Can I book a flight? I plan visiting Niagara Falls (Toronto) and war museum at Ottawa, casa loma , ripleys aquarium. must the hotel I book close to it, if yes how close. Cos apart from Niagara falls , the other sites are close to each other.

A member of my church plans to sponsor me and my wife and two kids for a five days tourist to canada. He has a registered oil company, he will print the company's statement of account with the minimum of 50m balance with a letter backing it up from him as the one financing the trip.
I will be summit my pastoral i d card, itenary, marriage certificate, kids birth certificate, letter from kids school, land properties documents, self introduction letter, church recommendation letter, hotel reservation.
Pls do I stand a chance and what other documents do I need to summit, pls kindly advice me

Helloo house, justwise and everybody.
My journey for this TRV Application began when I started asking little little questions abt d application procedure.

As time goes on, I realized my questions were not being properly attended to by the experience guys around... Unlike in d early pages of this thread.

Eventually, I gathered all d necessary info, I applied online (family application for 4 : my wife, I, my little baby and my sister inlaw ) on 17th Nov.

But a lot went wrong.

Biometrics on d same day

Got denial msg this morning.
Reasons : Purpose of visit, current employment situation and personal assets and financial status.

Purpose of visit.. My brother in law invited us all for his daughter's birthday. D last time they all saw him was in 2012 when he came to get married.

Current employment : I am a medical Dr. I earn 260k. My wife earn 275k,( we both av close to 2.5m each). My sister in law has a block making industry with a fat income and abt 4 million in her account. Although she only paid abt 15k tax diz yr.

Personal asset: I av a car but didn't attach d document. I attached a land survey document in our names (Mr and Mrs Lagbaja)
My sister in law attached her own too.

Now, how cud they av denied us?


The only mistake I made was dat when we wanted to upload the proof of means of financial, all the employment details, statement of account etc d file was abt 15mb.
I eventually compressed it to 3mb but unknowingly to me, it was abnormally compressed to black and white.

Can this be the reason?

Or is it because when I was applying, under how much is available for travel... I put 10,000 CAD, My wife filled 10,000 CAD too and my in law put 15,000CAD.

Or is it true I dnt really have tie or do they think I want to do a family run away?
Or because of no travel history? Although, it wasn't mentioned.

I ve been trying to pin point where things went wrong.

Thinking of appealing, reapplying very soon or leave everything behind.

House pls come to my rescue dis time around unlike b4...

Dear sleekier, sorry for your refusal. You have to apply for your GCMS to understand this refusal in full and from the VO’s perspective. However, in my opinion, I suspect some errors.
Firstly, as I have always advised, whenever an application is for an entire family, the burden is greater on the applicants and the application has to be more detailed and rooted.
Secondly, you earn decent money. Noted. And ,between you and your wife, 5m naira. But the money you have available for this trip( which may be interpreted as the budget for the trip) was 20000CAD for you two which is more than 5m naira but what will raise a VOs concern is why you are budgeting your entire savings for this trip. Did you use the letter of explanation to clarify that this was not your intention? Because, it somewhat seems like you were planning to not return.

If you decide to reapply sometime, make your nuclear family application. Make sure your proof of funds is very legible and Itemize your money properly. You and your wife can afford a holiday trip with your child to Canada it just has to be carefully presented to a VO and make sense. Also make sure your documents are legit and no previous denials on an issue that hasn’t been addressed. Again, travel history has no play in this refusal as new travelers get visas daily and the VO didn’t even bother to tick it. It was mostly about funding which you have but did not itemize carefully leading the VO to think otherwise. Your GCMS notes will clarify this refusal. Best of luck

Hi bigcil2, I see you shunned someone who raised a concern about the money you have as balance. A VO may be worried too. You have a business account with a lot of money but this is a business account, the VO will not want you to spend Business money on a leisure trip. Now you have 200k as savings. This is different if you had say a salary account and then transfer money out when salary is paid into a savings account or if you have a business account and pay yourself salary. If you do not separate your money carefully to make it clear to the VO, no matter how much millions you may have, a denial might be imminent on funding grounds.
In my opinion and to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge;
The budget of your trip should be in your saved money. 1500CAD is obviously too much for someone that has 200k Naira. Include flight and hotel in your entire budget for the trip and itemize what each Money is for.
If you have never applied to CIC(now IRCC) before, you do not have a UCI and shouldn’t fill any. If you have applied(approved or denied) you need to track your old application and retrieve the UCI from there. If your old application was approved, the UCI is on the bottom right corner, usually 8 digits.
On purpose, get a flight reservation to your destination in Canada but do not pay. You can use any airline website for this. Go to Booking.com or Airbnb for a hotel reservation that cancels free and make sure it’s payment on arrival. Do not pay for anything until a sticker is affixed to your passport.
As for the sites to visit, make the VO understand you know what you’re doing and the cost implications. You mentioned that apart from Niagara Falls, the others are together which is false. Niagara Falls is not even anywhere near Toronto. It’s over an hour drive away and will cost money to get to. Ottawa is a completely different city and over an hour flight from Toronto and will set you back at least 150CAD one way. For the aquarium and some sites, there may be entry fees. Have you budgeted for these?
A letter of explanation is, at least how I write mine, a detailed yet short letter (not more than 2 pages) written to a VO by an applicant to explicitly address the concerns a VO may have when considering the application. Make use of this letter. It can be very helpful and please don’t make it boring and don’t beg. State facts with documents to back it up.
Always remember that the onus is on you to convince a VO. Best of luck

My lovely nairalanders, please help me thank Almighty God o�. I was given the Canada visitor visa, valid till 2020 when my passport will expire,. I collected my passport on November 23rd. I submitted the passport at the visa application centre on 20th November after I received passport request on 19th November through online route. To God be the glory �, Praise God!
