And what will that achieve?

@ explorers, I wish you could do something Nigerian based. There are many Nigerians in our justice system stuck in "awaiting trial" for years without ever seeing a court of law
Nigeria doesn’t even have the know-how to detect wrongful conviction.

Once a case is decided by the Supreme Court that’s the end of it.

Wish they hired a better DA to defend them. Somebody like Prof. Keating in HTGAWM.

The Man Who was Wrongfully Convicted for Fatally Poisoning His 7 Children.

James Richardson is healing, but it's a long, long process.

The 77-year-old Florida man recently returned to his hometown of Arcadia, where in 1967 he was wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for the poisoning deaths of his seven children.

He spent 21 years locked up for the heinous crime, his children died from lunches laced with pesticide after being framed by authorities and alleged by prosecutors to have killed his young for insurance money.

Years later, the woman who had been babysitting Richardson's children while he and his wife were away working confessed to the crime, so Richardson was freed from prison.

I know, but history and the American/British police/law enforcement agencies think otherwise.

Something just touched me.
Can we have a section/topic/thread where we can make financial contributions to hire a good lawyer who will visit prisons to free the wrongly accused, awaiting trail inmates and so on?
My heart bleeds right now for all of them.

The Man Who Served the Longest Time in Prison Before He was Eventually Sprung By DNA Evidence

Imagine going from a few parking tickets to being locked away in prison for 35 years of your life for a crime you never committed.

That's what happened to James Bain, a Florida man who was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to life in prison for breaking and entering, kidnapping, and rape in 1974.

Bain maintained his innocence from day one, asking the courts for DNA testing.

A nonprofit called the Innocence Project Florida that is dedicated to helping exonerate the wrongfully convicted heard his case and decided to help him.

It's a good thing they did.

DNA evidence showed that Bain could never have committed the rape, and eight months later he was a free man.

The 35 years that Bain spent locked up is the longest time served by a person who was eventually freed thanks to DNA evidence.

Bain received $1.7 million in compensation from the state upon his release.

I think there is a man who has exceeded that time in prison after being wrongfully sentenced. The dude spent 39 years. He was released recently and now 70 years.

Most of these people were falsely accused of rape. This is worrisome and it is still happening till date. So.. Before you all start casting stones. Be very sure the accused is guilty as charged.

This must be really traumatic; dealing with the loss of 7 children then false conviction.

I once watched a movie - Conviction. Still my best movie till date. A little boy was wrongly convicted for killing a neighbor, he had served 18yrs till his sister decided to go to study law and revisit the case herself using DNA evidence. He was eventually freed.

This thread just brought to mind a quite perplexing story I heard about an unlawful conviction of twin sisters in oko prison, benin city. The judge sentenced the identical twins to jail because there was no substantial evidence to prove which of the two of them committed the crime. It seemed the guilty one refused to plead guilty.

Maybe both are innocent.

Trust me, through those years, the real killer was also mentally and psychologically imprisoned.

The guilty are afraid.

That's why I will always say that man cannot give true Justice. God I don't want to suffer for what I don't know about. It's very sad to waste about three decades in a prison of what you know nothing about

I cannot imagine the pains of the man that lost his Children. As if it was not enough, he was falsely convicted for the murder of his own children. Later some people will argue whenever I say that some persons are demons in human form.
