Stop generalizing! What's with this Nigerians this and Nigerians that! You do realize we are a nation of different tribes right? so why would you think all 186million+ of us think alike? You are not kowtowing to anybody, its basic human manners. Knowledge is freely shared on this platform and everyone deserves to be treated with equal respect. If you don't like how "Nigerians" roll pls look away from this thread and face somewhere else. You are trying to act more American than Americans. Or are you a VO in disguise? Say who you really are and state why you are always so disgruntled about honest people trying to have their babies in America. I hope you realize that lots of dishonest people with bad intentions don't bother to read up this thread? Pls be polite to people here or look away. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing!

If there were all honest people here, this thread would not exist... i would encourage you to take your own advice. Politeness begets politeness. QED.

This is an open forum, not a personal blog, so unfortunately you cannot control who posts and how they post. You can only control what you post. Last I checked, i never quoted you in the first place. It is beyond me why you’re shedding more tears than the bereaved.

Honestly, Im convinced you are a child! That's why you are reading but not comprehending. I'll peg your age at maybe 20 or 21. You feel so privileged that you live in America. I feel sorry for people like you, who surround their worth to a country. Especially one that your black life does not even matter. You think you are better than people in Nigeria because you live in the US Pls study or work or do whatever the heck you went to America to do in the 1st place and stop bothering hormonal Auntys like me. Ain't nobody got time to be arguing with a child

Aunty, you don’t sound anymore mature. As I said earlier, you seem more upset than the person who asked the Medicaid question. I wonder why...

If you didn’t think it was a privilege to live in the United States then why are you here, paying thousands to have a child here?

Where I choose to have my child is none of your nosey business! I'm not upset at all, I'm actually irritated by your overall responses on this thread and I know you can do better but you just choose to always sound cocky and sarcastic. Anyway since you have missed the point from my 1st response to you, I don't see you changing your mentality. However, if you come for me best believe I'll come back at you ✌️

Where you choose to have your baby isn’t my business, on that we are agreed. Except it exposes the utter inanity of you whining about others feeling privileged to live in the United States. Shouldn’t where I live be none of your business too?

What is good for the goose... it is your choice to be irritated by my response and your decision to respond to it as you see fit. It is my choice to be irritated by any hint of fraud... why you feel entitled to your choice and how I express mine is befuddling.

See this statement "I feel sorry for people like you, who surround their worth to a country. Especially one that your black life does not even matter"...and this is the same country she has hopefully spent millions in naira last year and will be spending more millions of Naira this year just to have her children be citizens of(American Citizens).

I don't hate America and it's not a do or die for me. However, having dual citizenship creates great opportunities. I've never touched or plan to use Medicaid so I'm sure that "embracing" statement is not directed at me as I pay all my bills in full. My point is that we should pass our points politely without assuming people on here are going to give birth fraudulently.

Twoods I was addressing is the one that acts upset when people ask of Medicaid innocently. Think about it, If they think it was ok to use it, they won't come here to verify. They'd just go ahead and use it. Pls get my point and don't make this a joke.

Yes i think it's best not to use dropbox if your last visit was to have a baby or if your present reason is to have one.Saves from a lot of stress.

Thanks for your response. How did you resolve the accommodation issue? Are you also on a tourist visa or a medical one? Which state did you settle on? Can you PM me so we discuss further?

Thanks again!

Oke2017:
Hey,

Where exactly do you intend to give birth? If you have a particular state in mind then you have to google it .. send them a mail and also wait for their reply.. i did the same, and got lots of replies. Its simple and not a big deal. Send as much mail requesting for cost of delivery... then you can weigh your options. Im due in April and im leaving 2nd week of March. Ive gotten a hospital, im just waiting on March so i can leave.

quote author=zizirecords post=62670283]Dear Family,

My wife and I plan to deliver in the US early next year. I am completely new to this. Can anyone share a step-by-step guide along with recommendations? Even helpful links? Costs will be helpful as well. We have the visa already (Tourist). When should we travel? During the visa interview, we confessed about the pregnancy (very early stage then) and the VO said if we decide to give birth, we should try to pay all bills and he wrote that in our file.

Thanks in advance!

It's a joke when folks ask of Medicare. Na una contributions? LOL. Seriously when pple ask 'innocently' it is because their bills skyrocketed and since the hospital doesn't trust u obeying d payment plan, the former pushes it to d govt. U push it here and expecting a favorable take, all in all, no free lunch, even d discount being bandied here, is being picked up by residents who work out their assessed.. Maintain ur trust with d embassy.. paying 100% no matter what. U need to apologize to that guy u guys always gang up against.. U know black lives matter involves u too!

2) we will not take Medicaid or any other benefits that are not our due...and in all matters relating to honesty and integrity.. .we will do better.

3) we will give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they really don't know that's why they are asking.

QED. Its just that simple. When people ask for discounts and medicaid, they don't exist. Someone else is picking up the slack (either in form of taxes or insurance premiums). The hospitals happily push these as options since it is a lot easier for them to send government a bill than trust you to pay what you truly owe. Have the integrity to do exactly as you promised at your visa interview... pay 100% of what you owe. The idea of medicaid should never come up at all... black lives do matter, but we cannot demand others respect us if we can't respect basic rules of decency.

If you're upset about this, sorry. But the truth isn't going to change simply because you have a problem with it. Episodes such as the above are reasons i no longer subscribe to the Nigerian version of "christianity". 99.9% of the cheats, liars and uncouth folks here are likely the first people in church on sunday.
