Hello guys, please would I be allowed to take medications like Paracetamol, flagly, Ibuprofen and so on with me as I travel? Pls guys, reply asap as my flight is this morning

If you are carrying in moderation that fine but if you are carrying a lot then that raises flags . Paracetamol, and Ibuprofen dont need prescription in the USA

So in everything do it in moderation .

Forget about orientation. The most important date that you dont want to miss is whlen class starts.
The orientation is not that UNIMPORTANT. My school stated that in order to be granted the scholarship, one has to attend the orientation. The scholarship also qualifies you for the instate tuition plan. So it's your choice... whether the scholarship is important to you or not. This may not apply to every school sha..

Same way there is no law that bans you from doing OPT after your studies for 3years if you are in STEM, but when they ask your study plan at the VISA Interview, we 'lie' that we will come back and never mention OPT.
.
A staff at my school's center for international students mentioned that the OPT program is under review. I then remembered that TWOODS already said that here. Make Oga Trump no mess with me o. Me that supported him all the way. I hope it doesn't affect STEM programs sha.

There are unforseen circumstances that can prevent one from attending the orientation. Schools will tell you orientation attendance is important to retain scholarship or GA. Still people would come up with many reasons. I've never attended any orientations before and I've missed GA orientation before. If you're close to the school, you should attend. But if you get your visa days after the orientation or you couldn't make it to U.S by the orientation date, as an int'l student who has to pass through immigration procedures, you've a reason....... nothing would hold your scholarship.

This thread caters to those who wish to apply for F1 visa. So everything here revolves round that - standardized exams to write, picking a school, applying to the school, attending your visa interview and travelling. Along those lines. You may not get the advice you seek on this particular thread. I said "may" because someone here may know whatever Erasmus mundus is and how to go about it... but it's not very likely. I suggest you search more ideal threads for that question.

Hi everyone, I'm new on here, I was just reading through page (1)so this got my attention, Biko oga ability247 I want to know which standardize exam as u stated, picking a school, applying to the school, attending your visa interview and traveling. I've being on NL for a while but just a new phone again.

I'm currently a youth corp member in one of the southwestern states, I need the possible steps to follow before I round up service in June. Pls any help/advice will much appreciated.

Thanks.

Use wes.org to evaluate your OND and HND transcripts. Then you can use the equivalent to apply to most schools.

A Nigerian I met here told me that when he came in, it was the same thing.in fact he's was stricter. They made it clear that if you don't come on the orientation day that you would forfeit your admission. So I still think it varies with different schools.

One thing I noticed since my arrival in the USA is that all Nigerians try so hard to talk like the Americans. I think it's a bad orientation. We have Americans in Nigeria and I don't see them trying to speak like us.. I think it's a slave mentality by the way. We feel inferior. I will retain my African accent. If I have children in the USA then they can claim to be Americans but I am a Nigerian man.

You cant blame them, I guess you have not had to repeat yourself countless times because they are not used to you accent yet. I don't think its inferiority complex when you get used to pronouncing some words the way white Americans pronounce just to make them understand you and save you the stress of repeating yourself. To be fair, we pronounce some words wrongly in Nigeria, for instance most Americans wont understand you when you pronounce words like Library as libry instead of Li-bra-ry, Battery as Battry instead of Ba-tte-ry,Laboratory as Laboratry instead of La-bo-ra-to-ry as well as many countless words. What really matters is to speak clearly and pronounce words well.

Yes he/she is right but everything is still uncertain. If you visit quora regularly, you would have seen that are are rumors and uncertainty that >500000 Indians might be deported if there are changes. The Indians have messed the program up so much that there is a wait of almost 20 years or more for any Indian that graduates now to get a green card after H1B. You can only do your path and hope for the best.

The only best way is if you know anybody coming over.On the other hand you can always get this in compare foods or African stores and they are not that expensive.

Someone was supposed to bring it along, but later dulled and left without packing it along. And to avoid the stuff getting wasted, it has to get sent somehow.

The process is step by step!
First, decide your prefered states in the US, where you would like to study.
Decide which program you would like to do
Then begin looking for schools within that state and study the program requirement thoroughly
If aný test is required, prepare to write it and do so excellently well if your aptitude can carry it
Then apply for the term you prefer ( I am guessing fall 2018)
Send in required documents,
Get your I-20 and pay sevis fee,
pay visa fee and fill DS 160
Schedule appointment
prepare for interview,
and get the visa
FLY!
There are expert on this process, or people who might help on this forum, contact them when you are ready. Or if you like, PM me. I will guide you!

You can go and get a quote ...it most likely the price will chase you away FAST grin.

But you won't know until you try. Get the weight and find someone to check at dhl and FedEx. They directly would be the best to advice what they can carry or not

Depends on the school. Some are so competitive that they have equally excellent students on waiting lists. In addition, we Nigerians are used to simply making decisions on the fly, no plan, no respect for others plans and time. That doesn't work elsewhere. A lot of schools like to be prepped. If you can't make it on resumption day, you should have known well in advance and informed them so they can make necessary adjustments. Unless you died or fell seriously sick and thus incapacitated, you should be able to know if you can make it on orientation day or not.
