Madam abi na Oga please stop lying. This is 2017. Even someone living in the village who haven't even visited Lagos but have an internet connection can easily expose you. The most you can make working as an immigrant Registered Nurse is just above $70,000 annually and that is after over 25 yrs of service. It is 100% certain you are still in your entry level. If you even make half of the money you quoted you won't write it here. Below friends is a link where you can check every single salary of a worker in the United States and please note that most times the money quoted is for those with very good quality education and not the cut and nail school must Nigerians go to, like community college that issue associate degree. This very link is a direct click to what a Registered Nurse earns. You can type in any profession and you will get the accurate pay scale

You finally met your match today. You are quoting California with many of her cities ranked as the most expensive place to live in. How much does it cost to buy or rent a three bedroom in California compare to other places in the United States? Mrs. America you don't earn $95,000 annually so don't even stress it. For a detailed study of salary in the United States please check the link below.

Lol!!...You know some people need to maintain delusional denial in their thought process in order to maintain sanity or else they might end up either committing suicide or causing someone else harm out of uncontrolled frustration.

Even Pres. Buhari gave up on the medical system in Nigeria and resulted into seeking with just ordinary ear infection treatment in UK.

And that is what all those so-called millionaires in Nigeria are doing by going to the States or UK to maintain their health and spending million and millions of naira to receive ordinary check-up treatments. And yet they wont spend that same money to maintain the worn out forgotten infrastructures and medical equipments in their own country. Shameless set of people.

You do realise China’s debt has been growing rapidly over this century and is now over 220% of GDP?

How do you think they funded all the construction and infrastructure spending to move people from the rural to urban cities?

At the moment the Chinese economy is still addicted to debt and they are trying hard to transition to a consumer driver economy like the U.S.

Besides i’m not sure why you are all arguing on this thread, there will be people Nigeria will work for, some China will work for, some US will work for. Live and let live and stop all this petty arguing.

actually the Chinese debt is owned by China itself

China's population is triple or more the size of both countries(US and UK) and goods are cheaper sold in China with higher purchasing power.

Hopefully when the US and UK stops interfering in other countries affairs and stop being the police of the world and focus on bringing back all those American companies back to the US and focus on growing it's economy all those debt to China hopefully will be reduced.

who will they be selling their products to at an expensive price?

Yes I agree majority of Chinese debt is local, but that does not make it better .

The majority of Chinese debt is local held locally as opposed to at federal level in the US due to the pressure on local leaders to increase output and in return GDP and this is more dangerous because I can assure you even the Chinese government do not have a clear picture of how much they owe. There is also massive systemic risk due to the fact China uses government back banks to continue to fuel debt and if comes crashing it can be really bad. I do hope they are able to sort it out and transition their economy as it matures if not the global economy will feel it.

I also acknowledge the US debt has to be tackled and while I do not like Trump's crazy talk he is one person who has spoken about dealing with it and I hope he can. Obama literally increased the debt ceiling every year fuelling social programs and welfare.

Anyway on this US v Nigeria issue I don't think it warrants all this argument and insults flying all over. Every individual knows where the shoe is pinching him and can make a decision accordingly. There are people who will make it in Nigeria and those who will not, those who will make it in US or China and those who will not.

Even New Zealand supposedly one of the best countries in the world for living standards has one of the highest homeless rates in the world and one of the highest teenage suicide rates so every country has it's pros and cons, its good sides and challenges though some more than others.

As a Nigerian in America, I've been reading all the respective comments on this thread and it's been quite entertaining. I'll like to add the following comments to the thread. Not every Nigerian is hustling in America; if you come here and go to school, you are bound to succeed. Education accelerates your earning potential. The key difference between Nigeria and the USA is how we treat one another and how are respective employers treat us. Decency is word, that is absent from our dictionary in Nigeria. Companies treat their employees with disdain and employees treat their employers with disdain. Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect in America, but there is a strong ethical culture (it does not work all the time, it works very well at least 90% ~ 95%) of the time.

I was recruited from business school by a Fortune 100 company, before graduating (6 months before). As part of the interview process I met with the CEO/Chairman of that company for an hour, this is a company with over $40 billion dollars in annual revenue. I was accepted to the company's executive training program, which until last year I was the only black man in that program. I am one of the Senior executives in one of our $1 billion divisions and the only black man and most senior minority. I don't come from a wealthy family in Nigeria, to the contrary I was able to take advantage of the opportunities before me.

Today I manage a team of people with MBA's from some of the best business schools in the world. This past month, I promoted a young man on my team who is barely 27. Five years out of the University he is easily making over $100K per annum and this does not include his annual bonus. Can this happen in Nigeria? He came to me earlier this year and said, Sir I would like to pursue my MBA and it costs $80K, can the company sponsor me? I said absolutely, I will pay for your MBA from my departments budget, because I know that we are investing in him. This is the way great companies in America operate. I recently hired an entry level analyst, I tried very hard to look for a minority to hire, but did not get any resumes. The entry level job, fresh out of the university is $60K per annum, no Nigerian makes this straight out of the university.

The arguments we are having here don't make any sense, because we are not comparing apples to apples. Nigeria has potential, but it not yet the USA. To end, let's not talk about salaries, let's talk about bonuses where people are paid annual bonuses exceeding $200K per annum in addition to their salaries. We need to elevate our discuss and say how can our country Nigeria do better. This is my personal experience and I hope it encourages someone out there.

Re: Lies Of Nigerians Living In America by Nobody: 11:26pm On Oct 31, 2017
the way transparentcalifornia.com works is that it shows you salary per year from the highest to the lowest, the highest earners are in the peak of their careers,so most are old people with lot of experience and advanced qualifications.

it is a similar system every where in the world, the higher you grow in age and the more experience you get the more your salary increases

the most lucrative sectors for high income in US if young is in investment banking on wall street or in SV but you must graduate from an elite school like mit or stanford.

There are 0.001% of nigerians working in investment banking on wall street or in SV.these positions target most whites and asians.

Funny enough, there are lot of Nigerians on transparentcalifornia.com salaries that are not up to par or similar with a civil servant per annul pay in naija, those Nigerians would have been better off in Naija.

Also, most immigrant Nigerians study in a community college or have a 2 year degree so they get low salary or live in a low income area with bad schools meaning bad education for their children and less opportunity.

the people that enjoy the system with student loans and most times they study hard are the second generation(immigrant children) those one if they study hard or get good grades in High school are always given full or partial scholarship to ivy league school or a top tier school.and these people among Nigerians immigrant are few.

your story doesnt seems right,i feel you are lieing

you cant use department budget to fund a staff education,is that not fraud and stealing?,a staff going for further education(study leave) is either going on his own cash or if the staff is very valuable the company might decide to sponsor him partially or full and all processes are done in HR.

Something again you missed is that in Nigeria there are 23 years old ceos collecting fat salaries,so what is your point?

standard of living are different in both countries,i could be rich with $100 in Nigeria while in america $100 might be in the poverty range, truth be told, cost of living is cheaper in Nigeria than in america,A person earning $100,000 per annul salary might not be able to live a good life in Silicon Valley because of the high cost of Living.

there are people suffering in the US and also in Nigeria and i have met lot of Nigerians in the US doing menial jobs and they regretted their decisions in moving to the US,life is not easy anywhere and we understand Nigeria is not on per with the US but let the truth be told, life is not rosy in the US as marketed to the world.some Nigerians in the US would have been better off in Nigeria.

We need to elevate our discuss and say how can our country Nigeria do better. This is my personal experience and I hope it encourages someone out there.

Can you please tell us what you have achieved with your $200K bonus so far and how have you contributed to Nigeria in any way or form? You are stating your success story with no logical backing. You cannot prove all you've stated as nobody here knows your real worth and none can attest to your claim especially as you are a stranger to Nigerians in Nigeria. Even in the US I'm sure you are not known so how do we verify your claim

I know a young man that buys cargo ship from UK yet he lives in Nigeria, he earns millions and there are many like him in Aspanda, trade fair, tincan, etc earning millions and travelling round the globe yet they do not have more than primary six education. That's the difference between Nigeria and US. Down here, you don't need to attend Harvard business school to make millions ask those into importing and exporting business.

Nigeria is a land of opportunities even without formal education one can make it, especially if you dedicate time to study how and what legit business men and women are doing. Can you make such money without education in the US?

mr man they actually care about age, sometimes the US embassy deny people visa because of age and some universities wont admit if you are a matured student
Of course..the embassy. Read my message again..i said "Uni or employer".

Could you post a link from any university website to back up your admission denial to matured student?

In most cases...anyone in the late 20's is also classified as a matured student.

Even in Nigeria, a 3rd world country, universities dont deny admissions to old people. My uncle a former senior lecturer in botany returned to unilag and got his law degree at 55.

Ok, have you heard of karma? Sometimes it makes people do silly stuff. Ask yourself why lottery winners become broke, because wealth doesn't last if one didn't suffer for it. This explains why people like Buhari seek treatment abroad, Nigeria is stinkingly rich and these people are spending cursed money, which cannot be used wisely

Someone I know recently buried her grandmother who was a centenarian. This old woman has never travelled abroad, how then did she live to the age of 105? In Nigeria where the West has doctored and reduced life expectancy on paper, well go to our rural areas and see old people who have never travelled abroad for medical treatment living healthy meanwhile take a second look at the elderly folks in the West, how most of them are so feeble despite all the medical provision they get.

If your aim is to ridicule our health system down here then Buhari and the political class have done the job already but I assure you that many folks live very long here without ever seeking treatment abroad
