By all biblical and conventional standards, tithe is 10%.

Nothing more and nothing less!

30% increment is no longer tithe but a sacrifice or seed or an offering.

When God asked Noah to build an Ark, he gave him the fashion and measurements. When God asked Moses to build the Ark of Tabernacle, he was given a fashion and measurement.

They both kept absolutely to the dictates and instructions of God.

Therefore, over zealousness is not godliness. It is simply spiritual rascality.

1 Corinthians 14:40 says; "Let all things be done decently and in order".

Tithing was not a law but a commandment, " bring ye all tithes"
Let me tell you, tithing is a form of giving, and God appreciate it, it is a form of worship.
Nothing bad if you decide to give to God more than your 10%.
The Macedonia church gave to God beyond their power as it is recorded in

2 Corinthians 8:3
For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

so your point of overzealousness is absurd

Hebrews 7:5King James Version (KJV)

5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham

18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

When you read the verse, it specifically mentions tithe as part of the law of moses that has been disannulled because it has lost usefulness or profitability

Tithing is 10% but within you and a purpose can go on a ratio above... I don't pay 10% because it is too poor being that i want extra-ordinary grace for providence though i know the recommended is 10%...
We all can't do same and want or need same magnitude of providence.

So you settle more because you want more favors? Is your God a Nigerian/politician because anyone who calls himself a Christian knows that Grace cannot be bought.

I just laugh out loud how easy it is for this so called God's general to be "psych' ..I mean it's so elementary.

I have alays knew they were too greedy and full of them self's. What I did not quiet know was the level.

Ignoring this boy simply would gave made him a rant. One who is solely talking to himself. See how their greed for money (tithe) and big ego that can not take the slightest provocation is gradually molding this boy into some kind of hero.

Something is not right with this men of God. Now I see it all too well. Humility and self control.

All those things are personal and is dependent on an individual's personal relationship with God. Mark the difference: Christians and Jews.

Christians are no longer under the Jewish law.

Tithe was an observation under the Jewish law for the sake of the priestly duties in the temple, but since the temple and it duties no longer exist, that was abolished when Jesus who came with a spiritual priesthood arrived.

The truth is prevailing in Christianity everyday. God as begin to show people the way with lifting freeze up...... problem with Christianity is that many people don't read Bible and don't know what that its is In the bible and what its contains. God said eternal courses shall rain on anybody that's add to theword of God or remove from it.... now a pastor decided to add 20% to tithe and some still support it. Jesus that u plp are following didn't even ask for food from deciples not to talk of tith.
