AdSense no longer pays anything on page views if there's no click. I hate to slave for anyone if it is not charity. The number of views doesn't matter anymore and they've reduced CPC since this new year.

Which is better? Grow your blog so big that you'd have at least a 100 clicks in a day. Bitvertiser, Propeller Ads, NG Ads, etc, are worse.

I wonder why you're bothered smiley Well, I'm a Nigerian blogger and I currently adopt any monetization strategy you can think of. I have blogs that generate income via Adsense, and I have affiliate niche sites. I also have a blog on which I sell my own products.

That said, I think most Nigerian bloggers opt for Adsense because it's seemingly easy. All you need is good traffic, and you're good to go. Affiliate marketing and product creation are not so straightforward, but the good thing about both is that you don't need as much traffic to make decent income from them as you would for Adsense

Kindly shed more light on this for me. I have a blog site that I am yet to make it a well developed one. I tried registering for Adsense but I don't know how to go about it.

Nigerians don't usually buy stuffs online because of fear of being Scammed. Ignorance is the cause

AdSense is the simplest way of monetizing your blog and the best part is that it needs little or no maintenance.

Then secondly, the simple but painful truth is that most of you Nigerians don't buy stuff like online digital goods that much.

Some are afraid of using their cards online, some are still languishing in ignorance of how easy it is to buy things online whereas most are just looking for free content or products!

So most Nigerian bloggers are just stuck with AdSense, kind off...

You can also monetize your blog through sponsored post whereby people pay you to put up posts on your blog for them but that means your blog must be an already well established or well known blog before you can monetize through that way.

Eish. If the major reason is because most Nigerians are not open to buying online products, then it is a structural issue, and poses more problem. I currently blog at www.djetlawyer.com and I have sizeable traffic to my website. I have applied for AdSense multiple times and have been rejected.

So, I have decided to try the sell-your-own-product model. However, that hasn't been easy, and I have this nasty feeling that there must be a good reason for Nigerian blogs to shy away from this business model. To be honest, I'm just scared of failure lipsrsealed : sad sad cry cry .

I wish there was a Nigerian blogger I know who follows this business model so that I could learn from him/her.

Exactly why we chose to do monetization differently with direct content marketing at questechie.com

It seems your revenue model is based on sponsored posts. That's nice, but I doubt that applies to my niche (legal). it's such an unexplored niche sad Especially in Nigeria.

Adsense is one of the most trusted ads network for publishers, but Nigerians have made difficult for newbies to enjoy too

At www.brainnewsradio.com we make atleast 20-60 dollars daily, and we are been paid at the end of the month without delay

Also we use many other services on our portal to generate cash too. Like Amazon, Jumia affiliate programmes, music promotion etc.

That's nice. You have an idea of how I can implement these models to my niche (legal)?

I blog at www.herbalpharmal.com and I must tell you adsense approval has been a bit difficult to get. I have been considering a product based model too which I think will work well with my niche, I currently have no add running because I am still under adsense review, after which I may consider alternatives.

Your blog niche is everything.. Always try to target tier one countries...
CPA and Affiliate marketing pays more than adsense

Yeah. I know that if I target foreigners, it'll make more sense since they have more money, and are willing to buy stuff online. The only problem with that for me is that I don't necessarily have the legitimacy to teach Americans/British people about law since I didn't study law there.

However, I might actually do that if my stint with the Nigerian audience fails.

Hypothetically, I think the product model is the best. One reason is simply because it transforms you from simply being a pesky blogger looking for traffic to a business owner using the web to sell products.

The only problem is that it is not a walk in the park. Nothing worthwhile ever is.

A little bit of advice. If you want more subscriptions to your email list, I suggest you have a lead magnet instead of a newsletter subscription. That way, you will be able to use the full power of email marketing to scale your business.

I just started taking email marketing seriously, and it's quite fun. Although it costs more, but I hope it pays off in the long run.

I have a premium theme. I will do all the renewals, but you will pay me to have it.

I renew for $40 yearly, so it is a premium theme with good Adsense earnings.

A one time off fee of 5k.

You can google "Adsense Theme"

It is the second best in terms of monetization. Fucking expensive, but I make much from it to cover the expenses.
