It could be so frustrating waiting for a particular email for long and even longer.
To all August applicants, I submitted my application Aug 9th and I got response on the 4th December (Approved)
My mum submitted her Visiting application on the 10th August and she hasn’t got any response yet.
I advice that August or month before August should be more patient. All the mails I sent- up to 4 times before a CSE for my Mum srating my details didn’t fast track anything. At their time they will check it.

I appreciate every ones question and response on this group.Although I got to know about this group after I submitted my application.

My advice to every applicant: If you know you are like me that you don’t have mind for all the things you see in Nairaland.i mean argument of what to and not to submit just close Nairaland and be tracking your application on Cic. I remembered asking a question on Nairaland and I got various suggestions until I decided what to do.

It’s well....

Congrats! go and do us proud in Canada!

It has to first open b4 it can be downloaded..
Not really. You have to download the form first before you open it. Some CIC forms that need Validation(eg, IMM1294) have encoding that prevents it from opening on certain web browser or other pdf reader aside Adobe 10 or newer version. This is secure the information on it when validated over the internet. So ensure you download the form and use an Adobe 10 reader to open it.

Here is a link to how you can go about downloading and saving the form if you haven't already.

You are right, this doesn't look good at all. But I tell you what. I have seen one guy who had the same things checked against him who later went on to be approved on a second try. I will advice that you set your house in order should you be applying again. Who is your sponsor? How much money does he or you have in the bank? A strong financial and asset showing in your favor can offset all the reasons checked against you. So if applying again, present a strong financial standing or look for a sponsor who has or even a full scholarship. I can see all the reasons checked going out of the door the way they came in if you do so.

@jnyuwa02 I got a refusal letter today. Almost similar to the one above the first four reasons were checked against me. I applied for PGD in Geographical Science with option in Geographical Information System Am a graduate of Urban and regional planning working, senior town planner with one of the state in the south west. My brother/Sister in-law are my sponsors they are both based in calgary. Though they didn't submit any SOA but I submit there employment verification letter stating how much they earn per hour and the minimum biweekly hour they are doing. I did not submit any SOA too. I have already applied before knowing this forum. Pls elders/ gurus in d house help out a friend. Is my first post here

4. Nysc is not compulsory for visa issuance. My wife was serving and resigned to proceed to canada

To the best of my knowledge, a statement of result is quite different from a transcript. A transcript is a document that shows your TCO (Total Credit Offered), TCP (Total Credit Passed) for each educational session and your CGPA. So if you've a statement of result, you don't have your transcript yet.

2. This depends on you, either ways leads to the same result so it is what you're comfortable doing that is okay. So many people submit online and so many people also submit via paper route.

3. Oh well yes cos I think NYSC discharge certificate is an important document to submit along with your application. You can ask other people though but every person I've seen their timeline submitted their NYSC discharge cert with their application.

I hope this helps. God bless

Sorry I have to be honest with you, you are in for some serious waiting. They are not going to give you TRV to go chill in Canada one year before the start of your program.

Bosses, pls is it necessary to submit an NYSC discharge certificate in a situation that ur are applying for TRV during the period of service.
Would also love to know if doing a Masters degree (ccourse based) in canada would make it hard for such a person to proceed to pHD

Yes, would help to submit the NYSC certificate, more importantly, documenting what you are doing now. No, doing a masters course based, would not be an impediment to doing a PHD in Canada. Actually quite a lot better doing it in Canada, course or research based, it is more respected in the admission process over those that have their degrees applying from Nigeria.

You should submit your own SOA and documentations on any landed property you might have in Nigeria, marriage certificate and children's birth certificate of you have any of these. And try and get away from this PGD thing and apply for a masters degree if possible. The road to justifying your purpose of visit with a PGD, can be a more uphill battle.

They can for sure. But do they? Have you seen any? What I have seen is they take a long nap on those applications and deal with more exigent matters of closer admissions. First come first served indeed! Lol.

I've just got an offer of admission for Fall 2018.

The funding decision will be made in February by the school.

Lol, you said the same thing about me. Do not necessarily agree. My start date was for sept 2018, i got my TRV october 2017. i'm even guessing they prefer to dish it early, so that if you decide to go early, you'll help boost their economy by spending your dollars

They do bro! A lot , even Austinpee4 got his long before studies started, not just Austin though but I’ve seen some others too ....if you read back you’ll see when I asked a question for a friend he wanted to go and start working there before school starts because he got his trv long before time.... however he was advised not to cos it might technically have effects during pgwp app

Hello house

If applied through paper route
Questions:
1. Will payment be made by cash at the VAC?
2. Will biometric be done same day immediately after payment?
3. Which is acceptable, original or photocopy documents?

Thanks. I awaits your reply

It is definitely not the norm getting TRV a year before school starts. I will make the case that it is the exception. An overwhelming majority have had to wait and still waiting. All while people with more current resumption date are acted upon.

Forget it man, not interested in who got their TRV when, interested only in getting results. Results is all I am after, grace and all.

I suggest you and your spouse apply for PR via Express Entry with you as the principal applicant since you have points already from studying in Canada . You stand the chance of earning extra points if your spouse writes IELTS. All the best
