The late addition to the CHAN eagles' camp, Tosin Omoyele was unable to make it to the final 23-man list of the CHAN eagles heading to Morocco in few days.
The former Osun united forward was in a spectacular shape for his new employer, Plateau United in the recently concluded NPFL Invitational Tournament which earned him an invitation to the CHAN camp.

Head Coach Salisu Yusuf on tuesday released his final squad of the Super Eagles B for the 5th African Nations Championship starting in Morocco next week, with goalkeeper and skipper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, midfield Trojan Rabiu Ali and marksman Anthony Okpotu listed.

Ezenwa is joined for the goalkeeping duties by Oladele Ajiboye and Theophilus Afelokhai, and defensive stalwarts Osas Okoro, Stephen Eze and Kalu Orji Okogbue also made the list, as midfielders Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and Ekundayo Ojo and forwards Sunday Faleye and Emeka Atuloma.

ARE THESE THE TOP 20 MANAGERS IN NIGERIAN CLUB FOOTBALL?

As hostilities begins in the Nigerian professional football League(NPFL), no club is leaving any stone unturned. As players have crossed from one team to the other so are their handlers.

Memories still serves us about the exploit of Kadiri Ikana, Adegboye Onigbinde, Okey Emordi and several others who have achieved a great feat in the NPFL.

Massive turnout for Pillars vs Katsina United game.

The first match in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season between Katsina United and Kano Pillars ended in a 2 all draw at Mohammed Dikko stadium in Katsina.

A late equalizer from a penalty kick converted by Destiny Ashadi was enough to safe the home team from humiliation from the raging Kano Pillars team.

This was a good start for Katsina United as their fans were all out to give them the needed home support against the intimidating Kano Pillars team. This game is might be a pointer to the attacking strength of the the two teams however, it is still too early to make evaluation.

Can Kano Pillars FC reclaim their dominance in the NPFL?

EL-KANEMI WARRIORS:THEY DEFILED ALL ODDS TO BE ONE OF THE MOST CONSISTENT TEAMS IN THE NPFL.

The Maiduguri based team did not look like a title contender in the last four seasons but one thing is certain about them, they have shown growth and consistency. After returning back to the elite league in 2012, they were faced by the aftermath of the ravaging Boko Haram insurgency which moved them out of their home to another man's land.

PLATEAU UNITED ADVANCES IN THEIR TITLE DEFENSE AS RANGERS SUFFERED A SECOND LOSS.

Goals from Elisha Golbe and Emeka Umeh against Rivers United FC ensured that the NPFL defending champions gained the maximum point possible in two games. Plateau United who prior to the beginning of the season signed a striking sensation(Tosin Omoyele) from OSUN United to beef up their attack are hoping to defend their title in the 2018 season.

In another game, the Gbenga Ogunbote led Rangers International of Enugu suffered yet another set back by loosing at home to Lobi stars of Makurdi. This is coming after losing away to Akwa United in Uyo in a match day one encounter. The Enugu based team have a lot of expectations on them as they were recently promised a bonus of one million naira for every win and an ultra modern camp was just commissioned for the team. Gbenga Ogunbote was the immediate past handler of Enyimba FC of Aba.

NPFL MATCH DAY 4 REPORT:PLATEAU,AKWA TOPS THE TABLE AS LOBI STARS LOOSES INVINCIBILITY ...

Lobi Stars FC isn't as strong as they initially made us believe. They fell by a lone goal to Yobe Desert Stars in a match day four encounter.

Akwa United FC secured a valuable away victory against Niger Tornadoes of Minna. This victory will prove helpful when the host the same team is weeks to come. The promise keepers of Uyo has caused great upset in this season by defeating Rangers International of Enugu.

Go Round FC couldn't secure the maximum three points in front of their home fans as Heartland FC snatch one point away from Omoku, Rivers state. Both teams were newly promoted though Heartland FC has a bit of history in the NPFL.

BANJUL RAID: AKWA UNITED THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND OF CAFCC

The promise keepers, Akwa United FC of Uyo travelled to Gambia for the away fixture of CAF confederations cup needing to overturn a goal deficit by at least two goals.

The first leg against the Hawks of Banjul in Uyo ended 1:0 in favour of the visitors and all eyes were on the AITEO cup champions to validate their credential.

Akwa United looked formidable as they have had impressive run in the NPFL. One goal apiece in each half ensured the smooth sailing of the Uyo based team into the second round of the CAF confederation cup.

Coach Abdul Maikaba presented the same team that lost 1:0 in the first encounter. This is quite historic for the team as this is the first time in their twenty years existence of playing continental football.

Cyril Olesema was the two goal hero.

HOW WILL THE HARMONY BOYS HARMONIZE THEIR RECENT RESULTS IN THE NPFL?

http://www.hemmssport.com/2018/02/kwara-united-woes-continues-as-they.html

KWARA UNITED WOES CONTINUES AS THEY SUFFER A HOME LOSS TO RIVERS UNITED.

A very unfortunate 94th minute goal from Chikere Osita of Rivers United was more than enough to extend the woes of John Obuh's Kwara United.

The Afonja warriors have struggled since the beginning of the season despite emerging division leaders in their NNL group in 2017. As at the end of match day 10, the Ilorin team have only managed to secure ten points in ten league matches and are seated uncomfortably on the 19th position of the table ahead of Sunshine Stars who suffered point deduction from the LMC.

TEN GAMES PLAYED LEAVING THE NPFL WITH POSSIBLE TEN TITLE CONTENDERS

Ten games gone already and the NPFL title race is looking like it has just begun. With the top ten teams just three points apart of course due to some rescheduled matches, it is not safe to assume any team will be the champion.

Expectations were not so high on Plateau United at the beginning of the season to defend their title but the Jos-based team have sent a resounding message to other contenders that though they won the league as a surprise, they are not a fluke. Plateau united also seems to be proving good based on their recent performance at the preliminary of CAF champions league.

NPFL TITLE RACE: AKWA UNITED SEEK TO REGAIN TOP SPOT AGAINST LOBI STARS

Coach Abdul Maikaba and his team, the Promise Keeper are looking forward to returning to the top spot of the league currently occupied by Kano Pillars. The team have managed to earn only four points out of the possible twelve points in their last four away games.

They will be up against the Lobi Stars of Markurdi in a rescheduled NPFL away encounter. A loss against the hard fighting Lobi Stars will further push the team downwards the table giving teams like Plateau United another chance at the top spot.

The promise keepers, Akwa United which are currently third on the table will bank so much on their current form which earned them a much needed away victory in the preliminaries of the CAF Confederations cup.
