And you thought he replied in a rude manner? Think again. A company that values their staff will allow them choose a time for their interview. When I was called for an interview, it was the MD that did the call and after the phone interview, he was impressed by what he heard. He told me to come to the office same day by 12 pm, I told him I was busy with something and that I will be come the next day. He accepted and we agreed on the time. This is professionalism and I respect him for that.

Is not everybody that is so desperate for job..As a professional you dont just accept any job interview arrangement that will put stress on you..why would a company send an interview schedule so short like this n espect someone to be their within d stapulated time..when you get there you will understand.

My worst experience was traveling from PH to Kaduna for NAMA interview that they had already penciled those they would absorbed. I remember this with pains and regret everyday. To this day if you will not interview me in PH or by call forget about it.
Last time I was applying for DPR's openings where they asked for choice of centre I said Port Harcourt. They mentioned second choice I had to click Port Harcourt again. I had no intention of traveling out of Port Harcourt for any 'gadem' interview. Eventually I was not shortlisted. I have no regret over it. Value yourself your employer will reciprocate that.

Naso ICSL sent me an invite sometimes back on a Mon evening to come for an interview on Tues by 9am, I was like, na so i need job reach, I just ignored them. You go reach interview unprepared, dem go still rubbish you, so why go?

In 2012 I decided I would relocate from Scotland to Canada, then I applied for a job. The company in Canada sent a email and we agreed a timing for the interview, by phone. They called and we spoke. A few days later they asked for another interview to clarify a few things, we repeated this like 3 times eventually they made an offer, we negotiated and they offered to process my TWP. I decided to travel back to Nigeria to spend time with family. They processed my visa via Lagos and for two years we were on this process. The key thing is they never saw me face to face, never asked me to go to any office in Scotland or England or Nigeria to confirm my person. All done online.

A friend of mine works with a multinational in London, his direct supervisor sits in Texas in USA. They see maybe 3 times a year. This has been on for over 6 years.

One day Nigeria shall catch up with the rest of the world in the ease of doing business, until then.... do what you can to get what you need.

Not what you think dear. Most times the grass looks greener on the other side. I actually wanted the job but I have never been desperate for anything in my life. When you show/they sense desperation, they will want to wash you!
