Benue Indigenes Protest In Enugu Over Herdsmen Killings Of Their People. by Stingman: 10:48am On Jan 21, 2018
HUNDREDS of indigenes of Benue State residing in five states of the Southeast geopolitical zone on Saturday staged a peaceful protest in Enugu the Enugu State capital over the incessant killings of their people living in their home state by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The states are Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo.

The protesters who had initially planned to begin the peaceful demonstration at Michael Okpara Square, Enugu before they were stopped by the Police, shifted to Nike Lake Hotel at the outskirts of Enugu metropolis apparently to avoid clashes with security operatives.

The Spokesmen of the protesters, Chief Abel Abah the Ochidoma of Enugu State, Reverend Ternenbe Tor of Universal Reformed Christian Church and Dr David Wayas of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in their separate speeches, told reporters that they were under the auspices of “Concerned Benue Indigenes Resident in Eastern Nigeria”, and appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to do the needful by stopping the incessant killings.

They vowed to defend themselves if the authorities refuse to check the spate of killings in their home state, wondering why the President Buhari led Federal government classified the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a Terrorist group while the Fulani herdsmen who have been killing innocent people are left to roam about the streets scot-free.

The group also expressed their support to the anti-grazing law enacted by their home State Governor, Ortom, and called for its implementation. They also insisted that the anti-grazing law is meant to protect their people from the menace of Fulani herdsmen.

They also called on the Governors of the South East of the country and other political leaders in the country to come to the rescue of Benue, Nasarawa and Plateau States, predicting that the South East zone is likely to be the next target.

Some of the placards carried by the demonstrators read: “Enough is Enough of the Benue Killings by Terrorists Herdsmen”, “Cattle cannot be given more attention than human lives”, “Your cows are not more valuable than. Human lives”.

In one of those comments up there did you see another reason why Nigeria is a shithole? Just look at that comment by the Kim Kardashian moniker up there to see why Nigeria will continue to be a shithole.

On to the topic,it is a laudable move. In saner climes once an issue escalates/develops to a certain point,a protest is what will ring a loud bell to the government.......But not in the shithole.

You notice how comfortable and safe they feel in Enugu to have to come and protest. You don't see Igbos telling them...go back to Benue as how Yorubaa say to Igbos in Lagos.

Stupid bunch of old people. You are protesting on the same Biafran soil whose people you chided when they were protesting against the unfair and dehuminizing treatment meted on them by the government.

You left your respective caves to stage a protest against your fulani brothers in Enugu? Isn't that daftness?

When Nnamdi Kanu called Nigeria a zoo he was insulted by many and eventually tagged a terrorist by Buhari and his Fulani gang cos of his secessionist campaigns.

Now same Fulani presidency is giving tacit support to Fulani militia terrorists herdsmen murderous rampages and pushing for cow colonies across the country thereby attempting to give animals more right at the detriment of land owners.
What could be more ZOO-LIKE than these actions.

To all those who voted and supported Buhari and his gang of incompetents and bloodthirsty demons I say "the joke is on you"

And to Benue indigenes I say fight for your right, defend yourselves, stick with anti grazing law, break away from northern domination and look south ward cos its a perfect opportunity for your freedom from the evil of Fulani hegemony.
IT IS NOW OR NEVER.

Benue men and women were known to be very strong and great warriors. But government backing disguisely has aided the killings. Pmb should intervene because if he doesn't and killings go on. Benue men might decide to retaliate and those people bad when them wan fight. Their mind de back of their mind when them change am for you. They use even evil spirit to fight you. They did it in the days if the old and trust me, juju no DE die.
The South will back benue if need be since they are neighbors and all Christians. It will lead to a civil war and the core North won't win this time because ammunition is in abundance in the creeks and South. All these can be avoided if Pmb does the right thing. He should sit up. What kind of president is this abeg. Not even a visit.

The moderators should stop bringing any topic about the Fulani herdsmen killings to the front page, it is affecting the UNITY of this country!

Those of you quoting me, have you forgotten when IPOB topics were banned or pulled down in this forum for the sake of the country's UNITY? What goes around, comes around!

Moves to indiginalize Fulani herdsmen begin in Kogi
In compliance to Governor Yahaya Bello’s directive that traditional rulers in Kogi state should accommodate Fulani men in their councils and communities as indigenes, the Obadofin of Kabba, Oba Michael Yusuf has inaugurated a 13-man committee to be in charge of the implementation of the directive.

Inaugurating the committee in his palace, Oba Michael Yusuf said the committee has in its possession forms to be given to the Chairman of Miyeti Allah, Alh Ibrahim Sheidu who will in turn give to his member for registration.

The forms, according to the monarch, would help the community access all required information about the herdsmen and subsequently indigenalised them.

He disclosed further that it is part of the committee’s responsibility to ensure peace between the community and the herdsmen when the need arises.

Oba Yusuf who said the committee members are to meet fortnightly, urged the herdsmen to always report to the committee whenever farmers offend them rather than resort to violence.

He noted that it is not in all cases that the Fulanis are guilty but might have been provoked by the action of the farmers.

Members of the committee are: Chief Paul Olurinjon (Chairman), Chief Obatoke Oloruntoba (recording secretary), P/C Aiyedun Joseph (Police Rep), Moses Amoo (DSS Rep), Alh Ibrahim Sheidu (Miyeti Allah’s Head in Kabba).

Other members are Chiefs Bello Obahawo, Samuel Ojutalayo, Ayodele Okono, Ogedengbe Obatoweshe, Obapinwo Fadile, Arokoyo Bolaji, Abiodun Obafegbewo and Obamowe Olojo.
