Why should smokers be generally seen as negative or bad people as compared to drinkers. Drinkers are even worse in my opinion. Normally, cigarettes were originally sold as expensive handmade luxury goods for the urban elite. It was not until mass-production methods coupled with aggressive marketing that the industry began to see off traditional pipe-smoking and tobacco-chewing habits, particularly in the United States.

Lets take some instances, you are walking along the way, two paths lead to your house. Path A , you can sight a bunch of guys smoking away their sorrows from afar. Path B, you can sight a bunch of guys drinking away their sorrows. Which path will you feel is safer to your house? Path B of course. Or another is you being asked to identify who the prostitute is among two women. Both are nearly half naked but one is holding a stick of cigarette while the other is not. Who will you tag as the prostitute among them? Your guess is as good as mine.
Smokers are humans, drinkers are even worse than them. Its high time we stopped our negative view toward smokers, tagging them as touts, prostitutes and hooligans.

There's a company in Ibadan, Oyo State called BAT which stands for British American Tobacco. Some nine years ago, some workers who are to start work with them were taken to a hospital in Lagos for medical check up. A few were dropped and others employed. There were operating different machines within the facility complex. Six months after, one of them have to change his overall as the clothes have become tattered. What was responsible? The 11 hours daily exposure to the tobacco dusts. Well, they all continue to work but all of them today no longer work there. They have either died or have developed illnesses that can barely be managed and for which they pay lots for medical bills. Not only that, these former workers in early 30s look more older than their grandfathers.

My bro died of cigarettes smoking, it affected his heart so much, he was coughing out blood with blood oozing out from his nose one fateful day after many years of smoking.

Before we could save him, his heart was already affected, followed by the collapse of one his kidneys due to excessive alcohol.

The doctor simply told him, point blank he does not love himself during one of his numerous doctor and patient visits.

I can't even date / marry a guy who smokes or drinks like a chimney cos the fear is deep in my mind already.

Sighs, May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

You might be right about tobacco but believe Tobacco (nicotine) is different from marijuana(Tetra hydro cannabinol)

Just ystaday i was together with my paddies in a bar. They all smoke but i dnt smoke, I drink but what Fascinate me most about them is the Way they set their mouths upwards and the speed at which the smoke jet out of their mouth.....Itis interesting to me

I DON'T smoke. However, I can never judge anyone's character based on the person is a "smoker" or "non smoker". From my observation, smokers (at least majority i know) are very nice n wonderful fellow. I have no problem whatsoever making friend with a smoker (just don't persuade or try sweet-talking me into smoking n I won't talk you out of smoking, if you smoke responsibly). No doubt, there is a strong bond among smokers but you as a non smoker you need to know what you really want for you to be firm in your decision of not smoking.
PS: It's much more easier for a cow to go through the eyes of a needle than for me to be influenced by peer pressure.

cigarette affects the kidney. I don't tag them as bad people. I only pity the long term impact on their health.

The long term effect on the breath of heavy smokers is also terrible. For instance, one of my lecturers in school was a heavy smoker, his breath was extremely terrible.
