all good and fast
Be careful with Genex.
Seems they're running a a Ponzi scheme with their "fixed deposit plans" so if that comes crashing down it'll take the whole outfit down.

I am aware of that thread. I think it was created by someone just to discredit them.

I personally use genex regularly if i am not transacting peer-to-peer. I have tons of guy i refer to genex exchange, there has been no single complain anytime, anyday

In fact they call you if there were incorrect entries on your buy/sell form. Their service is very fast too.

Dont believe everything you read on nairaland.

Good day crypto community people,
It's nice to be back one small with all u fine people !!
I guess there are some persons who are not happy with the birth of this CRYPTO topic thread on nairaland.
...Otherwise how else would u explain the fact that almost immediately after creating this thread, I was unfairly banned by the moderators of nairaland just for putting up a post. -An act I consider extremely unfair and unjust.
It should be noted that investment in Cryptocurrencies just like every other asset class like stocks, real estate etc, all has its measure of risk and people should be allowed to be their own CEO without any kind of limitation or prejudice.
I believe that one of the core essence of creating nairaland is to have platforms thru which people of like minds can come together to share knowledge for the overall benefit of all. Therefore, when people are banned just for airing their veiws, it takes away from that real essence because nobody, I repeat, no one can force anything on anyone. That said, its normal to have General rules that enforces discipline but not when someone had merely aired their view.
To the moderators who banned me, hear this; Onegentleguy is one person who would never try to mislead people to make money from them. -Take it or leave it, I can not trade my integrity for anything and those who know me can attest to this fact.
It will also do the moderators a lot of good to read thru my signature and by extension, all my post/contributions both on NSEMPA and this newly formed thread.
For the purpose of clarity, I intend to still put up the post for which I was banned.

To all lovers of the crypto world, let us all stand firm against prejudice.
To all crypto enthusiast around the globe, I salute u.
It's indeed an honour to be here. ...I am humbled and consider it a privilege to be in the mist of u fine people !!
As we share knowledge to enlighten ourselves on affairs around the crypto world, I wish us all a wonderful and prosperous experience !!
GOODLUCK TO us all.

Alarib:

Well there are different ways to get cryptocurrencies, either you "make" them by mining, or you buy them from exchanges.

Mining works by using computing power to secure POW cryptocurrency blockchains by ordering and validating transactions.
Miners are rewarded for their work by being paid in the coin they're securing.
There are hundreds of cryptocurrencies and some are mineable, while others are not.
Some are easy to mine with a CPU, others require GPUs, while some, like Bitcoin, are not profitable unless with ASICS.
You can go to
coinwarz.com
to see the ranks of different coins based on profitability.
Please stay away from "cloud mining" they are all Ponzi schemes or scams on people that don't know how mining works.
If you know how mining works then you'll know it's not profitable for you renting the hashpower, or them actually leasing the hashpower.

You can also earn them by working and getting paid in crypto, there are sites on the internet that pay in crypto eg Bitjob.

If you want to get coins/tokens for free there are faucets and airdrops/bounties.

Faucets require you to perform tasks like solving CAPTCHA or watch ads for miniscule amount of bitcoin, like 1000 Satoshi's or less every 10 minutes (a Satoshi is the smallest unit of bitcoin, 1 bitcoin = 100,000,000 Satoshi's)
To get 60,000 Satoshi's ($6 or so),you'll have to solve 600 captchas. So you'll need to solve captchas for 60 hours straight (~2 and a half days) to get $6 worth of bitcoin.
So you can see that it's not worth the stress.

Airdrops/Bounties:
Airdrops are a way for developers to distribute their coins to as much people as possible.
There are different ways you can apply, usually it involves you filling a Google form online with your email address, wallet address, or bitcointalk username.
Some require you to promote them on social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc) for which you'll earn their tokens/coins in return.
You can sell the coins received on exchanges.
Depending on the success of the project and the volatility in the market you can make as little as a few cents to $150 or more by selling the tokens you got for free.

I have been using local bitcoin to buy btc.
I checked remitano and discovered I can get a better bargain if I want to sell.
I will like to clarify a few things:
Does remitano charge deposit and withdrawal fees like local bitcoin?
Do they charge any fee for advertisement?

Yes there's a transaction charge (approx 1%) when u buy or sell on remitano.
No u dont get charged for deposits including transfers made from other sources to ur remitano wallet.
Yes u are charged same 1% approximate fee for withdrawals made from ur remitano wallet to other wallets.
No there are no charges for advertisements.

Hope this helps sir Leo.
