I will like you bring to your attention that prior to Jesus' death and resurrection the era of Grace had not fully kicked in. That means that the people were still under the law and the commandments of Moses. The Bible says Jesus did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. In Luke 5:14, Jesus commanded a man he healed of leprosy to go show himself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses required. There are many more examples were Jesus told people to obey the law of Moses. This is because the era of Grace hasn't been ushered in by his death and resurrection. We are now under Grace. Under the law of Moses, you don't 'give" tithe, you PAY tithe: they are two different things. After eating in a restaurant, you don't give for your meal , You PAY for your meal. It's a debt. Moreso, you don't pay a gift , you GIVE a gift.

Under grace, we are called to be cheerful givers!!! Jesus paid ALL your debts. Everything we do towards is a gift of our love back to him .... We love him because he first Loved us!

He said, “Daddy Freeze is right by calling tithe-paying a modern scam. Tithe paying is not of Christianity and we expect well educated men of God like Pastor Adeboye and Bishop (David) Oyedepo (of The Living Faith Mission) to tell their congregations this biblical truth.
“Malachi 3:6 to 10, the Bible passage being used to threaten Christians refers to the descendants of Jacob, who are children of Israel, and not Christians.
“Nigerians are descendants of Ham, the race referred to as the Gentiles, while the Israelites are descendants of Shem, which is the house of Jacob.
“Men of God should interpret the Bible in the context of the writing as well as the history of the period of writing. In verse 7 of Malachi 3, the Bible records that the Israelites did not keep to the law of paying tithe ‘ever since the time of their fathers’, and were being admonished to change.

So Jesus should have stated that the Jewish law has ended and these Jewish laws that have ended categorically includes: tithe, sacrificing animals in the temple, having the passover, or observing the sabbath and many other Jewish observations before you stop.

In Heb 7:4-10 Apostle Paul refered to that Abraham incidence when he said that Christ priesthood was greater than those paid by the Levi, who were assumed to have paid tithes as being of the loins of Abraham.

Note that Abraham did what he did not as a custom or religious obligation. He did not also oblige his descendants to it. So calling it a tithe or a compulsory 10% giving is out of the way.

And yet, apostle Paul still reminded them that Christ priesthood was greater which annulled tithes.


The second account about Jacob was a voluntary decision he made, he was not compelled by religious obligation or any custom. You can read that in that account:

Jesus and his followers were no longer on a priesthood arrangement, so the tithe arrangement was no longer necessary. If it was Apostle Paul, Peter would have demanded from the members of the church.

Instead of giving fixed, specified amounts to defray congregational expenses, they were to contribute “according to what a person has,” giving “as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2Co 8:12; 9:7)

1. Grace is UNMERITED favor. Which means you don't pay for it, either with 0.1%, 10% or 30% tithe.

2. Even if you paid 100% as tithe, it is of zero value before the Lord. If your purpose for paying the tithe is so you can receive "extra-ordinary grace for providence", then it is as worthless as throwing that money down a drain. God is not man who can be bribed. He does not give grace to the highest bidder.

Your post is an eye-opener to how misinformed most "christians" truly are.

Even the 10% is infinitesimal, but something must be given being time or any brother... we are commanded as Christians to pay tithe and forget what it is used for because He must keep to His path after our commitment.
