The Chronicle and Adventure of a Kwesé TV Dealer is a compendium of my journey as a Kwesé TV dealer in Lagos Nigeria. I choose to write about it because of the inherent lessons it may hold for the intending entrepreneur and to educate Kwesé TV subscribers about Kwesé TV decoder and services.

This compendium particularly holds useful information for the early adopters of Kwesé TV – Men and Women who are taking advantage of the Kwesé #BeyondTV Factor. The adventure part of my compendium is in the future; I have a plan of visiting and bringing you views from all the Football Centers in Lagos – those ones that own a Kwesé decoder. This compendium promises to be exciting, fun and engaging.

Sometimes in April 2017 I read from Dr. Strive Masiyiwas Facebooks wall that Kwesé TV team were receiving dealership Application from interested persons and organisations. Kwesé TV is the media Subsidiary of the Econet Group. In one of his Facebook posts, Dr Strive explained that Kwesé is a Zimbabwe word that means anything and everywhere. Kwesé TV promise is to keep her subscribers glued to the contents they love on the go – Anytime and Anywhere!

As an ardent follower of Dr. Strive, I saw becoming a Kwesé dealer as a job creation opportunity and with Dr. Strives involvement in Kwesé TV, I had no doubt that it is the future of Satellite TV in Africa. I visited www.dealer.Kwesé.com and applied to become a Kwesé TV edealer – edealers are individuals who buy at wholesale price and retail. Not satisfied with being just an edealer; I opted to become a Supertechnite, a Supertechnite is an individual who has a physical office space and a registered business whose main responsibility is to recruit and train Technites (Installers) and ensure that Kwesé clients have a good Customer experience at all times from the point of purchase to installation and after sales services.

Upon approval of my Supertechnite application, I was provided with some learning materials and later invited to a physical training. Being a new player to the Satellite TV business, I did not connect with all the technical information passed at the training but I took proper notes, including a list of the channels available on Kwesé TV- See Channel list http://olorunfemibabatunde.com/kwese-tv-channels/. After the training we were provided with Test Kits with which we practiced how to track the Kwesé signal and do a standard installation. This set the stage of my Journey as a Kwesé TV dealer.

I met my first Technite (Elijah) through information sourced from a flyer that caught my attention within Omole Phase 2 Estate in Ikeja Lagos, Nigeria. The flyer read, “Call 0705XXXXXX for your DSTV, Consat, MyTV installations”. Kwesé was missing on the list and I could tell that the advertiser was a satellite TV business owner or Installer who was yet to know about Kwesé TV.

Knowing that superior product knowledge is essential for effective selling of any product, I soon found home in www.Kwesé.com and familiarized myself with the product features, price and subscription rates. Regular visits to the site helped me stay in touch with the growth and milestone achieved by the Kwesé Team – one of such is securing Free-to-Air (FTA) and payTV rights for the 2018 World Cup.

By June 2017, I was ready to receive my first Client. Our Office line (07052193183) rang;

Me: Hello, Good morning
1st Client: Good morning, please am I on to a Kwesé TV dealer.

Me: Yes, you are.
1st Client: I’d like to get a Kwesé decoder, how much does it cost?

Me: It costs N10960
1st Client: Ok. Does that include installation?

Me: Yes, it does.
1st Client: Kindly confirm that your address is No. 58 Bode Thomas Surulere Lagos as displayed on your website – www.olorunfemibabatunde.com

Our first client was a fine soft spoken young man, an accountant with a finesse that resonates with our clients. He is a keen follower of ESPN website and had noticed that the ESPN website addressed was renamed to Kwesé.espn.com this lead him to make further enquiries about Kwesé TV. Not minding that he had an existing cable from of one of the leading providers in Nigeria.

To be continued. Are you watching Kwesé yet? If No, what are you waiting for?

If you have any questions or need to purchase a Kwesé decoder in Lagos Nigeria do not hesitate to contact us 07052193183, No 58 Bode Thomas Street Surulere Lagos.
