Maybe the family thought he was dead and he wasn't. I've read stories of family mistakenly burying someone else's corpse thinking it was their loved and months or years later their loved one comes back home and narrate a different story.

I think I heard something like this too.

What if what they meant when they said "he died 20years ago, doesn't literally means that/it"

Maybe to them (family issues) caused them to say so. Maybe he was a prodigal man! or other stuffs.

She knew his address, that means he gave her (and dead man living would avoid any possible contact from anybody that may know him/her) and she has been there before.

Akudaya is real. A close family friend died mysteriously some times ago and was seen by someone else (who don't even have the idea that he is dead) in a far away state.
