations, inferences and conclusions to yourselves? Them no use hot water press una mouth wen una small? For heaven's sake, we have been saying; let DPR be the jury. Till then, keep your opinions to yourselves.

I called a top director who works at the HQ on Saturday. I was embarrased after the conversation. I said we are hearing speculations, he said from where? I answered "an online forum". He asked who created the forum? Is there any DPR HR personnel there? Is the forum or whatsapp group the mouth piece of DPR? He concluded by saying, relax, those are mere speculations!

I wonder why anyone would even let the opinion of speculators make them uneasy. Make una go rest abeg. This is my last post till interview invites start flooding in. Then we will discuss again. Best of luck!

Guys those who have quality Info here know that the closure of portal does not mean you wouldn't be called for an interview. That's why they are not saying much. Buh just to clear the air, Peeps just relax you will get ur invite via mail or SMS.
