So many good designers prefer to make clothes for celebrities who ofcourse can pay so much for their designs but what about the below average nigerian who loves fashion but can't afford this clothes.primark in the Uk sells cheap clothes so everyone can afford to wear what's trendy.A nigerian brings this clothes and some people will buy these primark clothes 3times the price. My people what do Ɣ☺ΰ say about starting a factory that can Mass Produce cheap trendy clothes in nigeria.I need your honest opinions..thanks Ɣ☺ΰ all

This is what i am working on, i have a high street brand and my clothes would be affordable, and well made, with price range of 3000 upwards. Some of our designers don't know the business side of fashion and they are caught up in the red carpet facade and the glamour of dressing up our celebrities, who most times wear the clothes and return it back to the designers.

the thing about mass production of trendy clothes in Nigeria that puts so many people off are two things:

Getting the right fabric to make these clothes meaning if its cheap and inferior it willl definitely stand the test of time , or should i say wear and tear.
this is where UK clothes beats every other production.

then secondly , personally speaking , i am yet to see that designer/tailor/ seamstress etc that can actually make trendy affordable clothes without having funny stitches , rough stitches , rough edges,and poor finishing,and those who do try to get it right ( like the ones that make their own designs for celebrities and those who can afford them) tend to always have too many things that give their imperfections away and hence not getting the right fit or size for the client.

Lots of designers are working on it, I've spoken to big names and they mentioned the financial issues involved in mass production (your environment is not conducive) and mass-produced clothes have a lot of competition, so the amount of money required to make it financially viable is a lot. Do your research, go to Awolowo road and talk to designers. Then work with them. It will be viable if you have a lot of capital.
